The difference between this and digital, of course, being that one is nature taking it's course which you can simply take care of in most cases so it lasts longer than you're alive, and the other is at the whim of some garbage company who can decide at any time that they aren't making enough money off of it anymore so you're not allowed to have it despite having paid for it.
@Scollurio and anyone else talking about multiple logins even after changing, are you making sure to click to log out all other devices in your settings?
If someone is logged in already changing your password and activating 2FA won't do a thing alone. They're already logged in so it won't ask them for the new password or 2FA. You have to forcibly log them out.
Still asinine you can't move saves though. Especially considering there are games like the YGO one which can't even do a direct save transfer because Konami is garbage.
@Braok Whatever is happening appears to be related to going online so unless you're an idiot pirating this specific game and going online (which I doubt) you wouldn't likely see an issue.
Especially if you properly followed the steps and formatted your SD card to fat32 before using emunand when one of the problems is definitely for using a card with exFAT.
Pirates are safer than legit players in this instance by default.
The one who came up with the image said this was a hypothetical, and a couple morons ran with it as gospel (probably a falseflagger trying to defend Game Freak since you people seem to not understand everyone isn't one person). We don't actually know what is wrong but there IS definitely something wrong and only the west is defending it.
@Mountain_Man Right now it's actually possible to use DLC system wide. That would presumably prevent that so I don't really see how you consider that good.
Tracking purchases has been done for years now, it doesn't need this for that.
This is one of the things that needs fixing about online - we should be able to just transfer our VC titles from 3DS and Wii U, rather than having to deal with trashy online versions of games we wouldn't have bought in the first place if online mattered.
No one in their right mind wants to rent pointless versions of games they don't want rather than be treated as if they own things they've already purchased and obviously do want.
And yes, the Nintendo account knows what was purchased on the NNID, assuming you've got them linked. Early on you could actually see all of the purchases made on the 3DS and Wii U via the Nintendo account if you had your NNID linked, they just hid it from us shortly before the launch of the Switch.
It doesn't even make sense to not have this be a thing on their end. Why would they waste time and thus money programming it to know what you did with the NNID unless they were going to make use of it?
They didn't even do other reasonable things like offer discounts of the ports to people who already owned them on Wii U.
Both of these things would obviously have seen people wanting to jump aboard the Switch train, (even if the VC title transfer was just part of the online) but nope.
@NEStalgia Again, purchases on the 3DS, Wii U, and Switch are all already tied to your account. System hopping is not happening because they don't want it to, not because it can't be done. They do not have to include the system in there but do it anyway. This will change nothing about that. System transfer has existed on the Switch for nearly a year for a reason - they simply have no intention of allowing you to download a game on multiple systems without paying a second or more time for it.
It's about making you pay again and again and again. As shown by what I've mentioned previously - even though they could just give us our VC stuff this time because there is no other excuse not to do it, they aren't because they'd prefer to have you rent what they decide you can rent rather than treat the consumer as if they own stuff they've bought.
This is also part of the reason physical is superior, no matter the platform.
@Dezzy That's basically SE in a nutshell. They even ported the mobile tripe of the originals to PC.
It's not even like it was a good version. Best one of all the remakes was the GBA/DS versions in terms of relative difficulty (each successive re-release has gotten easier and easier) and style.

Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 13.1.0 Is Now Live - Adds The Switch Online Expansion Pack
@NinChocolate Sure, once it was 10 dollars.
Stores near me sold basically everything they had at a huge loss just to stop using shelf space on it.

Best update for the button remapping alone.

Re: Uh-Oh, We've Got Our First Reported Case Of Drift On The Switch Lite
@countzero They had the 3DS though. no reason they couldn't have just used the pads. Would've made more sense for a handheld only model.
Re: Uh-Oh, We've Got Our First Reported Case Of Drift On The Switch Lite
@ElioTheWerewolf Both drift. Right one is generally used less, that's all.
