@Wavey84 Thats the thing though. You have made it abundantly clear you aren't excited for the game. Having constructive criticism and wanting to talk about how the game could have been a better product is different from just ragging on it it every post.
Yeah, not everything is going to be sunshine and rainbows, but the fact you feel the need to constantly act this way just looks like you are trying to go out of your way to bring people down for being happy about something you aren't interested in instead of just letting people enjoy the games they want to play.
This team has worked very hard to make sure this game lives up to the legacy of the series. Your main argument this entire time is that you don't like the art. What about the gameplay? The music? The content? Does any of that matter, or are graphics the only thing that matter in your book?
You aren't trying to have a conversation over scepticism of the title, you are trying to start a fight.
@Wavey84 Do you seriously have nothing better to do with your time than go into the comments section of every SoR article and whine about the game? If you aren't interested in it then keep scrolling. It's fine if you don't want the game, but jeeze man. Stop trying to rain on everyone's parade.
You seriously never have anything positive to say about any game, yet you constantly feel the need to butt in on other peoples conversations to complain about something they are happy about.
This whole edgy early 2000s mentality of thinking you are the cool kids because you hate everything is so dated it's not even funny anymore
If you aren't interested in a game, keep scrolling. If you are interested in a game, but feel like it could be better, offer constructive criticism. If you like a game, then be happy about it. But above all else, stop trying to ruin everyone else's fun.
@ramu-chan Did you really not pay attention to anything following the release of the game? The fact the devs poured over the series continuously through the development of 4. Constantly referencing source material and strategy guides to make sure every last detail looked and felt right. Playing 2 side by side with 4 so they could assure accuracy. Having original composers of the old games come back to make new music for the series.
This game is absolutely made by people with an undying love for this franchise. You are just looking for a reason to justify not wanting this title, and being overly negative for no reason.
If you don't want the game that's fine, but do not sit here and make things up about a dev team that clearly has passion in this game.
Go watch the dev logs on YouTube, and the countless Tweets they have made about this game. They are constantly online and in Discord engaging with the community and showing how much love they share with the fans and retro games.
Saying this game was not made by passionate fans of SoR is a bold faced lie.
@Markiemania95 The point I am getting at is that at the release of generation 3 there was no way of obtaining Pokemon from past generations. It wasn't until the release of Fire red and Leaf green at a later time that gen 1 and 2 Pokemon were available again. All previous Pokemon were added after the fact. Game Freak will be adding the old Pokemon back over time. Most likely through new entries like they have in the past. You are correct, they will almost 100% not be adding them back as DLC. Instead they will trickle them back in as new games come out for the Switch. It's how they did it in the past, so we can only assume it's how they will be doing it this time.
@Markiemania95 It wasn't though. There is a hard stop at generation 3. It was impossible to transfer gen 1 and 2 Pokemon into Ruby and Sapphire before they made Fire Red and Leaf Green. This isn't the first time they locked out old Pokemon with the intention of adding them back into the games over time. This is just the first time anyone that got into the series gen 4 or later are hearing about this. If you started by then you already had the resources available to get everyone back, but when 3 came out we had no option but to wait.
@RyanSilberman As someone that is the manager of a video game store, and has worked in customer service/retail for over 10 years I can 100% tell you beyond any shadow of a doubt that the customer is not always right. Most of the time they are wrong. A customer will tell you they are right, but for them "right" actually means "what I want". The world does not work that way. You do not always get what you want, especially when you are trying to break the rules to accomplish that.
@BacklogBlues Thing is this is simply trying to replicate that style. Games like this would have never run on that hardware. There is a lot more under the hood of these games.
@DockEllisD Then what are you saying? How does someone being a massive fan of the genre suddenly make their opinion and possible expertise worth nothing? Would you rather consult someone that hates the genre, and potentially has little to no knowledge of what actually makes these games good, or enjoyable. Someone that either skips or blindly dislikes every game in a given genre causing you to potentially skip or miss out on incredible experiences that may have become gold in your eyes? This whole culture of people's opinions being invalid because they actually like something instead of raw hating everything for no actual substantial reason disgusts me.
@Arcamenel It was pretty bad in the beginning. The game in its current form with all of its updates is a lot more tolerable. The majority of the grinding now is just to do optional or post game content, or to 100% the game. If you are here for just the story and dungeon crawling you don't have to worry too much about the grind though.
@Megasone It was an anniversary for Classic Mega Man. More games can come later, but it is important for this to sell to make that happen. Plus I don't think you can fairly say it is too little, too late after seeing 1 stage in a 1 minute trailer.
@-Green- I must have misunderstood your post then. to be fair though this is the first time since Black and White 2 that Nintendo has done this, and that was in 2012. My goal was not to be so aggressive, I am just a little frazzled with the way a lot of people treat video games these days. Like I mentioned before I work in retail, and I constantly see gamers skipping out on or bashing games for completely arbitrary reasons, most of which are purely based on a lack of knowledge, or just regurgitation of things they read online instead of forming their own opinions. I am pretty passionate about games, and I just want to make sure if someone doesn't want to play a game that it is for reasons they understand and can justify instead of "Well Youtuber said it was bad, so this game must be horrible." Have a nice day bud.
@-Green- I understand not wanting it still, but that wasn't my question. What does "These types of releases" mean? Like I mentioned before, this is essentially the 3rd version of the game. People are hung up on the name. If they had just named it "Pokemon Stars" it would have flown off the shelves.
@gcunit Honestly a good question. The switch did not go on sale Cyber Monday, but she said getting it now would not get her as good of a deal. They just had a bundle deal where it included 2 games with the console. She did not mention anything about games being missing, only that the console was gone. I am not trying to make accusations, but you would think that 2 missing games would also be a part of her report.
@-Green- But the question is if they had called the game "Pokemon: Stars" instead would you have purchased and supported it? Unfortunately this whole naming thing is causing a problem. I work in a video game specialty shop, and have had customers actively tell me they are not buying it solely on the name despite the changes to the game because it is "too similar."

Re: Feature: How One Man Is Turning Dead DS Lites Into Gorgeous Game Boy Advance Systems
@Anti-Matter Thank you very much for the reply. I am a huge fan of the GBA, so I will be looking to add this one to the collection.

@Anti-Matter Would you mind telling me what game that is? I have never seen it, and my searches are not turning up anything that looks like it.
