But you will, because they will force you, to do it over and over (again). So, make your wallet ready.
I am more than happy, that the "motion" gaming, that the Wii, PS3 Move and Xbox Kinect represented is gone. The "new" Virtual Reality is just a new-gen fashion fad that will also pass quickly.
I have to say, there were some solid games on the Wii. Sadly, the video output was bad even for the 2000s. Nintendo could at least built in an HDMI output. They tried to correct this with the Wii U, but it was too late.
@JustMe The original was trashy already. The joke is that the knight was always moving strangely, that is, he was faster than his surroundings. Still, he didn't get really far ahead. Isn't it absurd?
@Lordd_G
Actually, in last month (January 2021) I did read a rumor about this, that at least one mayor "player" in the PC/videogame industry is in talks to aquire SEGA/SEGA Sammy Holdings.
Oh and I almost forgot: SEGA had big loose with their arcade business last year.
Also, last year (2020) Codemasters was bought by EA and Microsoft bought ZeniMax Media (parent of Bethesda) or at least are in the process of being purchased.
The PC version is very solid. It works without problems and, as it was made mostly for kids in mind, there are many unlockables...
My nieces like to play this game.
It works great with combination of keyboard + gamepad (Xbox generic clone). It has 2, 3 and even 4 play local splitscreen! Local splitscreen in todays racing games are a very rare thing today.
@RupeeClock
Yeah, mostly downgrades (like the remove of the Gamecube port, memorycard and similar)
And than the Wii mini...
That was even a more of a downgrade. They removed the SD card slot, removed the Wifi (so no Web/Internet access), removed the component video output... just to name a few. And the whole thing (the build quality) seemed much cheaper in comparison to the original Wii.
USA - 788 total, about 690 MB; * Europe - 610 total, about 560 MB; * Japan - 1551 total - about 1.5 GB; * for Korea, there are 2 games; * Hongkong has 1 game; * there are some betas, bad dumps, some unlicensed etc.
total is about 3792 known Nintendo Super NES/Famicom games (from 2003)
Well, here where I live, it wasn't problematic, to get on of these NES minis.
There were a bunch of NES mini boxes... I've grabbed one from the shelf, the price was/is 70 EUR.
One of the guys, that work there and I know him, said, they've got about 100 pcs with the first shippment (that was in december 2016) in 50 pcs now in february 2017 (attention: for the whole country!), yet it still didn't sold out.
NX is not using x86 architecture like PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The NX has special, custom-made chips and the overall design of the hardware is very modern. The chips are industry leading because they are very modern chips, but having modern chips doesn't necessarily mean Nintendo is aiming to create the most powerful hardware on the market.
So, since it won't be any x86 arhitecture, but again PowerPC or someting like ARM type ... Than we can say bye-bye to 3rd Party (big studios) games support from the start.

maybe some fidelity is lost, but my eyes hurt from watching a game on CRT TV or CRT monitor...
Emulators have many options:

Emulation has more good things, one of them is the pixel-sharp image, that you wont get out of these old consoles and cartridges.

Re: Civilization VI - New Frontier Pass Detailed, Six DLC Packs To Launch Over The Next Year
@The-Chosen-one:
Are you sure, that Civilization is a RTS game? Because Command and Conquer is, but I don't think , that this game is.
I have a feeling, that Civilization is more similar to games like Heroes of Might and Magic, Nectaris/Military Madness and such.
Re: UK Retailer GAME To Close 40 Stores In "Rationalisation Programme"
I did buy some use (pre-owned) and also new games from them, when they had relatively low shipment prices to Europe.
But this was years ago in the late years of PS2 and golden era of Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles. And when they had many PC games too on CD/DVDs.
They even had promos/sales like buy 2 choose 3 for 10 ₤ and such.

I would give it at least 6/10.

I think that there is a slight difference in color. Look:
The top seems like gold, beneath of that the second one seems like its brown.

Can someone tell me, what does "M2" stand for and why it is so important (some commenters mentioned it above)?
Anyway, I am also interested in this thing.
Re: Real-Time Strategy Hit Swords & Soldiers Has Just Surprise-Launched On Nintendo Switch
I am on of these fans of Sword & Solider. I really liked the first (this) version.
Never had a chance to play the second, since I only had the good old white Wii.
Anyway, hope that I can soon get a Switch and play this game.
Re: Project Highrise: Architect’s Edition Is Building Towards A Release On Switch This Month
It reminds me of SimTower for PC/Mac in the 90s.

I played the granddaddy of this, when they called it Dark Sector.
Re: Burnout Paradise HD Remaster Confirmed For PS4, But Where Does That Leave Switch?
It is very sad, that today we don't really have many new arcade racers (except Mario Kart) as we had in the past.
I don't play simulations.

Well, I have a list here...
total is about 3792 known Nintendo Super NES/Famicom games (from 2003)

Yeah, I made myself an Pi 3 console. Works great with Recalbox.
Re: 505 Games Unleashes New Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night E3 2017 Trailer
For whatever reason this game reminds me of old games from the mid 90s, like:

Bermuda Syndrome:

And similar, there is a never "indie" game - Age Of Barbarian - that has somehow similar graphics:

Re: January NPD Results Show the NES Classic Edition Was the Third Best-Selling Console of the Month

There are still some boxes available in their online store:
https://www.bigbang.si/igralne-konzole/nintendo-classic-mini-nes-classic-edition-593197#
The only thing, that isn't in the box, that the US version has is the AC adapter. You only get an mini USB to normal USB cable
So you need a modern TV with USB support or buy an USB adapter with 1A/0.5V support... or USB hub, that has AC adapter included.

Re: The Famicom Mini Passed a Quarter of a Million Sales at Launch in Japan
The question is: will they (Nintendo) in the future release a minimized version of their other consoles with built in games aswell?
Like SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii or even the Wii U?

Re: Rumour: Sources Go to Battle Again Over Nintendo NX Power
@liveswired: if there will be enough interesting games and they will get rid of this Gamepad, it can be a real success.
For 3rd party support, I already given up on Nintendo front ...
Re: Rumour: Sources Go to Battle Again Over Nintendo NX Power
@empsolo: maybe. But does it have enough raw power? ARM vs x86?
