Don't get me wrong, I think this is really cool, (especially how he uses NFC on the carts to access and boot games directly) I've just got a problem with the authors headline for the article, especially when the creator himself admits to being usurped by Nintendo.
"Puts Nintendo's Effort to Shame"? This isn't even a product. Put a price tag on it and let me buy it and then we'll see if it puts it to shame. While you're at it, give me a legal means to play games on the system. I've got no problem with emulating games, but stealing games and then saying it puts nintendo to shame is a bit much...
I would appreciate it if you would start your statements with "I think" or "In my opinion", such as: I think "A game's looks do not consist solely of some art style you happen to think is a nice choice;"
If you don't start with "I think" or "In my opinion", then how do you expect all of our tiny incomprehensive brains to understand that what YOU are writing is what you think. We might get confused and think that what you are saying is indisputable objective fact otherwise.
@Kirk I bet you are one of those people that were pissed about Wind Waker when it came out too, weren't you? Go back and look at all of the games on that gen of consoles and tell me which ones are the best. I expect a very good list, seeing as you are the indisputable judge of a game's visual appeal to everyone.
Wind Waker is easily one of the best looking games of that gen still today, because of the art style they chose. 10 years from now, people won't be talking about how beautiful a game Skyrim is, that's obvious. They were going for a realistic looking game with the tech in a 5 year old system that was several years behind the best pcs when it came out. 10 years from now it will look like morrowind compared to current generation games now. 10 years from now this Zelda game will still be beautiful.
@Kirk can you please just admit that you glossed over the "one of" part of his article in "This is not only likely the best looking Wii U title, but one of the best looking games of this generation, period." and move on please. This has been a largely positive comments section about a game that most of us seem to be looking forward to for many reasons, including the beautiful visuals, and unfortunately you are kind of bringing me down.
@Baker1000 There is no way we see the PS5 or next XBOX in 2 years. They've only been on the market for 2 years and are currently selling like crazy. The PS console life have been increasing since PS1; PS1 = 5 years, PS2 = 6 years, PS3 = 7 years. The original xbox was only out for 4 years before 360, but the 360 was out for 8 years before the XBONE came out. It stands to reason that we've got a minimum of 4 years left with the current XB & PS consoles, maybe 5 or 6.
But other than that I generally think you are right as was the analyst in his last point. They can't simply make a system like the PS4 or XBONE. People already have those systems. We don't need another one to do the same thing. Nintendo had to find another way to attract consumers; something that the other systems don't already have.
I'm sure I'll be getting it no matter what, but I just hope that Nintendo can release something that brings them strong commercial success and recognition, instead of ridicule from the masses.
@BCB12 All you have to do is go to the PEGI website and it is obvious that the dates are not listed that way. Examples:
Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water - PEGI 2015-10-30. Actual date released October 30, 2015.
Guitar Hero Live - PEGI 2015-10-23. Actual Date released October 23, 2015.
I really didn't have to go any farther than the first game or anything beyond the PEGI date as the last time I checked, there weren't 30 months in the year. This can clearly only be October 30, 2015. Maybe people here in the US are rerouted to an American version of the site that lists the dates differently?
Obviously the date in this case was either wrong or got delayed and the people at PEGI weren't notified.
I love how "everyone" was bashing GAME and it turns out they were the good guys here; they were just trying to let their customers know as soon as possible. I don't understand why "everyone" always has to spew so much hate. I say just be glad that you are getting it this year. The US won't get it till January...
@Tsurii I've got it on PC, Xbone, and iOS. I'll be getting it here too. $10 more for the game really isn't that much more. I think it has been generallyunderpriced anyway so it's fine. I don't mind paying a little extra to support Nintendo and Mojang/4J & Microsoft??
@greenwoods11 I don't think so. I just looked up the other versions at the PEGI website and it seems that they are anything but consistent. XBONE and PSVita versions are listed as puzzle, but other versions are listed as anything from, Strategy, Adventure, Action, or Other...

@abbyhitter I'm pretty damn excited about it actually!!

Also noticed while checking the PEGI website that it does not have the little logo to indicate that the game can be played online...
