@Crono1973 The fact is, the Wii U is a dead console. Nintendo said it themselves. They need to instill confidence in their customers by ensuring they are sending all their development teams to develop for the Switch, especially in it's current state where there really isn't much to play. Part of the reason the Wii U generation was so poor is because you had to wait like, 4 months between every major release.

At this point Nintendo really should be going all hands on deck with the Switch instead of continuing to support the Wii U. I could understand wanting to continue with the 3Ds, but at least give us an ETA on the virtual console. There's so little to do on the Switch right now! lol

Re: Report Focuses on Nintendo Switch Touchscreen and IR Pointer on Joy-Con Controller

I could do without the touchscreen for 2 reasons:

1. I wouldn't want developers to feel compelled to utilize off-screen play of ANY kind since it didn't work well for Wii U

2. It wouldn't add a single thing to the gameplay.

*Sure, games like Super Mario Maker wouldn't work on the Switch in that case, but its worth the trade-off. Too many forced gyroscopic and touch controls hindered my enjoyment with the Wii U

I can totally relate to your psychological method related to gaming. Im actually quite similar in that, I tend to enjoy the 'new' aspect of gaming. When I was younger id replay the same games tons of times. These days i get new games all the time and tend to refrain from retreading the same ground. Part of it is OCD, but another part could simply be habitual;]

Re: Talking Point: Is There A Future For The Wii U Without The GamePad?

I think the gamepad was an awful idea from the start. Its too large, its got terrible battery life, AND it isnt even in high definition. Im not saying getting rid of it would "help", but it would at least drive down the price of the console and it would have a better focus on controls without the developers having to worry about off-screen support. If they NEED to have an off-screen experience they should have a companion app on a phone, or integrate the 3DS as an off-screen controller

Its great the big N still has some third parties to back them, but its like, come on. With the psn app and xbox smart glass you essentially can get that gimmicky second-screen experience from your smartphone. No one wants to look down at their controller while they play a hard core game. I know I dont. I love my wii u but the gamepads got to go. Ive seen few decent implementations such as with zombiu, but most games use it as an alternative to simply pressing the start button and viewing maps, menus and gadgets from the main pause screen. I certainly dont have a problem with it, so why does nintendo?

Its funny how ive never questioned the actual "gender" and randomness of the mario kart characters. We got turtles, girls, guys, monkeys and italian plumbers. The characters for this kart game looks pretty weird though. Looks like a bunch of animals broke out of the zoo.Could have had more interesting looking racers.
