Re: Best Of 2022: How Stardew Valley Grew The Farm Sim While Harvest Moon Went To Seed

This article is a disservice to what concerned ape has created. It makes it seem that the main things stardew does different is same sex marriage and anti capitalist story lines? It’s easy to see that is important to the author of the article, but it’s only a drop in the bucket as to what’s different with stardew.
Stardew isn’t just harvest moon…. It’s harvest moon, animal crossing, dragon quest builders, and legend of Zelda mixed together it’s got enough original with the formula and story and it oozes charm. And the best thing about it is the mastery of the day cycle. 15minute-ish days to cram everything in. You have to plot and plan how your days are spent to accomplish everything you need to do. Rarely do you go to bed without thinking about what you need to do the next game day.

Re: Random: Could Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Be The Final Part Of A Trilogy Of Zelda Games?

I adore all the mainline Zelda games (except links adventure), but I don’t think this is a good theory. There is a sect of LoZ fans who obsess over timelines and connections between games and I have to say, it really does feel every legend of Zelda game is entirely independent of one another. Even if they use the same engine, they still at most just hint at links to where they connect to the franchise. I seriously doubt when they were putting together tears of the kingdom that they were heavily focused on tying in skyward sword specifically as part of this storyline. Why would they? It’s one of the least popular Zelda games.

Re: Talking Point: What Was Your First Legend Of Zelda Game?

I’m an OG Nintendo gamer starting on the Nes…. I borrowed my friends legend of Zelda cartridge and it just didn’t click with me. I had snes but moved on to PlayStation after that. The Wii was my reunion with Nintendo and twilight princess was my first Zelda game I played for real. Since then I’ve played and beat all of the mainline Zelda games with the exception of Zelda II on the Nes. I just can’t get into despite several focused efforts.
The franchise is clearly my favorite gaming franchise and I can’t wait for botw2

Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate Nintendo's 2021?

Any year we don’t get a new 3d Zelda or Mario can’t be above an 7 for me. That being said, they did good mostly everywhere else.
They really fumbled the NOS expansion tier that I was REALLY looking forward to… but a couple Pokémon games, 3d world, skyward sword. Plenty for me to do, but still underwhelmed

My most favorite zelda memory isn’t even in game. It’s what really got me into the series that is now my favorites. I was in my 20s with not much money but had a great group of gaming friends. One friend was buying the Wii at launch w/ twilight princess and we all went with him to Walmart at and waited in line. After he got it withe twilight princess we went back to his house and watched him play through the first 4 or 5 hours.

I knew that night I HAD to buy a Wii and play twilight princess myself.
