Sorry to hear your SD card transfers are that slow. 5mins is bloody awful for 320 blocks, I've never had an SD card that transfers so slowly: that's 136.5KBytes/second in real world figures! You'd almost be better off using dial-up
SD transfer is actually quite slow, RoyOfTheRovers. I'm stuck with a 1Mb/s download service at home and games take about two to four times as long to download as they do to transfer from SD card depending on connection quality. So, if you're on 4Mbps SD transfer is a matter of preference.
Of course, when the download to SD option comes along, you'll have the added convenience of having all the games available and playable from the off rather than having to delete and download.
Personally I'm not the slightest bit excited about the new storage solution. Whilst it won't be noticeable for small content like most C64, NES, SMS and even SNES, TGFX and Megadrive titles, the data transfer time for large block sizes will probably be too much for many people to bare - certainly once DLC come in at over 200 blocks. Could you imagine waiting 90 seconds to start each new mission to start in SIGE? I think it's laughable considering that the transfer is no more than around 42Mb.
I think people should just accept that Nintendo have screwed both gamers and themselves over by not providing a decent storage solution and just cope the best they can. Having no storage space is inconvenience but certainly not an excuse for not enjoying new titles. If people are interested in playing this game and its content then they should accept the sacrifice and not scupper the service just because Nintendo decided to be cheap-asses when designing the Wii.
AlexSays, you obviously aren't interested in this game and judging by your previous input in the comments I'd say your approach to this game is childish at best.
My statement was aimed at people who were wanting the game but complaining about space usage. I totally accept your not wanting the game but leave it at that rather than blathering on at some tangent that no-one else really cares about.
Square Enix isn't screwing anyone - the £3.50 asking price for the base game is fine for what it is and nothing is stopping people from buying the mission packs they want to at £3.50 a pop. Really, if you think the maximum asking price of £14 quid for a game is screwing people, you're obviously in the wrong forum and indeed the wrong century (people stopped complaining about paying £15 for a game back in the late 1980s)
@Starwolf_UK - You must have a squirrel powered SD interface because It usually takes no more than two and half to three minutes to copy 300 blocks of content to SD (if that) and considerably less time (around half) to copy the other way. Most smaller VC games (NES, MD, C64, TGFX) transfer to SD in under 20 seconds.
Once you've copied the game to SD, there's little need to copy it to SD card again (unless there's an update) so real-world transfer times are really quite insignificant unless you're going to die within a couple of minutes.
I've tried two SD cards, both from Sandisk. My Extreme III card was considerably more expensive (for expensive read about £12 rather than £3.20) and quite a bit quicker, but even a basic Sandisk II card isn't as half as slow as you state. It's one thing to moan about swapping files, its another to put people off by providing totally inaccurate timings just because you don't like the idea.
Your drone about Square Enix was equally entertaining ... and it's 'damn' by the way - not 'dam'. I'm sure a big containing wall would be of no concern to them - unless it stops their workers from getting in.
I can't believe you guys whine so much about storage on Wii. Just move some damned games off of your system and support WiiWare by buying this game.
If you need space on your Wii's here's a few tips: 1) Get rid of the Nintendo Channel and its save file and recover around 250 blocks. In fact, where possible, try to avoid any of the extra channels - you know it's the sane thing to do! Those things (when taken into consideration with their save files) are huge and how often do you use them really? 2) If you've played MaBoShi but have done with it for now, you can transfer it's rather large save file to SD card, freeing up another 40 blocks. 3) Move all the save games from your completed Wii/VC/WiiWare titles to SD - it's amazing how much room some of those buggers take up (particularly VC titles that save suspend data) 4) Remember, any additional DLC for Wii/WiiWare games can be redownloaded again for free (if for some reason it can't be transferrerd to SD card) I moved both my FFCC:MLaaK save file and DLC content to SD and freed 34 blocks. 5) As a last resort, every so often go through your message board and route out those pointless achievement pictures from Galaxy, Toki Tori and the like - you might only free a few blocks but every penny counts as they say. 6) FOR GOD'S SAKE DON'T DO WHAT I DID AND FORMAT YOUR WII'S INTERNAL MEMORY just to find out how much storage you get from a fresh setup. I lost all my friend codes plus it re-configures your Wii number which basically makes everyone else's efforts to register your Wii obsolete too! It's around 2,100 blocks by the way
Space Invaders Get Even is an awesome game and I'm incredibly impressed by the fact that they've made use of proper DLC in a WiiWare title. Plus the pricing is spot on. My only complaint is that I'd have given the game 9/10.
Oh, and before people start complaining about not having access to an SD card, you can pick a 2Gb card up from Amazon for less that £3.50. So you don't really have an excuse now, do you?
I'm glad we didn't get Strong Bad seeing as it sucks and I'm sick of seeing reviews that say each episode is more of the same. Lucky for us then we got a pretty strong week - I've actually managed to spend the 3,000 points I've been waiting to spend for the past month!
As one of the few occasions where NoE have done something right, I must congratulate them.
Meh, looking at the DLC I think it has limited appeal. Let's face it, the main game was probably a bit too harsh for most of the mere mortals that Nintendo are looking to to pick up WiiWare. Most will probably struggle to complete the main game, let alone an extra (harder) content. Just be appreciative that Capcom have even bothered to add extra content for you MM lovers out there.
Don't forget that Capcom are probably working on other stuff for WiiWare too - like more accessible games. I'm not saying easy, non-gamer stuff but games along the lines of Street Fighter which will probably be more profitable (and less prone to cries of tortured souls) in the long run.
If it's old bosses you're after revisiting - particularly from MM2 - why not just download the NES games on the VC? They're not that expensive and you get a whole game as an added bonus.
Come on guys. They're trying to fit a 3D RPG into 43Mb of storage. The graphics are going to look N64-like in terms of poly-count and animation. We can either have the quality or quantity (variety) when it comes to visuals - but not both. Plus, it's an early video of an RPG - since when has any video of an RPG inspired someone to buy it? Surely only sad people get excited about video footage of RPGs
Outside of looking pretty, FFCC:MLaaK wasn't that great. It was slow, boring and in all honesty those pretty visuals pretty much looked all the same. In fact I'd go so far as to say that it's nothing more than a money-grabbing whore of a game, but people rate it well non-the-less.
As for this game, I'm going to wait a little longer before passing judgment - hell, we might even be pleasantly surprised with the end product.
I for one welcome our puzzle game making overlords... with the rosy outlook that one day they may be beaten down by a small team of developers wielding a platformer and a board with a nail in it.
Totally agree with Objection_Blaster and Twilight Crow though. For 500 points, it'll be a steal. Which itself gets me worried - will this be yet another pay-for-levels game? If so, I retract my comment sir.
@Robster. I certainly do hope Bplus learn from their mistakes - they made a lot of very bad ones both in terms of gameplay and public-relations.
I don't hate Bplus, but I really don't agree with their methods in garnering people's interest through subversive methods and false-advertising and until they prove that they can do things right my opinions won't change. Considering the total lack of effort put into the tutorial video (ie. Bored in 30 seconds) I'd say they've got a long way to go. Personally I think they'd have been better off just working on their next project (if there is one) rather than wasting any more time on that monstrosity.
"Do you really have to stress the fact that you hate the game and you hate Bplus and hate everything surrounding them after every newsfact that comes out of their company? (despite the fact that I too find it questionable to have emloyees posting stuff without making themselves known)."
Sure do Robster!
On a more positive note - there is some good stuff that comes from Austria like strudel, music and Freud. Thank god for the past and my sweet tooth.
I was wondering what usage they'd make of their engine and it looks like plenty - as far as I can see there's bloom lighting (pretty obvious), bump mapping on the cars (check the last screenshot), reflection on the cars (again, last shot) and errr.... above N64 quality texture sizes (sorry, had to have a dig at SPoGs)
@SepticLemon - it does look like PSO, which is kind of depressing considering the game sucked quite badly and was probably my favourite in the series (I absolutely hate the 2D Phantasy Star games)
Hopefully Kemco can do a better job then - we are talking about Kemco here though ...
Looking forward to your views on Orbient. Sounds good, and looks ok form the tiny screenshot. Might help shift that extra 600 points I've got left over from buying songs for Samba De Amigo and Mega Man 9.
Sounds pretty good - probably a 7/10 game. Not sure that it's an essential purchase for me but I'd buy it should there be nothing else that interests me.
Err, Bplus - did you just smack European gamers around the chops for buying your product? What a bunch of loosers - I'd have accepted 1,200 points but 1,000? I'll tell you what, Dclueless: Pull yourselves out of the video games industry and go and do something - in fact, anything - right for a change.
Well done on getting MM9 America, now I'm dead jealous. Then again, we have Bomberman so I can cope for a little while longer... I think You've got a good VC week too!
Right, I'm off to design an icon with a B+ being crushed under a boot......
@Kriqz: Sheep? Really? I hated most of the ideas I gleaned about Plattchen well before it was reviewed on this site and the review only confirmed my fears. Plus I don't appreciate companies who try to self-promote their products through subversive methods like passing an employee off as a commenter.
I'm just glad WiiWare World caught them out and if Plattchen is an example of how Bplus work, I wouldn't care if they dropped of the face of the earth along with their crappy side projects.
@ x.SuperMario.x: Have been playing for a while, but it never clicked. Really struggled to get into it, but suddenly I'm storming through MM2 and loving every moment. The original Mega Man is still a complete b*#t'*d though - think I'll save that one until I've finished MM2 and MM9
My sentiments exactly. I too think Plattchen sucks and as for Mega Man 9, I probably won't purchase until I play past the second boss of Mega Man 2.
As for not getting past past one boss in a Mega Man game ... I actually got killed in Super Metroid well before my first boss battle. Not that I was put off by boss battles in either game, I find most boss battles rather enjoyable. What annoyed me most about Mega Man 2 was the crappy collision detection with mines.
Having seen the IGN review though, I think MM9 will be quite a bit more accessible which is a word I'd never assocaite with Plattchen.
Oy, which of you cheeky admin buggers changed my comment to imply that my bestest ... er, buddy, x.SuperMario.x is somewhat limited in his intellect. Why I oughta...... (grumbling, calculon goes to make a cup of tea before munching choccy biscuits and watching Predator)
Oh my god, here we go again. This review has spawned more replies about how Drake isn't right, we need user reviews, we have no faith in what the reviewers have to say, blah blah blah.
Drake corrected one minor over-sight and still thought the game was an awfully complicated mess - just accept the fact that he thought the game rated no higher than 3/10 and move on,
If you can't agree then buy the bloody thing or shut the hell up and go and find some form of self-gratification on another site. If a game ruins the most essential element of it's purpose then it deserves a poor rating - poor graphics and sound are manageable if the gameplay's good, but a game without decent gameplay might as well be a chore.
I think you guys are reading too much into scores like 5/10 from Eurogamer, who also agreed that it was overly complicated and eluded that most players wouldn't bother going too far. Quite frankly if that's the case, why give it an average score? It's not even a low average. I think people are falling into the trap that just because it's WiiWare it shouldn't be scrutinised as harshly and so I applaud Drake for doing what's right and meeting his review with the appropriate score rather than meeting up half-way with people's expectations of the developer..
By the way, way to make it sound like Drake is an idiot. There's only one idiot on the WiiWare World site and that's me ... and maybe x.SuperMario.x. (just kidding there fella)
You know what people who want reader reviews are saying to me?
"I have no faith in the guys who do the official reviews"
If you don't like what the review has to say, go to another site and watch the game get a bashing there too before you realise the truth. Eurogamer might have given Plattchen a 5/10 but from what I gathered it was really more of a 4/10 but someone was being nice.
It's a good job I'm not reviewing half these games because WWW would need some serious anti-hate filters in place Maybe the team should give me a slot ... call me Uncle Grumpy or something and write down on my profile that I like to eat small children and make designer furniture out of live puppies, or something to that effect....
@maka - Nope, here's my last resort. I'll lay it out in plain, simple English.
We've heard your rant and appreciate that you like the game. Sadly, you don't understand that most people appreciate the quality of the reviews at WiiWare World and have used this site and it's sister site, VC Reviews to get a good idea of how hundreds of games play and hence trust these guys to lay it out like it is so we don't just blunder in and buy on a whim (well, maybe I still do when I'm drunk)
Drake is an excellent reviewer and I recognise that he and the rest of the team put a great deal more effort into promoting and reviewing WiiWare and VC games than most mainstream magazines and even the big publishers do. I also respect them a great deal because they're willing to put up with a great deal of slack from dumb-assed commenters like me moaning about some of their scores
At the end of the day, it's fine to put your point across if you disagree but quite frankly, your efforts are so excessive that they're simply giving people reason to attack you rather than the game which is why I'm asking ... no begging you, to stop. The whole argument's really tired and I question why you're coming back to the site if you're feel so negative about the reviews ( I notice an attack on one review has now become all-encompassing) and the commenters.
@Doogle - I wouldn't worry too much about maka, you know what they say about empty vessels right?
@maka - End of the day, some people like the game (i.e. you and cms) and the rest don't, it's that simple. I think the best thing for you to do is to play all 100+ hours of what Bplus want to torture us with and then write your own review - at least that should give the rest of us about 2 weeks of peace and quiet from your incessant ramblings.
@Luc Bernard, you have nothing to be ashmed of with Eternity's Child. I downloaded it on Steam and it never deserved the battering it got from Destructoid. it wasn't a 8+ game but certainly was well above average.
By the way, it's best to curse when you're drunk. You get to say what you really feel and feel so cursedly bad in the morning you don't care how you feel about what you said the night before. Confused? Yep, I'm drunk too
@Dazza. You beat me to the punch there. I was thinking exactly the same thing about cms when I read his comments an hour ago.
I think Bplus and their 'associates' should stop digging themselves an even deeper grave. Really this self-promotion is not doing them any good at all.
@Damo. You guys are my heroes. If I wasn't married and straight and not wanting to stress out my pregant wife I'd kiss ya! I completely agree that user review scores are not necessary.
Looks bad. Big Brain Academy was bad (DS brain training and academy games are much better imo) People will buy though. I think Gameloft may slip up on this release which is a shame considering their last games were solid if thoroughly uninspiring.
I'd agree with you on the Bomberman series being only 8 worthy so I'll revel in the fact that this game is 100% on the Bomberman scoring scale. Nice review Marcel!
Awesome game, first time I've enjoyed buying a WiiWare game since Actionloop Twist and finally a game to make a worthy top 5 (FFCC, Toki Tori, Star Soldier R, Actionloop Twist and Bomberman)
/I checked out the manual for Plattchen and in all honesty, I know how it's meant to play and I can safely say I'll stick to MiniClip for that sort of game.
As for Bomberman - it's awesome. Played my first match against five people and it is intense to say the least. The fact that you can still interfere with the game after you're dead (by firing bombs onto the field) is quite cool too. Looking forward to playing all of the battle fields so I can unlock my Mii.
WiiBoy, I wouldn't expect Bomberman to stay of the top twenty list for too long.
Forgot to add, I'd like to see a decent racer on WiiWare too seeing as that's something that's lacking on all fronts (disc, VC and WiiWare)
And yes, we do have a couple of Mario Karts and F-Zeros but being a greedy b't'rd I want something different and better. WiiWare's already 1upped native disc based developers by providing professional downloadable content, why not push to be even greater, rather than just a maybe service?
A good month? Definitely not something that plainly contradicts the statement made when selecting the WiiWare option of the shop channel (which mentions original and exclusive)
Seeing as Mega Man 9 is questionably original and definately not exclusive it shouldn't be on the service. Gradius is also questionably original. World of Goo is not going to be WiiWare in Europe and instead will be coming in at the more-than-likely rediculous price of £30 and Strong Bad is just plain poo.
A good month would involve some decent ideas like, oh say a good 3D platformer, a decent shmup with more lifespan than Star Soldier R and a complete lack of puzzle games for a change. Ultimately, I'd put up with Bomberman only to make my WiiWare month worthwhile.
If the vomit-inducing line-up of 7/10 and 8/10 reviews on the site is truly an indication of the quality of games the service will continue to offer, I'll be glad to save some money and just live the dream as quite frankly WiiWare is a joke at the moment.
Corbie, they won't use the SD card slot (unless they're insane) because it's just too damned slow. It'd be laughable for expect people to wait nearly a minute before most TGFx CD, N64 and Neo Geo games load when most native games take less than 15 seconds to load from disc. Plus the encryption layer can be applied to any media, not just SD.
Maybe they're going to approach the solution using a USB pluggable memory pack for the WiiMote and add extended Mii support and maybe a few preloaded VC titles. Personally, I'm looking forwad to this one more than any other announcement Nintendo have made this year.
@StarWold_UK - the trouble with compression is that: a) Compression and encryption tend not to go hand in hand. b) Many of the games already use some form of compression to store data so further compression is of questionable worth in some cases. c) Whilst I agree with you on the redundant file point, I doubt a HTML file or two will even fill one block (128KB) of storage even if stored raw (hell, my Firefox bookmarks file only just covers 1.5 blocks and that's got 120+ links in it)
My thanks to whoever put the image of Calculon onto my profile for me, by the way!
It's funny, but even before I read your review I thought "I bet this game gets a seven" - I'll read your review now
Sounds a reasonable game and worthy of the score (which makes a change) I might buy it unless something radically creative appears on WiiWare. In other words, I probably will buy it unless Tetris appears first in the EU. Well done on your first project Empty Clip Studios.
x.SuperMario.x wrote: Isn't complaining about negative comments, being just as negative...? Probably, which is kindve wierd since in trying to get everyone to look on the bright side I come off as a bitter jerkface.
Can you imagine how boring this site would be if everyone responded with "Nice release but I shall kindly pass"...
WarioFan63 replied: Id actually prefer it! Much better then seeing "This is the crappiest crap to ever crap" or "Why do you hate me NIntendo?" or "Where have all the good games gone?" etc. etc. all the time.
My Ten Cents: Nope, I have to agree with x.SuperMario.x - passive comments do bugger all to elude to how well a game will be received and how people feel about the service.
The main reason why people whine so much about games like these is because most of them - like myself - are getting sick and tired of seeing some uninspiried money-sucking lame-game idea arrive. There's a reason why most of these types of game end up on the web (or a retro-remakes for PC download) for free because there's too many of them and most are either too obscure or too similar to existing ideas to warrant most people's excitement.
As a programmer, I've had plenty of game ideas but am sensible enough to step back and look at them before coding. I think the only reason some WiiWare developers are writing half of these games is because the service is flawed in the fact that there's little or no previewable content before people buy. The service literally guarantees a good whack can be made before the alarm bells set in. You only have to look at the US Top 20 list to see what I mean.
Everything has its place and Nintendo's usual screwed up approach has opened the door for people to take advantage of the situation. Whilst it means that Nintendo and the developer gain large amounts of income from these flawed products, many people are starting to feel wary of the service.
Oh, and just to make myself even more popular, I for one believe retro content belongs on the VC. I wouldn't feel cheated if MM9 arrived on XBLA or PSN and not on WiiWare and I feel the same about Gradius. Nor would I care if they didn't exist at all - I know if they hadn't been mentioned they'd have been the last thing on my mind as a remake. It's not the fact that they could be great games - it's the fact that there's still tonnes of retro content available for the VC and projects like these just go to show that companies like Capcom have more money than sense.
Most importantly though, I feel that Nintendo should seriously rectify the glaring issue of non-previewable content. Otherwise I see their current approach doing more harm than good to the service. Wary buyers do not make good buyers.
Looks seriously weird but somehow quite interesting. I think I've seen the light (sorry) as to how it plays and the sharing aspects will add quite a bit to the game.
And yes, the Link/Ganon bit was pretty awesome. Just hope the rest of the world doesn't catch on, resulting in hundreds of Tingles.
And with that (szwup! wup!, cabang! - or whatever Tingle says) I wish you guys all the best on your project.
Looks good. As long as the price is right and the controls work, it might be worth the purchase. Hopefully the other courses are a little more inventive.

Re: Review: World of Goo (WiiWare)
Sounds good, but I'm buying it over Steam. $19.99 is a steal compared to what it'll cost us in the UK, despite the loss of the extra level.
Re: How to play Plättchen - Twist 'n' Paint
Re: How to play Plättchen - Twist 'n' Paint
"Do you really have to stress the fact that you hate the game and you hate Bplus and hate everything surrounding them after every newsfact that comes out of their company? (despite the fact that I too find it questionable to have emloyees posting stuff without making themselves known)."
Sure do Robster!
On a more positive note - there is some good stuff that comes from Austria like strudel, music and Freud. Thank god for the past and my sweet tooth.
Re: Introducing High Voltage Hot Rod Show for WiiWare
I was wondering what usage they'd make of their engine and it looks like plenty - as far as I can see there's bloom lighting (pretty obvious), bump mapping on the cars (check the last screenshot), reflection on the cars (again, last shot) and errr.... above N64 quality texture sizes (sorry, had to have a dig at SPoGs)
Re: Introducing High Voltage Hot Rod Show for WiiWare
Looks like they've taken Excite Truck and made an overhead version. If it plays anything like Excite Truck, they're on to a winner.
I'm looking forward to this more than Animales which I think will get pretty samey real quick. At least with a racer you expect that.
Re: Brand New Sorcery Blade Screenshots
@SepticLemon - it does look like PSO, which is kind of depressing considering the game sucked quite badly and was probably my favourite in the series (I absolutely hate the 2D Phantasy Star games)
Hopefully Kemco can do a better job then - we are talking about Kemco here though ...
Re: USA WiiWare Update: Bomberman Blast And Art Style: ORBIENT
Looking forward to your views on Orbient. Sounds good, and looks ok form the tiny screenshot. Might help shift that extra 600 points I've got left over from buying songs for Samba De Amigo and Mega Man 9.
Re: First Impressions: Madstone
Sounds pretty good - probably a 7/10 game. Not sure that it's an essential purchase for me but I'd buy it should there be nothing else that interests me.
Re: Review: Mega Man 9 (WiiWare)
Good review Corbie. Yay!, first post - I hope - doh!
Re: USA WiiWare Update: Mega Man 9 and Plättchen
Do it Corbie. Do it do it do it do it!
Ahem - sorry about that - just a little enthusiastic about seeing the review on this one
Re: Mega Man 9 Downloadable Content List
Endless and Proto for me first, then Special Stage because it arrives the day after my birthday, yay!
Re: USA WiiWare Update: Mega Man 9 and Plättchen
Oh man, why couldn't we get Mega Man 9 instead of Plattchen..... we'd better get it this week Nintendo!
Re: USA WiiWare Update: Mega Man 9 and Plättchen
Err, Bplus - did you just smack European gamers around the chops for buying your product? What a bunch of loosers - I'd have accepted 1,200 points but 1,000? I'll tell you what, Dclueless: Pull yourselves out of the video games industry and go and do something - in fact, anything - right for a change.
Well done on getting MM9 America, now I'm dead jealous. Then again, we have Bomberman so I can cope for a little while longer... I think You've got a good VC week too!
Right, I'm off to design an icon with a B+ being crushed under a boot......
Re: Plättchen: Twist 'n' Paint Going Up Against Mega Man 9
@Kriqz: Sheep?
Re: Plättchen: Twist 'n' Paint Going Up Against Mega Man 9
@ x.SuperMario.x: Have been playing for a while, but it never clicked. Really struggled to get into it, but suddenly I'm storming through MM2 and loving every moment. The original Mega Man is still a complete b*#t'*d though - think I'll save that one until I've finished MM2 and MM9
Re: Plättchen: Twist 'n' Paint Going Up Against Mega Man 9
STOP PRESS: Calculon has fallen in love with Mega Man. I will be buying MM9!
Re: Plättchen: Twist 'n' Paint Going Up Against Mega Man 9
My sentiments exactly.
Re: Plättchen: Twist 'n' Paint Going Up Against Mega Man 9
It'd be funny if Plattchen came out at the same time as Bomberman and Mega Man - how much more of a lesson in ass-kicking would Bplus need?
Then again, looks like they need a lesson in game design first, then sales.
Re: Review: Plättchen: Twist 'n' Paint (WiiWare)
Oy, which of you cheeky admin buggers changed my comment to imply that my bestest ... er, buddy, x.SuperMario.x is somewhat limited in his intellect. Why I oughta...... (grumbling, calculon goes to make a cup of tea before munching choccy biscuits and watching Predator)
Re: Review: Plättchen: Twist 'n' Paint (WiiWare)
Re: Review: Plättchen: Twist 'n' Paint (WiiWare)
Re: Review: Plättchen: Twist 'n' Paint (WiiWare)
Re: Review: Plättchen: Twist 'n' Paint (WiiWare)
@Doogle - I wouldn't worry too much about maka, you know what they say about empty vessels right?
@maka - End of the day, some people like the game (i.e. you and cms) and the rest don't, it's that simple. I think the best thing for you to do is to play all 100+ hours of what Bplus want to torture us with and then write your own review - at least that should give the rest of us about 2 weeks of peace and quiet from your incessant ramblings.
Re: Review: Plättchen: Twist 'n' Paint (WiiWare)
@Luc Bernard, you have nothing to be ashmed of with Eternity's Child. I downloaded it on Steam and it never deserved the battering it got from Destructoid. it wasn't a 8+ game but certainly was well above average.
By the way, it's best to curse when you're drunk. You get to say what you really feel and feel so cursedly bad in the morning you don't care how you feel about what you said the night before. Confused? Yep, I'm drunk too
Re: Review: Plättchen: Twist 'n' Paint (WiiWare)
Sometimes
Re: Review: Plättchen: Twist 'n' Paint (WiiWare)
Re: Gameloft's Brain Challenge Comes To WiiWare
Looks bad. Big Brain Academy was bad (DS brain training and academy games are much better imo) People will buy though. I think Gameloft may slip up on this release which is a shame considering their last games were solid if thoroughly uninspiring.
Re: Review: Plättchen: Twist 'n' Paint (WiiWare)
No comment Can I have a job reviewing games now Drake?
Just kidding, good review though.
Re: Sandy Beach Coming To WiiWare Soon
Holy hell in a hand grenade . What's this crap? Building sand castles, ASBO crabs? You've got to be kidding me!
Oh, well WiiWare World did say we've reached the peak of WiiWare development so I guess it's all downhill from now on
Re: Review: Bomberman Blast (WiiWare)
I'd agree with you on the Bomberman series being only 8 worthy so I'll revel in the fact that this game is 100% on the Bomberman scoring scale. Nice review Marcel!
Awesome game, first time I've enjoyed buying a WiiWare game since Actionloop Twist and finally a game to make a worthy top 5 (FFCC, Toki Tori, Star Soldier R, Actionloop Twist and Bomberman)
Re: EU WiiWare Update: Plättchen, Bomberman Blast, and Midnight Pool!
@Quimby - I hear ya there buddy! But don't worry, I'm sure WiiWare still have plenty of shovelware to share around.
Re: EU WiiWare Update: Plättchen, Bomberman Blast, and Midnight Pool!
Re: World of Goo To Hit WiiWare In October?
Forgot to add, I'd like to see a decent racer on WiiWare too seeing as that's something that's lacking on all fronts (disc, VC and WiiWare)
And yes, we do have a couple of Mario Karts and F-Zeros but being a greedy b't'rd I want something different and better. WiiWare's already 1upped native disc based developers by providing professional downloadable content, why not push to be even greater, rather than just a maybe service?
Re: World of Goo To Hit WiiWare In October?
Re: World of Goo To Hit WiiWare In October?
I'll pass on this, MM9, Gradius and Strong Bad Ep2. Guess everyone's got a different opinion on what makes a great month.
Re: Nintendo’s Storage Solution: Better Than HDD, Expected Soon
Wow, such little faith guys.
@StarWold_UK - the trouble with compression is that:
a) Compression and encryption tend not to go hand in hand.
b) Many of the games already use some form of compression to store data so further compression is of questionable worth in some cases.
c) Whilst I agree with you on the redundant file point, I doubt a HTML file or two will even fill one block (128KB) of storage even if stored raw (hell, my Firefox bookmarks file only just covers 1.5 blocks and that's got 120+ links in it)
My thanks to whoever put the image of Calculon onto my profile for me, by the way!
Re: Review: Groovin' Blocks (WiiWare)
It's funny, but even before I read your review I thought "I bet this game gets a seven" - I'll read your review now
Sounds a reasonable game and worthy of the score (which makes a change) I might buy it unless something radically creative appears on WiiWare. In other words, I probably will buy it unless Tetris appears first in the EU. Well done on your first project Empty Clip Studios.

x.SuperMario.x wrote:
Isn't complaining about negative comments, being just as negative...?
Probably, which is kindve wierd since in trying to get everyone to look on the bright side I come off as a bitter jerkface.
Can you imagine how boring this site would be if everyone responded with "Nice release but I shall kindly pass"...
WarioFan63 replied:
Id actually prefer it! Much better then seeing "This is the crappiest crap to ever crap" or "Why do you hate me NIntendo?" or "Where have all the good games gone?" etc. etc. all the time.
My Ten Cents:
Nope, I have to agree with x.SuperMario.x - passive comments do bugger all to elude to how well a game will be received and how people feel about the service.
Re: Studio Walljump Announces Liight For WiiWare
Looks seriously weird but somehow quite interesting. I think I've seen the light (sorry) as to how it plays and the sharing aspects will add quite a bit to the game.
And yes, the Link/Ganon bit was pretty awesome. Just hope the rest of the world doesn't catch on, resulting in hundreds of Tingles.
And with that (szwup! wup!, cabang! - or whatever Tingle says) I wish you guys all the best on your project.
Re: Fun! Fun! Minigolf - Screenshots And Info
Looks good. As long as the price is right and the controls work, it might be worth the purchase.
Hopefully the other courses are a little more inventive.
