I really hope Nintendo is using the extra time not just to polish this game for the US market, but also to add gyro controls (and maybe wiimote controls for those who like that). Personally, I can't imagine playing without gyro controls anymore. Splatoon has spoiled me.
@shigulicious Sorry to hear you don't enjoy the stage, but I have to disagree. Moray Towers isn't bad. You just have to learn its tricks. For one, you don't have to limit yourself to jumping down at the ends of the rows. As long as your ink is already down, you can jump in squid form from the center of a row to a lower row. And there are at least 3 alternate ways to infiltrate the enemy lanes.
I've been having more & more fun on that stage. I remember a really good game where I had run into an ememy squid & we were at a stalemate. So I layed a mine in the corner, swam back up the ramp, jumped from the higher lane to the lower one, shooting at the ground as I fell. The other squid panicked & ran right in to my mine! :~)
P.S. I tend to go with speed perks for running & swimming.
I'd like an HD upgrade of the 3ds game. Twin sticks & gyro controls like Splatoon seems like it'd be fun. But I didn't play the 3ds version so I don't know for sure.
I had a great time. I think my team won about 75-80% of the time. I used the roller the whole time. It was my secondary objective, but I got a good amount of kills with the roller. Just have to remember not to make a frontal assault. I'm loving the stealth aspects of the game. :~)
This is my first post! I've been lurking for a while though.
I really hope this isn't the last set of DLC. I'd gladly pay another $12 for 2 more DLC packs. :~) I'm not sure about the pricing on DLC for Smash yet... I wish they'd include a stage with each new character too. And Nintendo better not think we've forgotten wanting a REAL battle mode for MK8. They really need to make some proper arena's.
So honestly I'd pick all of the above in the survey if I could. 'Proper' battle mode/stages are the most glaring omission. This should be a free update for the base 'proper' battle mode , maybe later add MORE stages as DLC packs.
Extra race tracks & more characters is a no brainer for me. Please use the DLC to turn this into Smash Kart! At least a little bit please.
The free updates like 200cc & amiibo costumes are cool too. Keep the game interesting. I like seeing new & different racers when I'm online. I really hope they expand the costumes & don't stop here though. Where's my Pit costume!?
And while I've never played a MK with missions, I'd really liked the extra content. It made the single player a lot of fun in Sonic All Star Racing Transformed.
I know my expectations aren't realistic. But I see games like MK8 as being great platforms for expansion. It reminds me of how PC games used to have expansion packs. I'd personally keep buying quality DLC like this assuming the price is right.
P.S. I don't know anyone irl that owns a Wii U. So I'd love to get some nintendolife friends.
My NNID is Sir-Taun, anyone feeling friendly? Aside from Mario Kart 8, I play SSB4, & Bayonetta 2 online. And I'm super psyched for Splatoon. I'm even curious about Xenoblade Chronicles X's online play.
