@OorWullie I genuinely dislike 3D objective based Mario's. Banjo did it better on N64 and the genre has stunk since. 3D Land and World were 2D Mario's in 3D and I loved them, but going back to 3D Mario just disappoints me.
I asked NG Dev Team about porting there established library to Switch as they make some great indie games, owned many on the Dreamcast and they often get high praise.
But they responded by informing me how Ninty is very strict and controlling with dev kits and they don't just give them out to anyone.
They have around 9 games now they could port over that are all ready and complete and I'd rebuy them all to have them on Switch. So it's a shame. Especially as some shovelware like Has Been Heroes gets priority over games like Axiom Verge.
@RyanSilberman while I agree the score is low, this game can't work offline so I think that's why he says it's not that portable.
But honestly, if that's why, then I really hope this isn't the norm for Switch reviews, just because the Switch can be a handheld doesn't mean points should be docked if games aren't great outside the dock.
I've been making Jackbox portable for years simply by logging in as me on my mates PS4 when I go round and we play it. With the Switch though, unless you're trying to play it in a park... Yeah, I just don't get it
£75 from Amazon.com with all duty covered, people say it's expensive for what it is but as someone who's had many pewter sets of chess, metal pieces just bend easy and look tacky.
Vinyl works for what they've went for, Triforce gold vs black.
If you want a real quality chess set, you buy wood, not metal. And you can't get gold wood and doing gold metal would ya know, add a couple grand to the price, so vinyl makes sense.
I just wish Twinrova was Twinrova, it's Kotake and Koume on the piece, 2 people as one piece only makes sense if they were actually in the Twinrova form.
@Eric258 While I of course never wanted Iwata to die, I'll be honest, and say I wanted him to leave as President because he started this toxic era of Nintendo we're in.
Look at the timeline, he took over just after the Gamecube launch so it was already too late for him to make a severely underpowered system and alienate 3rd parties.
As a testament to that Capcom made RE4 and it was a timed exclusive, it was an amazing 3rd party title that drove sales, the Gamecube was a great system to own for both 1st and 3rd party games and it's power wasn't an issue so it got big multi platform support. Tony Hawks and sports games (which are a big deal, ask the Dreamcast about what happens to consoles without EA sports titles) in general, Lord Of The Rings etc... Big names from big companies were all to be found on Gamecube.
Then came Iwata's first console, the Wii. It sold a ton but with odd controls and less power than a microwave, 3rd party support went from amazing original titles (RE4 was a full fledged reboot and exclusive remember) to watered down ports years later that sucked much like Capcom's only big name on the system, Dead Rising. Or RE4 that was redone with pointer controls and it didn't really look that much different.
Then the WiiU continued down this road and now the Switch has too. Everyone flipped out over Skyrim coming to Switch, but now we're not even sure if it's a port of the much upgraded rerelease or the 6 year old version that had horrific issues on consoles like the PS3 and it was the powerhouse of its gen.
So while I miss him as a person (afterall his presence on Directs was unique and special) I don't miss him as the driving force behind Nintendo.
@gaga64 yup that screenshot is from the American eShop, go to Europe's eShop, Alpha Mission II is up as well as SSIV, I don't actually know why NL put these articles up when checking the store is as easy
But I suppose for some its helpful, it's why I came to read the comments to see if anyone was actually surprised by this, lol
@Goob yeah I put the flattest thing I could on it and you're right, almost invisible to the naked eye unless you're really looking for it but it has a tiny curve now.
Nothing like the pic above though. And as mentioned above I think I'm in the category of extreme use, so for it to bend as vastly for him, he has to have done something extra to it.
I'm kind of an invalid, can't work due to health so games are all I have to do. I put around 250 hours into Zelda in a 3 week span (all I have left are the seeds so taking a break). And In the first week it was rarely off, like 10-12 hour sessions in the first few days, some days even more if I was having a particularly bad headache day (permanent migraines, fun).
On top of those 10-12 hour sessions at least 1 day was a 16 hour session. And I also have double sided tape all over my dock to provide cushioning to avoid scratches and that does increase the temperature of the system I've noticed as it's insulation.
So averaging 10 hours a day in a single sitting running extra hot, I then also often took it out to play on handheld mode to let it cool off and to put stuff on Netflix in the background and my system, is as straight as it was at launch.
So something else has to be causing this, like how much force are you applying to it playing it in handheld mode while it's warm to get it to bend like this?

Re: You Can Use Bluetooth Headphones On Your Switch, But There's A Catch
Bluetooth has been a mainstay for generations of devices, except on Nintendo. Still irks me.

Re: EA Is Considering Bringing More Games to Nintendo Switch
Been after a portable NHL game for years, so bring on NHL 18.
Re: Talking Point: The Nintendo Switch Has a Chance for Significant Success, Especially as a Portable
@BezBot I didn't spend a grand, I bought mine, they bought there's.
I have however bought 5 3DS systems, got an Ambassador New 3DS plus the 4 Zelda ones, lol.
I'm a sucker for Zelda merch.
Re: Talking Point: The Nintendo Switch Has a Chance for Significant Success, Especially as a Portable

Re: Review: The Jackbox Party Pack 3 (Switch eShop)
I own all these on PS4, easily the best party games you can get today, 1-2 Switch and JD2017 Switch are also great fun.

Re: Round Up: Yooka-Laylee's Scores Are In, And Critics Appear Divided
So as it runs badly on anything but a super powered P.C according to gamexplain, I buy in sale when it gets a PSPro patch or not at all.
Not as if I don't have a ton to play on my Switch already

@SCAssassin can you link to this?
Just because I would like to know if brand new switches have this 1.5mm curve that it seems most now have upon checking
