For the record, this game is an improved port of "Adventure Bar Labyrinth," released on PS Mobile (which is now a thing of the past). The introduction was more or less the same, but otherwise there was even less to the game than this 3DS version. Nevertheless it was very fun with solid roguelike gameplay, and it was actually completely free.
I've only just finished the tutorial dungeon, but looking at screenshots on the game's website there seem to be many features added; new weapons, items, playable characters, dungeons, and enemies. I really liked ABL on PS Mobile, so I already knew that an enhanced port would be worth my five dollars.
That said though, I will admit there isn't much charm or a lot that's actually unique about the game. If you're looking for something with charm and style, you won't find it here. It's a pure roguelike experience, which as mentioned is not necessarily a bad thing. But other games, especially Shiren the Wanderer series IMO, have a lot more to offer.
You can only retreat if you have an item that lets you do so.
This is a basic feature of roguelike games. Randomly generated levels and items, extreme difficulty, and death taking everything from you. There are usually ways to protect certain items from being lost, but everything you haven't specifically protected is gone.
To clear things up a bit, this is an enhanced version of the PS Mobile game Adventure Bar Labyrinth. The original game had only two dungeons and one character. I haven't watched the trailer yet, but based on screenshots, this 3DS version has more characters, more dungeons, more items, and is generally much more robust (which makes it worth an actual price tag).
Seems more or less okay; only thing I can say is that they darn well better let you earn points for purchasing retail games.
I don't have a problem with buying digital games; if a game I want is only available digitally then I'll still get it. But I always buy physical if there's an option, and it looks like Nintendo is actively choosing not to reward me for that.
The glitch happened to me most often in the ice level; in the area where you have to zigzag up and avoid the sliding penguins. Hang around there long enough and there's a decent chance you'll come across the glitch.
@accc I was using Liner Shot. It also happens to Riva with CobaltFire and Sword Rain. (Like I said, it also even happened to enemies as well.) Please don't assume we don't know what we're talking about; he's a professional reviewer and I'm actually writing a guide for the game. We're not just talking nonsense. (And for the record, you don't need to hold down any button to use Dia Missile. Just press the attack button when an enemy is in range and it'll attack. Matter of fact, that leads to an entirely different glitch in the game, albeit a beneficial one.)
I've had the game for a while, and I have indeed experienced the attack issue several times. It's not that the button doesn't respond; your character does go through the attack animation. The issue is that your character inexplicably starts shooting blanks. It can last anywhere from one to three seconds, and can put you in a bad place if you're unfortunate enough to experience it. (I've also seen it affect an enemy; a fairy who normally shoots beams at you shot blanks two or three times.) At any rate, I think 7/10 is right on the money. Brief and unpolished, but with great gameplay and replay value.

Re: Review: The Legend of Dark Witch - Episode 2: The Price of Desire (3DS eShop)
Are you kidding? You take over a month to review it, and THIS is what you come up with?
I don't even know what to say. It's almost pathetic how misrepresented the game is.
(Also @ap0001, "What's Safeguard" is also my favorite track from the first game. I listened to it every time I played poker.)
