1. Final Fantasy (NES) 2. Crystalis (NES) 3. Double Dragon 2 (NES) 4. Any of the N64 Mario Party Games 5. Contra (NES) 6. Fire Emblem (NES) 7. EarthBound (SNES) 8. Chrono Trigger (SNES) 9. UN Squadron (SNES) 10. CastleVania 3 (NES)
I know that several of the games on my list are unlikely to be released at all, so please, dont bug me about it.
Just get an SD card. All this "not enough memory" crap is making my head spin. I have an SD card for my digital camera that gives my wii an extra 2700 blocks. They're not even that expensive.
The controls aren't frustrating at all. I played this first when i was only 12 years old and i picked up the gameplay in a matter of minutes. This game's actually pretty fun with 2 players, but there are much better NES titles out there and the remake of Clu Clu Land on NES which was Japanese-only was much nicer.
3 stars? are you Joking, Damien? This game has really good music for the time, and you didn't even mention that you can customize your ship! This game is worth at least a 4.
Wow! i didn't expect to get some feedback from fellow gamers! Thanks for telling me. I might get it if i can manage to find a Wii Points card. The darn things sell like crazy. Too bad i dont have a credit card...
I hafta agree with you there. There are a lot of classics on the Virtual Console (it has it's fair share of useless crap as well), but Super Mario 3 is still the game that i end up playing most. It's commonly referred to as the best NES title of all time for a good reason.
My completely opinionated, super-ultra-biased view on SMRPG:
As far as most other RPG's of the time were, SMRPG is pretty easy and short, but it's battle system was great. The minigames were awesome too. It just has a charm that i haven't seen in any other games. Despite it's flaws, i think i'll get it when it comes out.
I see your point, but i've played plenty of great RPGs before; FF6, Secret of Mana, and Chrono Trigger to name a few, and i'm wondering if SMRPG can satisfy the way that those games did.
Wow. I used to love SMRPG...but now i see all of these people with negative comments about it...It makes me wonder if i should even bother with downloading it. i mean, i believe that the game had it's share of flaws, but what game doesn't?
This game kicks butt. The music in the first level sounds awesome, and the idea of building cities and killing monsters is a perfect mix. For 800 Wii points this is a must. Even if you aren't into the whole Sim's thing, the Platform levels are great!
Yeah, its a bummer that there is no save feature, but there is a hidden Level Select Option so you can play any of the levels whenever you want. I don't remember what it is, but you can Google it or something.
You're right, the game IS a bit weird, but thats one of its many charms. SMRPG is a lot shorter than the paper mario games, but it's funny and there's a lot of cool characters and bosses.Theres also a lot more replay value to keep you playing even after you have beaten it.
SMRPG is far from flawless, but it's a fun game with lots of replay value. I'm definately getting this. And whats all this talk of Banjo Kazooie, DK64, and Majora's Mask? Lets stay on topic here, people!
Haha! Good to see that somebody agrees with me! I agree with your comment about the battle system; it was revolutionary. SMRPG wasn't as long a game as i would have hoped for, but it has plenty of replay value and the gamepley really shines.
Square has always been ahead of Nintendo in terms of graphics, and this is no exception. I might get yelled at for this, but i like this game much more than Earthbound.
Wow, I LOVE this game! It's incredibly hard at the beginning, which made many would-be fans of the game turn away from it, but it gets easier and more fun as the game progresses.
Plus, who doesn't love the fact that they put Pit in Brawl? Freakin' awesome.
What did we ever do to you, Nintendo? Only spend hundreds of bucks on your games. Now, I'm not European or anything, but that comment was just plain rude and ill-spoken. I hope that Nintendo of America doesn't think like that.

Re: Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse
IMHO, i think this game is much harder than the original. There are a lot more levels, and the bosses are a lot harder as well.

Secret of Mana is the definite winner here

Re: Ys Book I & II
You just bump into enemies to kill them? Sounds like it'd get repetitive.... i'm not sure about this one.

Re: Super Mario RPG Released in Japan Today
Aww man, I can't wait for SMRPG! It's not as great as most of the other RPGs of the time were, but it's still awesome!
Re: Castlevania
Dracula, the Final Boss, wasn't a huge problem for me. The boss I had the worst time with was easily Death. Jeez, i can't stand him!
Re: Dig Dug
Well, Dig Dug is fun, but 600 Wii points? Import or not, i think i'll give this one a miss.

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog 2
My favorite of the Sonic Trilogy. I played this a lot at my cousins house as a kid, because i didn't own a Genesis. Who could forget that minigame?
Re: Sonic the Hedgehog 3
This one is probably the weakest of the original trilogy, but not by much. I prefer Sonic 2 the most.
Re: Mario Bros.
Pffft.
Why get this when you can get SM3 (which has this as a minigame) for the same price?

Woohoo!

Re: Dig Dug
Meh...this game was...Okay, but for 500 wii points? No. I played this game on an emulator and it held my attention for about 5 minutes.
