Re: Best Of 2022: "NCL Has Been Waiting For This Day Since 2014" - Former NOA Employee Talks Nintendo eShop Closures

@BloodNinja "Even still, you can run Steam in offline mode forever without worrying about it"
Completely wrong. Steam doesnt allow to run on offline mode indefinitely or it would be easy to share the same account to multiple devices and make them stay offline, basically pirating games. Steam does require at least a weekly login to allow access to the games you purchased.

Re: Just Dance 2017 Demo Set for the eShop With Bieber's "Sorry" Track

I like DDR, but I have mixed feelings about having a comeback to consoles. DDR was very good, but as the time passed, they were very awful in every installment. They tried to compete with Dance Central and Just Dance putting many known american songs and it pissed off many long time fans, the songs on new installments were very awful to dance on because of the low BPM or simply are not suited well to dancing, like Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars, One Step At A Time by Jordin Sparks....

Re: Darksiders is Coming to Wii U

@Trinexx Mine is physical too, even with some DLC that some people were complaining of glitching the game (again, with all versions, not only Wii U). I know ACIII is very glitchy regardless of the platform, but nowhere near as Unity.

@RoomB31 That concerns me a little. I already played Darksiders on PS3 and it was a screen tearing fest, but perform good on most part (the final one, that you have to revisit come locations is very glitchy). Wii U games have forced v-sync that I like (on PS3, almost any game has screen tearing and this is very annoying), but on the other hand, the game can run worse because of the forced v-sync. On PC games, it is well known of deactivating v-sync for better performance.

Re: Darksiders is Coming to Wii U

@Trinexx I didnt had any problems with ACIII on Wii U... offline. This game on every platform are experiencing issues when successfully connecting to uPlay server, especially Wii U and PC versions. The difference is that the PC client has a offline mode that the console versions don't have. They averted this on Black Flag, that has a offline mode.

One thing that I hate in Ubisoft is that ALWAYS they manage to fix some problem of the game on their sequel, instead of fixing right away. Many games have complaints on the uPlay forums, but they do nothing.

Re: Third Party Developers Share Their Hopes For Nintendo NX

TheCodemastr

A easy platform to develop is good to reduce production time, but it actually dont matter because it is the higher-ups that choose the platform to developers to program for, not the other way around.

Dreamcast was GREAT to develop and even today it receives indie games. PS2 was horrible to program for. Indie devs had way more reasons to develop for such huge platform like PS2, but when these consoles were "current gen", it was the other way around.

Yes, HDTV lag is.concerning and every TV works differently on this regard, but almost every TV apply less post processing on native resolutions compares to smaller ones. Thats why it's recommended to turn on Game Mode on TV and apply the native resolution of the TV on the video confira of the console

One good solution for adjusting lag I found on Rockband. The guitar has a mic and to adjust lag, you start the config and you put the guitar near the speaker of the TV. The game will make some noises and will automatically adjust the correct "input window". The GamePad already has a mic, it is very easy to do this, but I dont think Nintendo will care to do this.

One good

Re: Digital Foundry Breaks Down the Resolution and Framerate in Pokkén Tournament

TheCodemastr

Smash Bros isnt a good comparison point. It has very low poly characters and the 2D nature helps even more, you dont need to fully render in a 3D environment even if it is a game with a 3D graphic engine.

I think the best reasons for this poor performance are two:rushed release and straight port from the arcade, instead of developing a port with the Wii U capabilities in mind from the start. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 runs smooth and it is way more detailed.

Re: Talking Point: Considering amiibo Features and the Reality of 'Physical DLC'

TheCodemastr

For me, the worst problem of transforming amiibo in physical DLC is the distribution model. I don't know where you guys live in and I think it's more easier to find amiibo, but on so many countries not officially supported by Nintendo, these "physical DLCs" create a enormous problem of making the content very hard and even more expensive (with importing) than just buying a downloadable content via eShop. I think that providing a option to buy the content without having a amiibo is cool for people with this problem like me or people who don't have any interest for that amiibo in particular.
