I agree that digital sucks... I lost hundreds of dollars worth of stuff on my iPad when I updated to IOS 11 (IOS 11 did away with all 32 bit compatibility)... if they would have been physical copies I could have at least sold them
@HipsterDashie No Spyro announcement was the biggest disappointment of the day for me! That’s crazy! Skylanders sold much better on Nintendo consoles and now I doubt we will get Spyro
@electrolite77 I think you misunderstand... I think all games should be retail, I prefer that. I will always buy retail over digital. My point is that if a developer will not put a fully playable game on the retail disc then don't mislead people by offering the game as retail because they are not getting a usable product. If you can't give me a functioning game on the disc then don't bother, I don't want the illusion of owning a game that relies on the download being available.
@electrolite77
Let them? I have no problem with people buying it at retail, I prefer retail but I am sure that nobody gets home, pops the game in and says "yay! it's incomplete and I have to download 20 more GB!"
What I'm saying is that if developers cannot include the full game then only let them sell as download only. Nintendo needs to set that rule. Those developers are making a huge mess out of gaming. Lets say you buy a used game 8 years from now... how would you even know if the other half of the game is still available? with things going the way they are... people will have no choice but to hack the Switch to play games in the future once Nintendo shuts down the servers. Imagine if all the NES and SNES games were sold with only half the content and people wanted to play them today.
Also... I'm not attacking developers or publishers. I have a developer license and have a game currently for sale. This is about doing the right thing and not including a fully playable game on the retail card is just bad.
@kobashi100
They should not be allowed to sell something incomplete. If they aren't going to provide the entire game at retail then don't sell the game at retail, it's that simple.
Anything other than that is misleading and stupid. I don't care if there is small text somewhere on the box saying... 'hey we are too cheap to provide the entire game so go download it".
@kobashi100 @AlbertXi I agree with AlbertXi, I know this game is huge but would it be okay if lets say... all developers decided it was okay to go with an 8 GB SD card and expect the player to download the rest of the game? no! if you are selling a game at retail then the entire game should be present and in the package at time of purchase!
@GrailUK Exactly! and in a few years the PS4 is going to be slow compared to new systems. That cycle will never end! get over the details and just have fun with the current games because the resolution/framerate obsessed people will believe that everything sucks in a few years.
@BornInNorway81 Seriously? thats nuts! I’ve played Burnout Paradise for years on PC without analog triggers and it plays perfectly! with this type of game you benefit from being able to go between full and zero acceleration quicker... do you have a need to drive slower? I have yet to play any racing game that made me wish I had analog triggers, they were useless on Gamecube.

Re: Review: Gotcha Racing 2nd (Switch eShop)
It’s a great game but I’m disappointed that the steering is digital even when using the analog stick, it makes me think it’s a mobile port

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Lavishes Praise On Outlast 2 Switch Port
is the game mostly cut scenes? its kind of useless to compare those
