@BoilerBroJoe @Andyjm If I have to guess when it comes to the screenshots, you use a cursor for the touchscreen controls. They might've also modified some of the puzzles to make it suitable for the console.
In the future, I hope the whole Professor Layton series gets ported over to the Switch.
I haven't played this myself, and I'm not exactly interested to begin with, but all I hear that it's the worst game in the series and was just very dull in both plot and characters.
@Broosh Ah yes, the good ol' "It's a kids game" defense.
Listen, if you're excited for this game, good for you. Many are excited for this game as well, and there's nothing wrong with that. But that doesn't make the game free from criticism.
Pokemon is one of the biggest franchises of all time, with many fans who have played many many games both young and old. Changes that change content (like removing Pokemon) is going to tick off people and effect their experience. Don't do this "but it's a kids game" bull, it's a pathetic defense. Just because it's a kids game (which to be honest, it's not just a kids game), that doesn't mean it can't be criticised.
So, it would be really cool if they can pull the game off on the Switch. But the biggest concern is how they're going to pull it off with both joycons, that the game will recognize your positions of them.
It would be a technical achievement for the system if they do get it working, but it might take a lot of work. Let's see how they pull it off.
@DayOfLavos Superbeat Xonic is definitely a great game. The left joycon layout kinda made me want to stop playing it, but I'm use to it now and really enjoy it. More than the VITA version due to the much faster load times and extra content and such.
To be honest, this feels way too late. It's cool that they're trying to fix the game, but it shouldn't have been released in the state it was originally. The damage is done.
Well, this is something to look forward to! I love Toby Fox's music, even in crap games like YIIK (Into The Mind isn't his best piece, but was still enjoyable).
Jesus Christ, are those screenshots blurry. That's a shame, because this did look promising. It also gave me Bioshock feels when I heard and saw screenshots of it on the E-Shop.
But honestly, the screenshots on the E-Shop don't look like what screenshots you're showing now. Kinda reminds me of Mutant Year Zero on Switch, where the screenshots are clear while the actual game is blurry as heck.
What I don't get is how the Switch version apparently runs worse than the last gen versions, while having lower textures.
I don't play the Switch for graphics or framerates (but if it goes under 20FPS or is just flat out inconsistent, then I start to have a problem), but it's just jarring, you know? They could've done a better job here.
Personally, I don't exactly see what's wrong with this game. Sure, it's pretty much Cuphead, but with a different look and what they're doing looks interesting.
There has been a lot of work put into this game and it really does show, but I do have an issue with the gameplay, that it's just way to much like Cuphead. They need to do more with it to make it stand out other than just a different artstyle, different bosses, and different setting.
To many people, more Cuphead isn't a bad thing, but to others, it's not exactly a good thing either. Me? I think they could've done more with it, gameplay wise. There's potential here.
I haven't played that many Resident Evil games. But I have finished Revelations 2 on the VITA and almost beaten Revelations 1 on the 3DS (that damn final boss was really hard). I really like Revelations 1, but I love Revelations 2 (yes, even on VITA, a port that's so half-assed).
Played Resident Evil 2 (original) and Resident Evil 4 a bit, and I liked them fine enough. They're not really my cup of tea.
@Agramonte Question: how well do these games run on the VITA? Not that you need silky smooth 30/60FPS at all times for a turn-based RPG, but I'm curious.
This code-in-the-case bullcrap needs to stop. We buy physical games to have them physically, not to just have a case and have a code for a game even though we can already download the game at home through the E-Shop.
I get it, cartridges are expensive. But how about wait a few months while the digital version sells, and do physical copies then once they get the money? But hey, I might be missing something.
The only game I'm looking forward to that's "Stadia Exclusive" is GYLT (but I've read that it might not be an exclusive at all, which is why I'm looking forward to it). But other than that, I really really don't like the idea of Stadia and what Google has been doing every time a new thing has been revealed, like having to buy the games full priced, just makes me feel like it will just be dead on arrival.
@tourjeff As somebody who Platinumed the first game on PS4, and have beaten 2 and Infinite, I would love to have the games on the go.
If they do port the games onto the Switch, I wonder how it would run. The games did have noticeable framerate drops when combat happened and a bunch of effects occurred on screen, but it was far from unplayable.
I wasn't expecting this game to get God Tier scores like 8s and 9s everywhere, but I wasn't expecting the game to be this poor to be honest.
The game does look like love was put into it, but it also looks very low budget by what I've seen. Lack of polish and boring combat, along with that price tag of 40 dollars, a 4 is an appropriate score.
Best to play the older Ice Age games to get a better experience.
@SmileMan64 Yeah, that's usually why I play video games a lot. To relax and get some satisfaction and fun. Also to take a break from school and to be by myself for a while to release some stress.
Ice Age: Solid
Ice Age - The Meltdown: Also solid
Ice Age - Dawn of the Dinosaurs: It was alright
Ice Age - Continental Drift: Very mediocre, but I've seen worse
Ice Age - Collision Course: I freaking hated
In the past, I did try the video game of Ice Age - The Meltdown. I remember liking it, and the game also has solid scores. Nothing groundbreaking, but still solid.
The video game of Ice Age - Dawn of the Dinosaurs also has solid scores on Metacritic.
I'm not all that interested in this due to the price, but for the most part, it does looks solid and I'm curious on what ratings/scores it will get. Does show that a lot of care was put into it, not a lazy project job just to get some cash.
The artstyle of this gives me strong Hotline Miami vibes. It doesn't look as polished as HM, but still looks very interesting.
I'll wait for some reviews and look up gameplay to see if it's worth the 10 dollars it's asking for. I really really enjoy story driven games, so I hope this does deliver on what's said.
@colmtheperson I mean, this port has just been released, and contains all the content (Full game + DLC). The game is also in a 32GB Card, which really isn't cheap at all.
I can understand if people find the game a bit too pricey, but it must've taken a crap ton of work to get the game onto the Switch, so I don't think pricing it at 60 dollars is unreasonable either. The PS4, XBONE, and PC version were released four years ago, while this new port is now.
@MidnightLaces The ESRB is there for a reason, you know.
Plus, just because games are on the Switch, that doesn't mean they need to be family friendly. Set the parental controls to where all you see is Family Friendly stuff (Rated E and E10+), and move on with your day. Not everything needs to be Family Friendly on the Switch. It's not just a system for kids. :/
For this game to come out on Switch on Holloween, that actually makes sense since this is a horror game, even though it is dumb to release the game the same day as Luigi's Mansion 3 in my opinion.
Although, I have to ask: who asked for this, really? The game is known to be one of the worst games from last year due to horrible stealth mechanics and lack of polish, especially on consoles (but it has been patched, so I'm not sure how the state of the game is now). I hope this Switch port fixes most of the issues and doesn't launch in a horrendous state. Because otherwise, why bother?
That's how I feel about this, anyway. Luigi's Mansion 3 will overshadow this game if the port does turn out to be garbage.

Whoever hasn't played this game yet and love horror: check it out. It's a fantastic horror game, even if you never seen the movies like me.
What I do wonder is how it will run on Switch. So far, it's very promising, and I hope it runs much better than the last gen versions.
