Yeah. Those poor, naive fools. Destined to become sad, bitter adults who live with the regret of ignoring World of Goo. I'll bet sales of My Pokemon Colon Polyp shot up in every country.
I hear Nintendo's working on a My Pokemon Abortion sequel already; they just announced the graphics will be upgraded from "eye-meltingly hideous" to "just awful," and the game after that will improve the graphics even more, to simply "unpleasant to look at" quality.
My Pokemon Ranch moved up FIVE spaces? turns into Angry German Kid AAAARRRRRGGGHHHHH!!!!! grabs keyboard and smashes it to pieces on desk, then plugs in new keyboard Yet another reason why Christmas should be cancelled. At least World of Goo remains at its well-deserved #1 spot.
Dear Nintendo, I promise to buy these when you grow a heart and a brain and try to release them:
1. Ducktales (NES) (It's a guaranteed hit, you clods!) 2. Starfox (SNES) (Come ON, Nintendo! You own this!) 3. TMNT IV: Turtles in Time (SNES) 4. Kirby's Dream Land 3 (SNES) 5. Animaniacs (Genesis) 6. Aladdin (Genesis) 7. Marko (a.k.a. Marko's Magic Football in U.K.) (Genesis. Nobody remembers it, but I'd REALLY like it on Wii) 8. Beetle Adventure Racing (N64) (Hurry up!) 9. The Lion King (Genesis) 10. Michael Jackson's Moonwalker (Genesis) (Hey, I'm curious!)
I finished the first Startropics after about six months - it's SADISTIC. Sometimes, the bosses shoot so much ammo at you, it's like running into a blizzard and dodging snow. I can't how many times I got a game over just before finishing a dungeon and had to start the dungeon ALL OVER. Yet, overall, I enjoyed the game.
The whole reason I became interested in the VC was for tons of under-appreciated games available at the click of a Wii remote. I don't like RPG's or shooters, so weeks in which the only choice is Enduro Racer or Boogerman are particularly rough.
Single-game weeks became the norm, and now Hudson is most likely gone... geez. Talk about going down in flames. While every week recently brings me closer and closer to abandoning the VC for good, the irritatingly persistent hope that they may return to two-game weeks keeps me coming back. GRRRRRR. Since at least one highly-anticipated WiiWare game came out this week, who knows what next year holds for the VC. Maybe Nintendo of America will get their $#%t together. Or, most likely, not.
And thus ends the year that had the most single-VC-game-weeks so far (or, in short, the FAILingest year yet.) Not with a crash or a bang, but a thud. Hey Nintendo, I have a New Year's resolution for ya: try taking the US Virtual Console seriously again!
On second thought, I loved the first Startropics... so I might get this... #&!%ing Nintendo.
That's exactly what I was gonna say! I just finished it too, and it NEEDS a sequel!
The weird thing is, the day I bought it, I HATED it, because I thought it was incredibly difficult, overpriced, and pretentious garbage, and I came close to deleting it. Now, though, I think it's not only the greatest Wiiware game, but one of my top 5 greatest Wii games period.
My only major complaint with the last few weeks can be simply described as follows: Nintendo is capable of releasing at least two games per week, yet, for no logical reason, they choose not to. There's no explanation given whatsoever for why are doing this.
Next week will be a single-game (better known as FAIL) week also. Guaranteed. And the next week. And the next week. And so on. Unless Nintendo gets slapped around enough. Way to be consistent, Nintendo! thumbs up
Yes, one game per week IS such a bad thing. Nintendo has the potential to release at least two, and they simply choose not to. Why they choose to keep the number of Virtual Console games as low as possible week after week, I honestly can't comprehend. They're not only irritating their fans, but limiting their own personal profit gain. It's stunning how counterintuitive and just plain idiotic they are.
I know the perfect way to get Castlevania 3 - tell Nintendo that you DON'T want it. That way, it's guaranteed to appear, considering Nintendo's pathetic relationship with its fans lately!
I wouldn't hold my breath on the "Nintendo would quit being so mediocre" wish, because impossible wishes are the most painful of all.
I hate Nintendo of America. gives double middle-fingers
I'm literally about an inch away from abandoning the Virtual Console for good. Since the VC's current mission consists solely of pissing off fans week after week, I don't feel like being a victim much longer. They know damned well how to make fans happy - they've been selling videogames for almost 30 YEARS. They're just being jerks. And they deserve to suffer, not us.
I also like Animal Crossing: CF. I played the Gamecube original to death, and I also played WW, but unfortunately, I got bored with it and sold it. So I guess CF is my replacement, because I don't think I should have gotten rid of WW. Oh well.
As for the chart: YAY, My Pokemon Mistake fell another spot! That makes me feel all giddy. Too bad Target Toss, Midnight Bowling and Pong Toss didn't fall as well.
I'd love to punch whoever approves U.S. VC releases right in the face. And knock all their teeth out in the process.
I already have Metal Slug Anthology on Wii, just like any Metal Slug fan with a Wii... and a brain. Keep the VC release schedule sucking by sucking Wii points from morons, Nintendo!
Raise your hand if you're excited about this week... NOW!
I'm guessing you didn't raise your hand.
I hope the f***tards responsible for the Virtual Console releases choke on their turkey just a little bit. Five easy words: SINGLE. GAME. WEEKS. F***ING. SUCK. I really can't stress it enough. If they've decided to dedicate a week to crap, WHY NOT attach a second crap game (Super Pitfall?) just to get it out of the way? So maybe next week can be less disappointing? Oh well. Go ahead, Nintendo, lose fans and alienate people.
At least the chain of single-game (read: FAIL) weeks has been broken.
I've always found Space Invaders pretty droning and repetitive. Why pay $8 for a compilation of it when you can easily find countless free versions on the Internet?
"It’s another one game week for the Virtual Console this week, but who can complain when the game is as good as Mega Man 3?"
Watch me.
Wow, three one-game weeks in a row. It's like a triple-layer-of-fail sundae! Bowlers would refer to it as a "turkey."
Is it good game? Yes. Is it really necessary to release only one VC game in a week? NO. Nintendo could easily release at least two. They're just being irritating for the sake of being irritating. Thus, they fail.
@ Tony Same with me. I recently got my first games in a LONG time - Boom Blox, Okami and de Blob - and with college midterms finally over, I'm currently occupied for a while.
I'm gonna get MadStone soon, along with World of Goo.
I'm anxiously awaiting Pong Toss's exit from the top 20. Sigh, I guess we'll be stuck with Midnight Bowling and Incredible Maze for a while (I'm guessing 50% of Incredible Maze's sales can be solely attributed to its use of the word "Incredible" to describe it, and the other 50% to its price.) But at least watching the sales of My Pokemon Ranch steadily fall makes me feel all giddy inside.
Gee, I could've sworn that Nintendo was capable of releasing more than one VC game today. Because, you know, a second game means another opportunity for them to make more money. Oh well, Nintendo's loss.
People who download Pong Toss are merely naive fools who will learn the error of their ways when college ends (if they survive the binging and drunk driving, that is.) Anyone who downloads My Pokemon Ranch, WITHOUT regretting it, deserves for their Wii to not only break down, but self-destruct, then cause a blackout and force them to eat nothing but spam and cold canned ravioli until they go to confession. "Please father, forgive me, I... bought My Pokemon Ranch and didn't regret it. I decided that I enjoy overpriced screen-savers with horrendous "cute" graphics SO MUCH, I must give Nintendo financial support to make more lazy crap just like it in the future, thus flipping the finger to the serious Pokemon fans who have actual taste in quality software" "Go away. NEXT!"
It would be nice if Nintendo had SOME quality standard for releasing games. Considering this game's sub-top-20 sales, though, it seems that people are finally getting smart about reading reviews, since they're all buying Tetris Party, World of Goo and Mega Man 9. But Midnight Bowling remains hot... probably not for long.
I'm gonna download this. The only other Wiiware game I have is Defend Your Castle, and I'm mulling over whether or not to get Mega Man 9 (I've never played a Mega Man game in my life.)
My Pokemon Ranch is at #17 in Sweden? While it's at #4 in America? I OFFICIALLY LOVE SWEDEN! The proud home of meatballs, IKEA, and best of all, My Pokemon Ranch haters! YEAAAHHH!!!! Smart people rock!
This looks awesome. And, as a result, I don't expect it to spend much time in the top 20.
It sickens me to think of how many people will skip this and buy crap like My Pokemon Ranch, SPOGS Racing, Pong Toss, My Pokemon Ranch, and My Pokemon Ranch instead. (I'm aware of the repetition. The existence of that "game" is still an utter F***ING tragedy.)
I DON'T prefer quantity over quality. I DON'T enjoy skimming though tons of uninteresting games to find something good. If I controlled the Virtual Console, I'd immediately remove universally-hated garbage like Donkey Kong Jr. Math, China Warrior, Urban Champion, etc. Whether you like it or not, junk like Super Pitfall is going to be released on the VC eventually. I think that the sooner they release it and get it out of the way, the better, because that's one less bad game to dread in the future.
Yep, JUST ONE VC GAME. Honestly, WHY don't they release a crap game alongside it, just to get it out of the way? I really wish Nintendo would stop the idiotic draaaaaaaaagggggggggiiiiinng out of the release schedule. Do they think gamers will value the game more if it's the only one released in a week or something? That's stupid.
1500 points would be a freakin' rip-off. For me to drop $15 on a WiiWare game, it better be a PHENOMENAL, Christmas-morning-esque experience of a game.
Ahhh, how could I forget that wonderful summer? Waking up whenever I wanted, taking relaxing walks on the sunny beach, and being completely disappointed by the variety-free Virtual Console release schedule, week after week.
I'm not angry that Mega Man 2 was released... I'm angry because Nintendo has the nerve to only ONE Virtual Console game this week, while there's an EPIC back-catalogue of underappreciated Nintendo, Sega and Turbografx games that deserve re-release. Give us a choice.

As a matter of fact, I do. Good game or not, single-game weeks fail at life. They're just a notch better than no-game weeks. They could've easily released a trash game (Super Pitfall?) alongside it to get it out of the way.

You know what? You're right.
I've wasted my life anticipating two-game weeks that aren't coming.
Goodbye forever, everyone!
And this is for real.
Since everyone here seems to have fallen in love with the "single-game week" concept, I feel it's best to remove myself ASAP.
