Re: Talking Point: Do We Still Need Review Scores?

XyORIONyX

Scores/reviews are important considering there are a lot of games that cost a lot of money. I personally can't afford all of them and rely on reviews and scores to determine which games I want to dish money out for. I think one thing that would help each gaming website with reviews is having a basic criteria that each reviewer uses instead of posting their own opinions as an absolute. Ultimately most people use more than one source to make their decision anyway, so yes give scores on reviews.

People must also remember that for Smash 4 the single player cut scenes were all leaked which is the weird reason why they cut that out of the game. It is possible they are being so silent about single player is because they want it to generally be a surprise later on. The other option being that they were so butt hurt over the Smash 4 leaks that they really did cut out any single player story for any game going forward.

I can't really figure out why not having a single player ruins this game for so many people. The game was literally created to be a multiplayer game to fight against friends, it since then morphed into one of Nintendo's only "pro" games. I understand that having a little single player mode would be a nice added bonus but get real with yourselves about what this game is supposed to be. If your looking for a great involved single player game this is not that.

I don't know how you can hate on changes made to a franchise like this. Honestly I played melee for years and years and loved it, but really that game only has like 4 playable characters. Brawl was kind of a waste (accidental trips...) but Smash 4 to me was a pretty good balance, if Ultimate is inbetween melee and 4 then it's probably going to be the best mechanic wise. I'm pretty pumped.

Re: Soapbox: Pokémon GO’s ‘Casual’ Influence On The Mainline Series Is A Good Thing, At Least For Now

In whole I am very excited for this game, it's the perfect thing to bridge new, casual and core fans to the switch. Gamefreak will learn a lot from each fan base plus I'm sure they already have learned a lot about what the switch can do moving forward for Gen 8. They needed to see what they were working with. Even though I'm not a fan of not fighting a pokemon before catching, I am excited to see an updated Kanto.

I've been playing this game since it first came out and from what I see I am excited. Obviously this is the bridge game to Gen 8. It allows them to try out so many things and gauge the reactions of both core fans and new. The graphics are a big step up and could definitely get way better for the next game. Only thing I'm not happy about is not battling the wild pokemon... However glad that after a decade they finally allow a pokemon to follow you again! Gamefreak gave us all a game to play on switch while we wait for them to finish Gen 8 and that's pretty cool.

I just started playing it last night. I find the game play very fun, and the controls are easy not "fiddly". It's a little easy (on normal) but it looks great and there is enough in the game to make it worth playing. Maybe 20$ is a little much, should probably be 15$ tops. I'd give it a higher score than a 6 though. I'd give this like a ....7.7

The move to remake/update the yellow version makes sense for Gamefreak. They have never worked on anything like the switch before and didn't know what they were dealing with so instead of making a bad GEN 8 game first they decided to remake yellow in a region they know very well. It will teach them a ton about the switch while at the same time touch the nostalgia of the world. It also gives them way more time to create new pokemon with better designs then we have been getting

Re: Video: Can This Star Fox: Grand Prix Rumour Become a Reality?

XyORIONyX

I'd much rather have a fusion Star Fox game that was half RPG half flying shooter. Could be you have to go from planet to planet (for whatever reason) have to do puzzles and "temples" like adventures, but at the end of each planet you have to get into your F-wing and fly through the last bit and defeat a boss. Also you would use Falco as well as fox and slippy would be dead.
