Does this really come as a surprise to anyone. The last 4 Pokémon games on the Switch did not have all known Pokémon. In fact Pokémon Legends Arceus only had slightly over a quarter of the national dex. I expect to see the usual #gamefreaklied and #bringbacknationaldex nonsense again. Pokémon Home is the National Dex on Switch. Time to accept that no Pokémon game from now will have all 900+ Pokémon. They should include all of Gen 5 - Gen 7 Pokémon as all Gen 1 - 4 Pokémon are available in Pokémon BDSP and probably will be in PLA at some point.
Surprised to see Sword and Shield getting an announcement tomorrow. I doubt it will be anything major. Probably just a RAID event or something. Can't see Sword and Shield getting another big DLC 2 years after its release. Pokémon Day being on Sunday probably means no big announcements like DLC for BDSP or Legends Arceus. Most likely a date for Pokémon Home compatibility for BDSP and maybe the Global Wonder Trade for BDSP. Likely to see DLC for Legends Arceus later this Spring.
I have always been a fan of the series. I can see why some people feel the game is lacking in innovation and trots out the same old tired dull format year after year. Legends Arceus was changing point for a variety reasons. It showed us what Pokémon could have been and to many what the series should have been and what the series could be. Game Freak dared to do something different with a 26 year old series and that is to be commended. Whether Legends Arceus is the future of Pokémon I don't know. The game does make some much welcome and needed quality of life improvements that I hope are carried forward. However overall Legends Arceus just didn't feel right to me as a long time fan. I am not adverse to change but it has to be change that is done right and I don't feel this game accomplished that fully. Than being said I would like to see Legends continuing in different regions and take over from the traditional remakes as a side series while classic Pokémon continues as the main series with new regions and Pokémon provided that Legends gets the improvements it needs.
Pokémon attacking you just makes sense seeing as they are meant to be wild animals. Legends Arceus is more believable than any previous game. Unfortunately my gut tells me that Legends Arceus is a one off special and we will be back to the old style where Pokémon are nice soon enough. If Game Freak doesn't make Gen 9 all overworld encounters then I am quitting Pokémon altogether.
I judged the game with my own eyes and whether or not it makes me happy. The graphics are not great but I am not a great judge on graphics. I will happily play any game that looks terrible as long as I find it enjoyable. For me that is exactly where Legends Arceus falls into. That is what gaming is all about for me. Any game that makes me happy and keeps my mind off the stress of everyday life is a winner for me.
I cannot for the life of me understand why people are so upset about the price. It will cost me just over €3 a month for N64, Animal Crossing DLC and Sega. I think that is a bargain!
