@75 That's too bad . I also had some stutter/lag online issues but the latest update fixed it for me. Try to set the search mode to regional, it might help.
Great review! Going to buy this next week, looking forward to the online matches pewpewpew . Has anyone here tested the headset yet, does it work well (excluding the usb-cord :/) ?
So those were the cats who made statements like "Meooww" and "Mweoow" in the background while we were playing the Conduit last summer .
Also great review Sean! You can easily see the 3d effect from the video, which would be impossible to show in static images. Effect looks pretty much same as the Johnny Chung Lee's head tracking demo back in 2008. Hope this will be soon available in EU, US and Australia.
I first heard about this game few weeks back at Nintendo Life Chat and bought deBlob few days later. Sean and other Nlifers got me convinced that it's a good title and it sure is (also you can probably find it cheap nowadays)
@stuffgamer1 "If people are really so curious, why don't they just click on the "Shop Channel" button that's on their main menu?" Well I don't know but obviously most people are not compelled to see what's on the Shop Channel
Free Wii points would be a great way to promote the Shop Channel, as Ren and others pointed out, and N really should have done so from the beginning. Just like they finally did with the DSi..
They really should improve the shop channel. I think it looks like a relic from the beginning of last decade :/.
Maybe if Nintendo would have integrated shop access somehow on the Mii channel. That's likely the first place to visit when the brand new Wii is turned on. Ie. There could be a door to virtual shop where you would be able to browse and buy wiiware etc. Door would stay shut until Internet Connection is established, natural curiosity would then force people to see what's in there
It was stated here before but 3rd parties really should spend some cash to advertising if they can afford it and EA sure could. I mean advertising via TV commercials. Only a very tiny percentage of Wii consumers search the web for information about new and upcoming Wii titles or notices some flash banners. I believe that majority doesn't even have a clue about any other Wii titles than Wii Sports or Wii Fit (for example).
I bought the DS:Extraction and it was absolutely great experience but I had checked a lot's of user comments and gameplay videos before purchasing the game.
Edit: I have played the original Dead Space and still or because of that liked DS:Extraction very much.
Alright! WiiSpeak support! Graphics look pretty bad but I would be surprised if those visuals will appear in the final version (also what's the point in comparing Wii graphics against PS3/XBox360 anyway?).
In the end it's the gameplay that really matters for me, hope it's going to be smooth.
Nice review. This game is great and I'll have to say that the actual gameplay on the Wii looks a lot better than what you might think of from the screenshots. Ie. those "lightbulb" helmets don't actually look like lightbulbs at all when playing
I played the original Dead Space on the PC and I'll probably have to replay it once I finish this game.
Hey, at least Nintendo can now use this guys picture with this statement to calibrate the "Wii Vitality Sensor" when it comes out. You know, to get the high stress levels
What? A celebrity likes different things to what we like?! But... how will I know what to do from now on?! Guess we won't see him endorsing any Nintendo stuff this Christmas, then. And for the record, let's try to have less of the childish name-calling and general abuse, shall we? It doesn't reflect well on anyone.
Well said! It's easy to get offended and angry with sh*t like this but it's waste of time IMO. (I hope no one get's offended by this post)
Note that the controls can be customized so you are not forced to use A + B for accelerate and brake. I for example found it more comfortable to use shoulder buttons (L+R) for those functions.
Nice hands on report, thank you. Red Steel 2 sounds like a very promising title. One question: Does the camera move when you are using the sword? I mean ie. if I slash from up to down, does the camera finally point to the ground?
I think it looks pretty good for a Wii game (even though that is most likely some alpha version footage). Finally some promising titles coming to the Wii and people are like "meh, whatevah" .
Hey... nice. They actually really patched (the game sure needed a patch). Time to get my "This is my poker face" shirt on and head towards the tables.
Players from the USA who likes texas hold'em poker, I encourage you to buy this game (we need more players ). It sure looks kinda ugly and could have much better interface etc. but still it's the only poker game available at the moment and it's actually not that bad (also only 500 points). I at least like to play ONLINE poker easily from the sofa.
@6 buxtoc. Let's hope we'll get an uncut version this time... Imagine that "juon/grudge girl" being replaced by casper the ghost or something similiar.. shivers. That would be a real horror title
This game was not that bad. Of course it is a tech demo for DSi but at least it's a "free" tech demo as you can decide whether you spend gift points for this or not (I'm glad that I did). Controls worked quite ok for me when the camera was pointing at the ceiling towards the light (does that make sense? English is not my native language ).
Also I think it has more mini-games than just 4x5 though they are pretty similar.
Nice layout, also that search bar at the top of the page is excellent with suggests and mini-images (Is that some kind of AJAX technology or perhaps magic ) Anyway it works great. Keep up the good work!
@28 "But this has the first half of what you're asking for. lol." Yep : ) though it would be great to chat with friends while playing.
@29 "If I want to play "offline" with friends, I just take the card game" Good point .
I bought this also and yes, graphics are hilariously ugly. UI also could be better. But it cost only 500 points and Texas hold'em is naturally what u expect it to be.
I actually (somehow) convinced my friend to buy this too and I already won my money back via friend match (we made a deal of 5 EUR to a winner )
Just tried Onslaught and have to say that it is surprisingly good.
I was prepared to be disappointed but it wasn't that bad at all. Game reminds me faintly from the Starship Troopers movie and those endless hordes of bugs.
I am sure WiiWare-World guys will give us a good review soon so no point for me to try reviewing this. Anyway I would suggest to try this one if you like FPS games and happen to have spare wii points. .. There are some annoying voice announcements though ("that's why you're still a kid" repeated every now and then!? WT#?, seriously )
"World of Goo is Officially the Best Wii Game Ever" Oh man, for Europeans this is like rubbing salt into the wound . Nevertheless this could (should) raise standards for all upcoming wiiware titles.
I would have definitely supported developers by buying this game via Steam for my PC but at steam store there was an announcement: "We have just been informed that World of Goo will not be available in Europe until Feb/March of 2009"
Guess we'll just have to wait but anyways great to see that a small development team can achieve such remarkable results like WoG
Thanks for the heads up, pagster. Just tested the demo and it was great. Too bad that I (and other europeans) will have to wait until spring to get this on wiiware *sob*. *Edit*: Damn, we are not going to get this on wiiware at all , double *sob*
Good review and I gotta say that this site is absolutely great! Kudos to you wiiware-world authors . I always check reviews here before buying anything from wiiware, keep up the good work.

Re: E3 2010: Reader Questions - Day Two
Thanks for the answers, great work! I wonder if M+ needs to be calibrated every now and then while playing the new Zelda game?
Re: Review: Red Steel 2 (Wii)
Excellent game, no regrets of buying this. Funny how Red Steel 2 feels brutal without being violent (if that makes any sense )

Re: Nintendo Wins Another Piracy Court Case
@41_zemulii
I agree, while piracy is wrong the $1.3M USD fine for one individual is just ridiculous :/.

Great game and great review Sean!
