@ cfgk24: I'm 100% with you, the only problem that I have is that I just bought a second 3DS when my first one stopped working. Now I wish I knew this sooner so I wait for the XL. I'm not blaming Nintendo is just bad luck and bad timing.
Thanks Malkeor for the info, that so much better... I think I will complain for a few more days until i accept the fact that I'm going to buy one... ^_^
I'm not really into FPS but Nintendo needed this screenshot during their press conference. Looked at Sony the announced COD for the VIta without even a picture of the game!
@Hejiru Your comment is not out place at all. While I love Japanese culture they do have an extreme tendency to overworked their employees. It's the industrialized country with highest percentage of suicides. Their work schedules are insane.
I don't want Mr. Ono to get fired by Capcom but... can you imagine One working for NIntendo? What? A man can dream right? Poor guys needs a break. I bet Capcom gave him health insurance but then, once he went to hospital they told him that he had to pay extra to get his hospital billed unlock.
Graphics are not everything. If graphics were everything my Vita should be breaking sales records instead of collecting dust. Also there are several points to consider: 1) If you release your console with the best hardware possible increases the final price. In this moments of economic crisis at a global level releasing a console with a relative low price tag might be a good idea. 2) Developer cost increase. Developers like David Jaffe already complained about the increasing cost for developer for one generation to the next one. With the risk for the developers increasing we've seen more and more studios getting closed last year. Wii U looks challenging to develop for but I'm quite sure that will be cheaper than develop for the ps4/Orbis.
Still I think it's an awesome idea. Next time I get stuck in a JRPG I just post a message and take a break instead of going nuts trying to find information online. ^_^
@LavaTwilight Well not just haters but also sexual predators. Unfortunately any online game rated for everyone needs this kind of protection. People are just talking about bad words like is the only reason to put protection on this chats.
@Xilef: There are too many gamers that dislike Nintendo that will enter in the chat just to troll and insult. I think (unfortunately) moderation will be necessary but I wish I was wrong.
I'm actually happy with the moderation on Miiverse. I think is necessary. Any kind of social interaction in other platforms becomes a torture without a complex moderation. I'm going to use Playstation Home as an example. Is not a bad idea, there are many places to visit and talk with your friends but... there is a racist, misogynistic and/or homophobic comment every 5 seconds. To be honest that ruins the experience for me because I'm an adult and I behave like an adult. I don't like the feeling of being surrounded by angry teenagers with "South Park Syndrome". Monitoring will be necessary until people understand the difference between freedom of speech and harassment.
@KodyWB-98: Really good point. To be honest I while I wasn't like the press conference I don't like to read the "Nintendo is doom" articles. More than anything because I'm 31 years old and I've been reading those type of articles since the N64 so it's getting old ^_^. Also I think Nintendo works better when they are under pressure. Many of my favorite Nintendo titles came out when Nintendo wasn't breaking sales records.
Thank you mamp & MeowGravy. I wanted to post a message a bit more positive here so there we go: We have to understand that having a bad presentation and not having a good line-up are two different things. Nintendo still has time to surprise us. We still don't know what Retro is working on. Maybe the post E3 bad press plays in our favor and Nintendo decides to release the Wii U with a low price tag. Just next month I have 3 games that I can't wait to play on Nintendo consoles: Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and the Last Story (end of July/first of August). Next months we have: Lego Batman 2, Rhythm Thief & the Emperor's Treasure, Heroes of Ruin, Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, New Super Mario Bros 2, Lego Lord of the Rings, Paper Mario, Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion... That a pretty sweet 2012/2013 if you asked me.
i was going to say black but I just love that 3DS purple!!! I want to see a purple Wii U and for the ads, I want Prince singing a modified version of "Purple Rain"! _ What?! If you are going to bananas go all the way! Ask Donkey Kong!
Apparently some people need to read the definition of the word “hating” so here is the definition: 1. Feel intense or passionate dislike for (someone): "the boys hate each other". 2. Have a strong aversion to (something). I've been buying Nintendo products since the first NES. You can't hate something that you love. Apparently if I don't agree with everything Nintendo does I'm hating them. As a Nintendo fan I am upset and fustrated because: 1) Nintendo didn't show anything to get me interested for their new console. For the first time since the first NES I have no interest on buying their new console. 2) They used 10 minutes explaining how a minigame works; in giant room of gamers and press that's a terrible idea. You are not in a room full of soccer moms, they don't need an explanation of how a minigame works. 3) I know they had a short time to explain everything but ignoring the 3DS was a bad idea. They just needed 5 minutes to make a nice line-up video while the whole world is watching. Saying that “oh, sorry but we don't have time right now, comeback tomorrow” that was just weird. 4) Once again ignoring any good franchises: nothing about Zelda, Metroid, StarFox or even the new Animal Crossing. 5) Showing Batman, Mass Effect 3 and Ninja Gaiden 3 as your third party line-up for your new console is a dreadful idea. This games are already available right now for other consoles. You are sending the message that your NEXT gen console is a generation behind. 6) Even if the conference goes the wrong way, at least finish strong (public speech 101). Even if they didn't have any final product to show they just needed to show a picture of any old school franchise game in actual production to get the people excited at the end. Some fake fireworks in a minigame collection is not the best way to finish a press conference. Again the reason that many Nintendo fans are fustrated is not because they hate Nintendo. It's because they loved Nintendo for many years; and they have their right to express their fustation as long is done with respect. If you close your eyes and convinced yourself that everything is ok you are not fixing the problem you are just ignoring it.
Great article but I have to disagree. The biggest exclusives for the 3DS next year are not made by Nintendo: Monster Hunter 4, Kingdom Hearts and Dragon Quest are going to be best selling games of the year (at least in Japan). I don't think Luigi's Mansion or Animal Crossing are going to sell more in Japan than the previous mentioned titles.
I usually don't care that much about colors and limited editions but then I saw the picture from # 20. Kimiko and I changed my mind, I want that freaking metalic purple one!!
I don't think the problem is the price. The problem is the huge time gap between titles. There are months between one good title and the next one. Also Megaman Legends and AC being canceled are not helping either.
Keep complaining, keep buying used games: Assassins Creed 3DS and Mega Man 3DS already canceled. Then when you have just one good game each year blame Nintendo. I'm not defending Nintendo or Namco but I'm just tired of this argument... I understand people getting upset over Resident Evil but this? it's just a freaking number on the screen?! Who cares if that number comes from somebody else? You are not loosing any special feature! No wonder Nintendo ended up ignoring their own fanboys. I understand that this sounds unfriendly but Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft are here to get money. They are loosing a bunch of money in the used game market. They try to cut some of that money. Sony is starting his PSN PASS with Resistance 3 really soon; there you will have 1 single code to unlock the online mode. Look around you, EA and other companies are doing the same thing. This strategy is way more aggressive than locking up your Save File. You can play all the game modes without any problem.
Megaman Legends 3DS cancelled, Assassin's Creed 3DS cancelled, Sega moving 2 3DS titles to 2012, 3 JRPGs for the Wii not coming to the USA... and now this list... OK I think I changed my mind... TIME TO PANIC!!!!
Kind of funny coming from a company that takes content out of the disc to charge extra for the DLC and charges for online modes that should be included. A hypocrite is YOU!
The problem is that gamers can't understand the difference between core and mature. Most games rated M are played by teenagers (example Modern Warfare or GTA). What Nintendo should try to improve is the relationship between Japan, Europe and U.S.A. Americans and European fans are tired of look at Japan and see how many good games Nintendo has.
I didn't know that AiAi could help to solve crimes. At least sounds more useful than rolling all day in a ball capturing bananas that cannot enter inside the ball right?
I understand the negative points mentioned in the review but I have to say I love this game. The story, the graphics, the music, the Japanese voices, the gameplay, the missions, the replay value, changing fighters instantly with the touch screen, the military tactics, leveling up the weapons, the StreetPass, unlocking extras and so on. My favorite title on the 3DS so far. We don't have to agree on everything, personaly I think this game has a better gameplay than Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days or Kingdom Hearts Re:coded and both games got 7/10.
Those are some honest words. I think the best approach is some middle ground: meaning something between a Wii approach and the GameCube approach. GameCube had great titles and huge support from third parties but it didn't break records either. Be water my friend! XD

I just want to know the reason. I know they are different systems and everything but if I can see a list of the last 300 downloads from my ps3 to my psp, I just don't understand why I can transfer my downloads from the DSi to the new 3DS. They have the list! It shows if you log in onto Club Nintendo. I put a lot of money on the DSiWare and I really want to you play that on the new 3DS without having to pay again.
I don't care about the opinion of someone that doesn't have the minimum respect in a press conference to take his sun glasses out. I laughed so hard when one of the guys from X-Play looked at him and said "where did you find that glasses?" He looked so pissed! For a second I was worried he was going to punch the reporter on the face! If he has the same taste for games that he has for grandma glasses I rather get gamer lectures from Betty White. And let me guess, the unfulfilled promises from Nintendo's Wii are filled with Nat... I mean Kinect?? RIGHT!
