Re: Sony Job Listing Suggests More PS5 Games Could Get A Nintendo Release

@Chlocean yeah that's a good observation. I got PS5 and psvr2 on release and it's true when it comes to this gen the exclusives have been very poor (or at least very slow to show). I blame this mainly on how successful the last gen was though. I mean PS4 sold so well that it would have been stupid for developers to ignore that market for the smaller PS5 audience and I think even Sony Devs were trapped because of it.

has to be because of the amount of switch 2's in the wild, as for the game itself, i was hesitant myself as I've never really been a massive fan of DK but I'm really glad I did in the end as its one of the most pleasant and fun games I've played in a long time, my kids love it and its easy enough to 100% the game with its location detection, after playing this I'm now going to go and buy DK's previous installments so well done Nintendo you've turned another me into a fan of another franchise

Re: Digital Foundry Dives Into Cyberpunk 2077 On Switch 2

@PushMyGran86 this is exactly it, the raw power of the PS5 cannot be denied but because of its tech its got to compromise on things.

While both consoles support ray tracing, their approaches differ:

Switch 2: By leveraging DLSS, the Switch 2 can potentially deliver ray-traced visuals at higher perceived resolutions without taxing the hardware excessively. This is particularly advantageous given the console's portable nature and power constraints.

PS5: Offers more raw power and can handle ray tracing natively at higher resolutions, but without an equivalent to DLSS, it may face challenges in maintaining high frame rates with intensive ray-traced effects.

@carlos82 the difference between ns2 and PS5 will be interesting as whilst the switch will be limited by its form factor and power so I dont expect it to look nearly as clean as PS5 is could actually be superior to PS5 when it comes to raytracing as PS5 uses AMD which is behind the curve on this tech. (they have done wonders catching up but still a step behind for now).

the big question is how will developers work with the switch hardware as they could make some really really good looking games which match ps5 in terms of how the average player sees them if they omtimize their games in the right way.

(as a note im not saying the switch 2 has more power just that it has the potential to match if developers make wise decisions)

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo Needs More Characters Like Paper Mario's Vivian

@Uncle_Franklin point taken. but my point still remains true, the last 20 years have really seen a big change in society which has left alot of people (rightly or wrongly) feeling insecure about their own views being targeted and the last thing a business should do is join in as it could lose them money. either way one line in a game and everyone loses their mind..... be kind to each other and this whole argument goes away

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo Needs More Characters Like Paper Mario's Vivian

@Uncle_Franklin thats true but that wasnt made socially acceptable because business's promoted it. its because as a society we all agreed that its not that big of a deal. certain demographics are going to be strongly against the whole LGBT+ thing and its moved so fast that I think as a society we havent got to the point where its yet accepted fully. (older generations for instance the term you cant teach an old dog new tricks comes to mind). as a business it can be a very risky move to promote something thats not accepted by everyone as you can turn some customers against you as a brand doing so.

either or.... its still a great game and im happy people are able to relate to characters

Re: Poll: What Features Would You Want In A Switch 'Pro'?

Slowie

More Ram maybe 8 instead of 4 and at a faster frequency. theres no point in having a beefier CPU/GPU and not have fast enough ram to pass the data back and forth. I think if that was upgraded and the newer processor used in the revised switch was clocked to original specs then we would see a massive improvement straight away. not sure what the temps would be on that though.
would be nice to see someone overclock the revised switch so see how much power could be added untill the temps match the old model.
