Re: Nintendo Responds To Foxconn's Admission Of Guilt In Child Labour Scandal

goldgin

"if we were to find that any of our production partners..." it's amazing what an unannounced visit can unravel nintendo... try it sometime. It is also amazing that a teenage group of hackers called anonymous have found out and pointed out child abuse from continents away WITH VIDEO FEED! while apple, nintendo and sony simply had nothing to do about it. The worst thing is foxcon simply apologized and sony, nintendo and apple gave their forgiveness and blessing like scolding a child.

what? no minigames? single cart minigames were the reason the 1st one became so popular... I was expecting single cart co-op too, come on nintendo, what happened to advancing some of your tech? ok gfx is not what matters most but you have abandoned one of my favorite features of DS, single cart play.

A nice "feel good" compilation overall, well done guys, this "Talking point" series of articles make you feel more like family, a main difference from other sites, it just seems as if you speak our opinion.
I didn't know about monilith aquisition and that Xenoblade plus other franchises from these talented people are exclusive to nintendo. Pretty excited now about 3DS/WiiU iterations. Even more knowing that my favorite jrpg series, Final Fantasy, has lost some of its more talented staff, thus becoming a series of stale/arcade iterations.

Re: Nintendo Download: 5th July 2012 (Europe)

I was just expecting all popular songs for a normal 49€ price... getting what's needed (explanation below) would cost up to 99€. It would be ok if the dlc songs were secondary themes, but it seems some classics are included there so I would 'need' to buy them if I am an FF fan wanting a true trip on memory lane (excuse my english). Now my trip is ruined as I have to seek and locate which classic songs I need to pay extra for... and no, these songs are not worth a dollar each as I already own them once (the original games). Besides, I don't mind the price, I mind the marketing scheme behind this... ruining the experience.
then again, I am not used to music games as I don't own any so forgive my lack of perspective on the matter. It just looks to me as if they are selling zelda with some of the best dungeons as dlc instead of secondary quests.

Re: Nintendo Download: 5th July 2012 (Europe)

I don't undersatnd why one has to buy classic ff songs separately. Is the cartridge like 8€ cheaper? What kind of logic is this? "buy 85% of a cartridge full price, then pay another 8€ for the rest... on day one!!!" wtf? at least 3ds xl comes cheaper without the charger/manual (supposedly) and I find it fair.
I wanted to buy theatrithm but now ... no.

Re: EA Sports to Reveal Wii U Games Next Month

I bet 10$ fifa will be a cut-down version of the other consoles (gfx, no drible tricks/moves, maybe cartoony, no 20 player online) but it will sport a nice live map of the field on the second screen with extras like player stamina, handicap/bonus depending on position, and live strategy changes/decisions, a live coach/assistant giving you tips about the game.. maybe "what just went wrong" tips.

"...the touch screen and gyroscope capabilities will continue to provide control options typically associated with a second Circle Pad"

  • can someone please explain that one to me one more time? how do you replace camera control with touch? or with gyro?
  • NL: but Miyamoto-wara-wara san said so!!!
  • ok then

Re: Kingdom Hearts 3D Trailer Goes With The Flow

I'm not sure about flowmotion:
You are facing the enemy, sword ... errr key at the ready...
indead of rushing towards him, you run the opposite way, searching for a wall or barrel to mock about, allowing the game to pick another target instead, which turns out to be bob squarepants' sidekick.. lv1, 10hp,... a waste of time, effort and visual effects.

look at that monstrocity... not interested in xl, waiting for lite (also, double the battery life, half an hour more is still not good enough nintendo!)
Fire emblem is a must now and layton looks awesome. no monster hunter...

spoiler: didn't anyone notice the consequences of no right thumb stick?
seriously.. we have to buy another, bigger circle pad?

Re: E3 2012: Wii U Tech Specs Revealed

@retro_player_22 Playing while it's connected by a cable huh? they'd better go patent that sort of innovation. Anyway, it would require quite a long usb cable from the TV to my sofa, unless you are implying playing as close as one meter from the TV.
In other news, check the latest NL feeds about performance that prove me right http://bit.ly/MZaHz9

Re: E3 2012: Wii U Tech Specs Revealed

@StarDust I also watched "Beyond", and "The Last of Us" online the previous night, it looked quite good. I know the feeds are different (youtube/ustream) but still, I'm talking about texture sizes here, even on a feed, when the image is relatively still, you can see the detail. Reggie looked pretty hi-res to me while standing still, so did the pre-rendered videos, ie ZombiU FMV intro. All the WiiU 1st party games were pointing to a low polygon/cellshaded look too, instead of the Zelda demo we were expecting.

Re: E3 2012: Wii U Tech Specs Revealed

goldgin

Guys, WAKE UP, look closely at the REAL-TIME videos at the presentation again. The best looking title that comes close to PS3's graphics is ZombiU and it is actually bad, sorry to say this but just notice the blur effect to hide the framerate, also the lack of hi-res textures.... same goes for the Assassins Creed real-time video (very short, in-between the rest of Ubi's games), it looks worse than PS3 demo for the same game. Even more, compare this to yesterdays "Beyond" by Quantic Dreams, or plain old RE5. Unfortunately, at this time, the WiiU is inferior to PS3/XBOX360. I wonder if it can handle current-gen multiplatform/multi-core games like Fifa or CallOfDuty.
It better be really cheap or at least just good enough of an excuse to replace the low-res Wii from my living room.
The only reason I'm probably buying this is cause I already own 4 wii-remotes, 3-motion-plus peripherals, one Classic Controller Pro and 2 nunchucks collecting dust in my living room.
