@MiNiStRy <---- What he said. I hope to see them eat crow on the U platform a year from now. Although I never play EA games anyways so I just don't care.
@AJTsuki Any exposure of Nintendo products is promotion. A potential customer searches YouTube to watch the gameplay, if the video looks fun he might buy it. Promo.
Nintendo doesn't lose gaming or console revenue because of the existence of a video of a guy playing their game. And the guy making the video doesn't make revenue unless he gets a boat load of hits, which is his incentive to make many videos with quality commentary, so as to attract viewers, which is only more promo for Nintendo. This is elementary economics.
As I said above, Nintendo has the right to do as they are, I just think they are wrong-headed because by "taxing" the content-creator they will get less of it, which is less promo, and can only hurt Nintendo.
I don't understand why they don't show Duck Tales (or any of the cool shows from the 80s) on TV or even Netflix? It doesn't cost the studios anything to play old shows, which would seem "new" to a kid. If Duck Tales (show) was a mega hit in the 80s, why wouldn't kids today love it just as much?
Its Nintendo's right to do this, however I do think its wrong-headed... they ought not penalize gamers who promote their products. More user content of this sort only helps Nintendo. If Nintendo wants to participate in revenue of this sort, then make your own channel and compete with the user content.
@FiveDigitLP My point is that Nintendo is selling a system that they clearly haven't finished developing. Wasn't the U billed as not just a game console but as the new hub of your livingroom entertainment system, to integrate all media with control from the gamepad? Well, a second pad could be useful, His and Hers. Not to mention that the U doesn't even fuction properly as the media hub that they claimed. Look, I'm not a Nintendo hater, but it looks like they rushed the U to market when it wasn't finished and now its suffering. If I'm wrong, then fine.
@Zyph by "support" I mean more than just a theoretical vision of some future ability that a hacker had to make known to us. Does Nintendo sell a second controller individually? How do I go about attaching it to the system? Can the OS currently function with two at the same time? I'm suggesting that Nintendo ought to support and push this as an option now. Its one of the most common critiques of the WiiU that only one person gets to have the cool controller. If this system was built to have two, then make it so.
Look, when Nintendo releases some titles that people care about, and when they finish developing the platform to function with dual controllers and make the TV integration work properly (as they should have before releasing)... THEN the Wii U will start selling well and EA will change their mind about this. Nintendo just needs to sell product ASAP.
... then why NOT have support for dual controllers now? Its more evidence 9in my eyes) that the Wii U wasn't ready for release last year. Nintendo is usally so good about getting the product right the first time, but in Wii U's case it sure appears that they dropped the ball by releasing an unfinished product.
@thalonelygirl X2. It was a cute game, but nothing amazing. Not even in my top 5 Zelda games list. Nintendo also took WAY too long bringing it out. There should be a team of Zelda developers FULL TIME banging out awesome titles every 2 years... if they hit some and miss some, no biggie, but waiting 8 years between titles only to be given this infantile adventure is upsetting to fans.
Smells fishy. How about an update that boosts the number of developers who want to make games for it? How about rebranding (renaming) so that its not the same name as the last gen console from 8 years ago? A child can see that the public identifies it as merely a Wii upgrade. How about supporting more than one gamepad?

Re: Video: See How Mugen's "20 Hour" 3DS XL Battery Fares Against Other Nintendo Handhelds
Simply no excuse for charging $100 for a battery. $30 or less is reasonable.

CNN is not a credible news source, and this is just an opinion piece, which makes it even less credible or interesting.
