Niche - a genetics survival game = € 16,19, 1.1GB;
review metacritic: 5/10: "gambles with repetitive and predictable gameplay. It's as likely to frustrate you as it is to relax you, and small annoyances tip the scale in favor of the prior. " https://youtu.be/u7bfiDswG5A => utter trash.
Out There: Ω The Alliance = € 13,00, 350MB; no physical.
Maintain fuel/oxy/hull on a spaceship, in deep space with event cards pushing the story. Weak trading sim. Only if cheap. https://www.metacritic.com/game/switch/out-there-omega-the-alliance => 7.4; just a cheap port from mobile. Uniformly random single tiered deck. Yet another crap title for switch.
The Fox Awaits Me = € 40,99, 3GB; physical: €79.92 (special edition) or €35.52 (normal edition).
VN that looks cute but is in fact a grim thriller. 2 insane girls and a grim reaper. Bloody endings. Uncensored version: don't expect any 18+ stuff. SE has extra information on CD. It's hard to follow the story as it is constantly either true or false.
-> it may be a masterpiece to some, but for me absolutely nothing is happening in this anime and aside from the cute robot, nothing holds my interest. Try to endure the anime until the end. Then decide. I quit after a few episodes, so it's a personal thing.
City of Brass = FPS in arabian setting. metacritic: 6.9: "its lack of gameplay options ultimately make it feel frustrating and uninspiring to play." + "great whip, but the rest of the game could do with some polish." => utter trash
Children of Morta = € 21,99, 2GB; physical: €30 everywhere. topdown action adventure. Play as father, child, grandchild inherit traits as gimmick. Roguelike theme= corruption grows across the land. library grows as you play. Good narration. Diablo-like stamina. Need fast reflexes. Not my thing.
Bookbound Brigade = € 19,99, 1GB; or physical €32 https://www.play-asia.com/bookbound-brigade-multi-language/13/70dcbt?ref=emrs_emcart. Metroidvania, i.e. stupid platformer. Hovering books offer portals to other platforms. The twist is that you control a clotted group of heroes that you can rearrange so solve platforms. Annoying switches and pixel precision. Garbage.
Bertram Fiddle Episode 2: A Bleaker Predicklement = Point and click adventure. Full of typos and wrong subtitles, shrill voice, and I don't like the artwork. Bad attempt at humor.
Beholder: Complete Edition = € 3,74, 2GB; physical also. Landlord simulator. DLC also, has prequel. Make moral decisions KGB style. Das leben der Anderen the video game. Metacritics: the tiresome grind, muddled signposting and rather flakey controls. In the long run though, Beholder: Complete Edition is a bit too much like an exhausting job, a job that I wished I could quit after a while. in the Switch port of the game the controls and menus, alongside the abnormal ‘recommended’ difficulty make it more of a chore to play than previous versions.
Arena of Valor = Try the free demo. Failed diablo 3 clone. Sucks. "Controls are routinely sluggish, non-responsive, and laggy. Server latency is major problem on both public and private networks." + "within the three days of playing this game, I have experienced over 30 crashes, forcing me to constantly fight against my credibility score so I can receive rewards, but the crashes, and penalties weigh a lot more then participating in a game"
Arc of Alchemist = € 39,99, 4GB; physical but not for english. Terrible <ps2 quality, playmobil look, item pickup is a pain, total mess. base builiding is nice but the enemies and the desert are always the same and nothing in the game is actually fun.
Akihabara - Feel The Rhythm Remixed = trash. You are rewarded for keeping on the beat when clearing tiles, but it fails to be interesting or entertaining like other rhythm titles and I oftentimes felt like I was being cheated with obvious misses where I knew I was on the beat. I never found this gameplay mechanic to really work properly and staying on the beat just became awkward. With the gameplay being entirely based on beats-per-minute (BPM), most of the songs never even really changed the cadence with the beat and would have the same BPM. This ended up coming off as bland and repetitive.
Ageless = € 11,99 (€ 14,99), 500MB. Platformer. metacritic: "It's a disgraceful clone of Celeste. The worst thing is how unpolished it is... Celeste was absolutely polished to the max. The controls and Celeste felt fun and tight. And in this poor clone the controls feel so bad."
€ 19,99, 6GB; no physical (yet). shortcomings: controls lack polishing, few glitches, framerate issues or no real reward in finding secrets. Combat aspect also is disappointing in many ways. Recap: It's this type of game that you like in the beginning, but offers you nothing more the more you progress. => utter trash, but do try the demo.
Haven't bought it yet so likely will update later, but from what I could gather it is mostly pink and purple colors.
No physical, no demo, 330MB.
Gameplay:
useful to distract your child for a while;
simplistic trading and exploring;
some bugs and glitches;
after discovery you run out of places to sell and have loads of cash with nothing to sink your money into;
nothing long lasting, mostly a few hours. 6 as advertised, for $15 makes this a >$2/h proposition.
Certainly not worth the asking price of $15.
It's great that small indie developers try out their creativity but the end product must have value to return to, here there are no achievements or anything so I don't see reason to support that.
Full of spelling errors and bad grammar, sloppy production. The images contrary to what it suggests are stills. Fixed images of fanservice plus puzzle. Puzzles are uninspired. You will quickly get bored of this. Waste of my $11.

Playtime: about a weekend, multiple playthroughs required to reach the true ending. https://www.metacritic.com/game/switch/the-fox-awaits-me; bad jokes that don't flow well with the darker story, not ok in the me-too era https://www.gamingboulevard.com/2020/04/review-the-fox-awaits-me/ 6/10; also https://switchwatch.co.uk/the-fox-awaits-me-review-fan-service-go/ -> not engaging.
