@Anti-Matter I agree. I have fond memories of reading the instructions manuals for games on the way back from the store as a kid. There are electronic manuals, but they just aren't the same.
@RodSD64 You're welcome! I try hard to be fair with my scores so your comment made me think twice about how I discussed my criticisms. Good to keep in mind for the next review!
@BispoSnake Haha, yep. That's actually why u mentioned the bit about using the Pro Controller, which is my first instinct with any game. I couldn't do anything with it and then I realize it was Gamepad only after restarting. It's awesome that it didn't feel forced at all. On a side note, I was almost more disappointed with Zero's branching paths and lack of replayability than the controls.
@RodSD64 I think it's because I grouped a few frustrations together at the end rather than mentioning them in passing. None of those issues last for more than a few minutes, and are small annoyances to an otherwise excellent game throughout. I'd have to say this is one of the best original offerings on the eShop overall.
@BispoSnake As a huge Star Fox fan who was disappointed in Zero, this game doesn't have the problems that Zero does. The TV screen is only used for the map, and you also have a small map in the top corner of the game pad which you can tap to view it full screen. You could play the whole game without the TV, it's really at its most useful when quickly navigating.
@Pahvi Honestly, I wouldn't let that stop you from trying it (maybe when on sale). The map is fairly straightforward if you're not going for any of the secrets, as the Metroid feel really comes into play more when you're backtracking.
@sillygostly I appreciate what you have to say here. Scoring poor games is tough for me, because I don't want to automatically make every bad game a 1/10. I try to take price I to consideration as well. For $4 this game isn't utterly broken, but it's not worth paying for in the case of most users anyway. However, there are worse games that deserve the 1/10, like 153 Hand Video poker. All you do the is click a button and watch nothing happen.
@vincentgoodwin Makes me think of the good old days where we'd run around Hyrule field in Ocarina of Time just messing around, not paying attention to the story. There's lots of fun to be had in all kinds of games for kids.
@PtM I gave it two and not one because it's not the worst thing I've ever played. It's not glitchy or anything like that. It's awful, sure, but I try to reserve a 1/10 for things that are unbelievably bad.
I can't wait to check this out, but I've got a lot of Ace Attorney to get through first. I just finished case 2 of Apollo Justice, and of course I have to play Dual Destinies before Spirit of Justice. This series is so great!
@dronesplitter I understand your caution. The reason the review reads that way is that I'm normally easily bored with games like this, but really enjoyed this one for some reason and wanted to try again every time I died. It's not the greatest game on the system or anything, but it is some fun for sure.
@Stu13 You're in a medium sized fixed area. Trees surround you, and each of the four compass directions has a blank space for enemies to spawn from. You only move to dodge enemies, not progress.
@Captain_Gonru I mentioned them briefly! The music is good and doesn't feel repetitive, though you wouldn't want to listen to it for hours. Sounds are great and feel satisfying.
@buildz I enjoyed the game more after coming back to it a day or two later, but the issues you listed kept it from being great for me. The controls are off just enough to feel like a chore. It's not an awful game, but I don't think it's a good choice for most people.

Re: Guide: Getting Started In Pokémon Sun and Moon
@chiefeagle02 Happy to help! Yes, it does mention this about Moon on the back of the box, but you could be forgiven for missing it
Re: Random: Meet The Twisted Offspring Of WarioWare And NES Remix That Will Never See Release
As a massive fan of WarioWare really wishing for a new game, I'm sad this won't be made public.

Re: Review: SEVERED (Wii U eShop)
@Mooj738 It's $15 and includes a cross buy 3DS version as well, for the time being.
Re: Random: The First Skunk Bundle is Free on the North American eShop Right Now
I've already downloaded this one for via a review code, so I can't "buy" it for free and get the coins. That's a shame!

@AlexSora89 I'm so glad you appreciated that!

@MarioPhD hope you love the game!
Re: Guide: Getting Started In Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past
@Sir_Teabag happy to help! Enjoy the game!
Re: Guide: Getting Started In Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past
@Dakt No, it does not. No support for the second control nub.

Re: Review: Tallowmere (Wii U eShop)
@Pahvi This is a real-time, as it plays like a platformer. No turns here!

Re: Review: Shadow Archer (Wii U eShop)
@samuelvictor the slight slide is minor and not game breaking. If that's all that worries you, I'd give this a try!
