Watch_Dogs is pretty much done at this point. No reason to cancel a complete game. The money has already been invested anyway.
Project CARS was crowdfunded, so the projectt has already been financed, making it zero risk of losing money. Every development cost as already been paid at this point.
I just majorly dislike the idea of comparing any home console to the GameCube/PS2/Xbox gen because that scenario was very unique.
The main difference is, in that gen, the results were decided even before it stated. The moment games like Gran Turismo 3, Tekken Tag, Metal Gear Solid 2, Final Fantasy X and Devil May Cry were announced for the system's first year the "war" was already over for both the GCN and the Xbox. Every consumer knew which system to buy and and every developer knew which system consumers were going to buy: the PlayStation 2.
Splinter Cell's online issues on "Spies vs. Mercs" are the smallest problem. I find the missing split-screen multiplayer, the super-long load times and the abscence of the option to install highter quality textures much worse.
The Wii U owners surely got burned by Ubisoft on this one. It was clearly a rushed game with no effort at all.
Ninja Gaiden 3? Team Ninja leader Yosuke Hayashi said multiple times the Wii U was easy to develop. And he also said he is interrested in making a new Wii U game that isn't a PS3/360 port.
If you're referring to the multiplat release of Razor's Edge, that was probably planned before the Wii U version came out. There were even retailers listing "Ninja Gaiden Sigma 3" for PS3/360.Team Ninja nowadays loves re-releasing games. Just see Dead or Alive 5, Dead or Alive 5 Plus and now Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate.
Don't know about the other games you mentioned, though...
And people said the devs for this game were good, they're ex-Retro Studios, whatever.
Funny to see the devs say they left Retro because they wanted more creative freedom to their work when the only things they could do were an incomplete Vita port of Metal Gear HD (missing Peace Walker), a sub-par Batman game (this one) and another Vita port (Injustice).
In other words, all they did were ports of already finished games to a failure system nobody owns and, the moment they were given the opportunity to make something original, they dropped the ball.
Apparently, these guys are way too "Armature" to make a good game.
And people say americans have terrible taste for video games...
At least here in the west people didn't rush to stores to buy that $60 Angry Birds Rovio and Activision tried to push to us, thinking consumers are going to pay full retail price on a mobile game.
Dudebros buy a lot of questionable games, but at least they know how to diferentiate a big release from a mobile cash-in.
Just forgot to mention that, for some weird reason, the american version of the game is called "Race to the Line", omitting any reference to Chevrolet or Camaro names, to the absurd where the black Camaro is simply called "Black Car". Guess Chevy didn't eant such a turd carrying the Camaro name on its home region...
@DarkwingLz I do not remember saying the PS3 had a good launch. In fact, it was a really bad move by Sony.
The thing is, if I remember well, the Ps3 never sold around 10k weekly. The Ps3's big games all sold well (see God of War III and Gran Turismo 5). And, finally, the Ps3 never lost third party support.
The Wii U, however, is doing bad on all fronts: hardware sells low, first party sells low, third party sells low.
Hell, even the majorly hated Xbox 1 managed to sell in UK in 1day what Wii U could not sell in a year.
And then people badmouth EA for dropping Wii U support. If not even Mario is selling high on this console, what else will?
Like it or not, at this rate, Wii U will either be early discontinued or become a very mediocre first party-only device.
Pretty much this. Wanted to get a Wii U, but decided against it right now. No way I'm putting my hard-earned money on a sinking ship. I insist, if 3D World didn't sell the system, nothing will.
Not to mention the downloads tied to hardware, demo limit usage, region lock... Better saying, the **** only Nintendo does.

I'll add something here. How can Metal Gear Solid V not be on the Wii U? That game is going to have second screen functionality on Xbox systems.

I know about that. What could happen is that those games may not get patches/DLC support, just like Injustice.
About 2015 Call of Duty, if there is a PS3/360 version, MAYBE it appears on the Wii U. If CoD is PS4/X1 only, no way we will see a Wii U version.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Wii U Struggles Bring a Challenge, Not Doom
@Laxeybobby Unlikely.

What, they don't bring Doom?
But what I wanted the most was Doom on the Wii U.

Especially if it's a EA ou Ubisoft game. Those publishers aren't deserving much for what they have been making lately.

So, it sold far worse than the lowest selling Mario. Pretty bad news.
Re: Investment Site Motley Fool Executes Spectacular U-Turn By Claiming Nintendo Will Win This Christmas
I highly doubt this will happen for:
1) Mario 3D World underperformed in Japan;
2) Wii U is too expensive for shat it offers; and
3) Nintendo's anti-consumer policies (region lock, downloads tied to hardware).

So much for getting a Wii U. The system is confirmed to be dead.
If 3d World didn't increase sales, nothing will. Better get an Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or a good PC instead.
