It just came to Mac but I haven’t tried that yet. I play it mostly on the Retroid 5 because I, like you, need physical controls. Really great game.

Taking part again! Last weekend was dominated by all the great new stuff of Playdate, but this weekend it’s all about Infinity Nikki. It just came to Mac with a new update so I’ll be playing that. Still waiting on a Switch 2 version - I’d love to play it there.

This weekend is very much a Playdate weekend. Office Chair Curling, Dig Pit Runner, Pongerground and Devils on the Moon Pinball are all new and all competing for attention.

Back to the Switch 2 next week. Still gotta finish FF7 before part 2 comes out.

In other news, new games won’t be coming to the Game Boy Advance.

@Serpenterror case in point - you care about Game Key Cards, you are super upset about it to the point that I disgust you, and yet here we are: the world at large still doesn’t really care.

People will go see this movie and like it. People will still buy Nintendo games and not even think for a second if it’s on the card or it’s a download or… it’s exhausting even typing that, let alone actually caring about it! I mean… really?

@whitemage well said. Anyone using “woke” in the derogatory is pretty much advertising that they aren’t to be taken seriously. Glad I missed those reviews.

Everyone hates everything online. Case in point: Game Key Cards. No one in real life gives a damn, but people here act like their existence is a sign of the end of humanity.

The movie is probably a lot of fun. As a former game critic of 15 years and 2,000+ reviews published - please decide for yourself.

My copy of Maximum Carnage is in the basement, complete in box. Red cart and everything. I couldn’t sell it - that game brought me so much joy back in the day.

Excellent news. I went all digital during the 3DS era and haven’t looked back. Haven’t missed going to the store or the clutter one bit.

The real reason I switched is because I was professionally reviewing games back then and fewer and fewer physical games were making their way to me so… I went digital.

Now it’s saving me money! Another perk!

I would be excited to try this. Won’t get hyped until it’s actually on the system, tho.

Believe it or not, I still have the boxes and instructions for both games, and if you remember the yellow price tickets you had to bring to the register to get the games out of the cages, I somehow have both those too.

My greatest regret is not keeping the box, instructions, and price ticket for the game I got the next year, the greatest video game of all time, Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!!

So anyone else remember the year 1989? Likely not. I’m old enough to have been born much earlier, and that was the first year I bought a game with my own money. Two actually - Ninja Gaiden and Karate Kid for NES. Anyone care to guess how much they were at Danbury Fair Mall’s Toys R Us? That’s right - $69.99 a piece.

Despite all the complaining from those with no historical perspective, video games have been consistently priced for more than four decades.

I will keep my thoughts on republicans to myself as I don’t want a ban or a visit from the FBI.

@MetalGear_Yoshi You nailed it. Outside of online comment sections, almost no one cares about this stuff.

I don’t know if the Starfy games were included but seeing as they aren’t in the top 10, I have to think they were left out. Makes sense - Japanese only. But they are some of the best platformers on the system, and Denstsu no Stafy 4 on DS is still my favorite platformer of all time.

Looks briefly at Pokemon Animal Crossing but nah. We don’t spend a cent on Pokemon products until the National Dex is back.

Still playing through the FF7Remake on Switch 2, but also gonna spend some time with Infinity Nikki and Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order on my Retroid 5.

I saw the catchphrase on a poster in a store YESTERDAY. But yeah… Pokemon is no longer for me.

We don’t spend money on Pokemon anymore. Until the catchphrase “gotta catch em all” is true again and the National Dex is brought back, Pokemon is a deader franchise in this house than F-Zero

Still no National Dex. Pokémon games are an easy skip and a great way to save money til they bring it back!

The Switch version, even with low framerate, was never unplayable. The problem is that Arkham Knight just isn’t a very good game, especially compared to the previous two.

Aaaand there goes the excitement. :/

Ever get tired of endless complaining about frame rate, resolution, and GCKs? Try video games. They’re fun to play and don’t require all this hemming and hawing over nothing.

Never played Hollow Knight; wasn’t hyped. Bought into the hype yesterday and I’m glad I did. After the third “boss” (bigger than usual and more hits), I can see myself playing this to 100%, like so many metroidvanias I’ve loved before. Nice work, Team Cherry - guess I’ll try Hollow Knight next!

@ElkinFencer10 Completely agree. If you spend all your time going on about resolution and frame rate, you aren’t much of a gamer. You are a PC spec enthusiast, for sure, but no gamer.

DuckTales and Mega Man 2 ran at like 10fps. You’re gonna tell me those are bad games?!

@Aeralto I 1000% accept that my time with Pokémon is over. I’ve been ok with that since the announcement the National Dex was going away.

If it ever came back, though, I’d be first in line!

I made an account on this site (I visit a lot, just never signed up to comment) especially for this article.

They lost the hardcore with the elimination of the National Dex, and we aren't coming back. My Living Dex remains in the final 3DS game, and I won't be purchasing another Pokemon game til it is back.
