I would much much much prefer local multiplayer. That online multiplayer has overtaken local in terms of popularity and importance is one of the obscenities of modern gaming. One of the great pluses to owning a console over a PC was always split screen gaming, but it's almost a thing of the past now. It just makes no sense.

The one character I really want is King K Rool!

@Collinhall to be fair though the original version of PacMan on here is identical to any other console version, so if you fancy pacman on your WiiU you should overlook the fact that this particular version is a GBA game.

This game just deletes high scores. So what is the point? Why even bother play it? Or am I expected to write the high scores down??

It's so so close to a 10, but there are issues; I think you slow down waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much when hit, it also seems like whenever i'm hit once I am immediately struck again 9 times out of 10, this is extremely frustrating when playing online because you routinely drop from 2nd to 8th in the blink of an eye. Also driving on grass slows you down waaaay too much, I know it's meant to be an impediment but it's too much. But I don't want to complain too much because it is easily one of the best racing games I've ever played.

@Alucard83 Oh it's nonsense, people blindly believing what they're told to by the mass media - it happens all the time in the gaming world. The Wii U has a FAR better selection of games than the One and Ps4, and already has more exclusives than either of those consoles ever will. I have 10 Wii U games, I've loved every one, and there are still tons more that I want to play, that doesn't even include games I've downloaded! So don't tell me that the Wii U has no games, because as far as i'm concerned that is an absolute total fallacy - if the PS4 has a stronger line-up of games after 2 years on the market i'll be stunned - it isn't going to happen, just look at that insipid PS4 E3 line-up.

And this is coming from a PC gamer, I love PC gaming, but the Wii U offers something unique and different with a brilliant selection of games.

But hey, believe what the press tell you, I suppose the Mass Effect 3 ending was terrible too?

@Kirk As if that matters when you have at least 3 buttons that are either horrible to press or as is the case with Z both horrible to press and a stretch to reach.

@DESS-M-8 You're joking right? It's all cramped up, the shoulder buttons are awful and spongy, the Z button is the opposite, it's all clicky and tight. Nah, not a very good controller at all in my opinion.

@unrandomsam I've got it on the Wii U and haven't noticed any bugs at all. The biggest problem with that game is the lack of consequence when you die. Sadly whenever i've tried to play online it's been dead, same with Injustice which is a shame.

Minish Cap and Mario Kart. Wow, great week. And my freeeeeeee copy of Monster Hunter to get stuck into. Some great sales too!

@SilentHunter382 Yes, framerate can affect a game, and if it does then it's fine to mention it. It's when it makes no difference to the game, but people keep banging on about it, that I get irritated.

Why oh why has this framerate fad burst onto the scene over the past year... I am sick as hell of people banging on about framerates... it makes virtually zero difference to the playability of a game. So sick of it right now.

I am extremely tired with indie puzzle games but this one actually looks pretty cool.

Please bring it to the UK... pwease

For a game that seems to pride itself on it 'freerunning' the controls are an embarrassment, it's like controlling a gorilla. The frame-rate is poor, the graphics are deeply last gen, no gamepad implementation to speak of, sub-objectives are a total drag, the fact that it is somehow illegal to walk on roofs, the atrocious combat - so many flaws and i've been playing for no more than 3 hours. Not impressed at all so far... oh, and that Animus nonsense, come on Ubisoft, knock it on the head, what a farce.

@the_truth To be fair when it comes to exclusive titles the Wii U has far far more than the One and PS4 combined.

This happens with every console now doesn't it? I'm sure I heard the same with the PS3 at least.

Two great games this week, sadly we're told there are no games on the Wii U and people just blindly believe it; but that's the story of gaming today, just as we were told that the end of Mass Effect 3 was terrible and it became the gospel truth, there's no subjectivity in gaming, everyone thinks the same. People complain that the Wii U has no games, you ask them what they've played and there's a dozen amazing games they've never touched.

It's a shame. Very much like pop music people wait to be told what to think, two very petulant industries.

I was only thinking the other day that the abysmal Episodes I, II & III shouldn't be considered cannon, because quite frankly they're an embarrassment.

No doubt it will get the obligatory 70-80 Metacritic score that all indie games exclusively generate. I'll certainly be buying this one though.

I don't understand all the fuss, it's just a mediocre little JRPG. The combat is actually pretty terrible, every fight is frustrating thanks to the awful dodging system, the boss fights are overlong and boring. The plot is a yawn too. It's decent, but if it wasn't a Nintendo game it would be long forgotten, and really it belongs to the past. Regretting spending £6.29.

I still think Metroid Prime 1 is one of the most overrated games ever made.

I wish they'd discount 1 Snes or Nes game a week.

For me it is almost a total irrelevance whether you've played the previous two games... this is a MUST buy for Wii U owners.

Great games but please Nintendo, keep releasing SNES and NES games!!!! It's still bizarre that I can play many more virtual console games on my Wii than my Wii U, I mean who thought that was a good idea. Is it going to be a huge leap backwards with every new console? We finally catch up to the Wii virtual console with the Wii U and then out comes the Fusion and back to square one?? Really stupid.

You know what gets me, and still gets me... Any game with ANY backtracking anywhere at all and critics come down on it like a hammer... but Metroid Prime has the absolute most back tracking of any game in the history of video gaming and no-one ever mentions it... ever! A bit off topic maybe but it is total hypocrisy!

@readyletsgo Yeah, I was hoping for Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy VI at some point but GBA games will slow it all up.

To suggest that there is some sort of generous learning curve is... a lie. World 1 is very easy. World 2 is easy. World 3 is bat **** insane. World 4 is rock hard. This is by far the hardest Mario game, it makes Mario Bros 1 look like a stroll in the park. It's all waaaaay too frustrating for me.

I love that GBA games are out on the Wii U, I just hope they don't slow down the release of SNES games.

As a history loving Brit I just don't think I could abide the Redcoat bashing nonsense.

Will there ever be an update to allow Wii games that use the classic controller to be controlled using the buttons on the Gamepad? I cannot say how much I want that.

it amazes me, literally amazes me, that people are whinging about GBA releases, the more games the better and you aren't obliged to buy them. I cannot wait for these 3 games.

@Daemonite But a lot of people haven't played these before and unless you have an original DS or a GBA you can't play it. People complain no matter what Nintendo do, if you don't like it don't buy them, it isn't difficult.

Shame about the price, as good as these games are nearly £7 is extortionate. Having said that, if you're a Metroid fan that missed Fusion you're in for a real treat.

I love the gamepad, I pray they utilize it with the 'Fusion', as with every great Nintendo innovation Sony has shamelessly ripped off off-TV play with the Vita/PS4.

The media's attitude to the gamepad really irritates me. They demand gimmickry, without gimmickry they whinge and complain - conversely they whinge and complain when gimmicks are shoehorned into games! It's catch 22 for developers. Personally I think the screen is nice to have, it's a bonus, the controller feels great in my hand, I love love love being able to play with my TV off.

I think it's a great game but no Zelda game has ever struck me as anywhere near as amazing as everyone makes out. I'd give it a 9 though.

And I couldn't possibly care less. Assassins Creed is as bad a CoD, a pathetic cash cow for idiots that like to buy the same game again and again and again and again and again. No Watchdogs would disappoint me, no Assassins Creed is fine by me.

But seriously this highlights part of the reason that the Wii U has been a flop, even people in the industry don't get it! Don't get me wrong, I love my Wii U and I hope the gamepad makes a comeback on the next Nintendo home console but it's all a bit baffling for the general public - is the Wii U the same as the Wii? Will I need to spend £100 on a second controller? Do I need a Wii U if i've got a Wii? - these are all valid questions. I remember when the 3ds came out I was out of the loop and thought for several months that it was just a normal DS with 3D tacked onto it so I can appreciate that point of view when it comes to the Wii U.

I just don't understand Nintendo's logic here; it's like as a 3DS owner i'm a second class citizen. I can play NES games, gameboy, a few Sega games etc but that's about it. I don't get it. Why are SNES games not coming out on the 3DS? Why no GBA games? I kind of understand no DS games as you can just buy a hard copy but not being able to play Super Mario World or Super Metroid on the 3ds just seems misjudged. And the rate at which they are releasing games is pitiful too, I mean how much time does it take to emulate a NES game?

With the PS4 and One so hard to get right now, and a new Mario game, surely sales will rise?
