Re: EA Sports Games For Switch 2 "Are Being Built Specifically For The New Handheld"

Sidewinder172

Comments appear to be too pessimistic, which I understand thanks to the back to back Legacy Edition crap EA pulled with Nintendo.

But..

I genuinely believe things will be different this time around, because them properly ditching legacy with EAFC 24 and 25 was a big apology from Switch owners, paving path to a better relationship in Switch 2. I believe Switch 2 development and ambitions started way back in 2023. With PS5 Pro out and the nature of Switch (portability) it is understandable for them to develop the Switch version separately, maybe with some tiny compromises but ultimately delivering a very solid game.

So, yeah. I’ll at least wait for some reviews or even better a demo before I write their efforts off.

Re: Switch 2's Best-Selling eShop Games So Far

Very well deserved for Cyberpunk 2077. It is an awesome port and paving path for further Witcher games on the console.

Also, its game card is a true game card which actually holds the game in it (the version I own) so there are also physical sales to count in.

Wii U, 3DS store closure is a terrible move by Nintendo, period. Look how Sony still keeps PS3 store and certain geme servers alive… and that is PS3, not last but 2 generations ago. The console is almost 18 years old.

And what about their biggest financial failure, PSVita? Yep, store still up and running.

Customer loyalty and overall marketing is much different today than last decades. Its no longer only about the impact on next quarters Financial Statement.

Own PS4 version and bought on Switch as well for portability. The game looks excellent for a Switch game and no feature is missing here.

Frame rate has been solid, I’ve had 0 issues with it.

Only thing that bothers me is that it is a full priced deluxe title and you still have to pay for the dlc. They are by all means not necessary, but still disappointing.

Hands down best aviation title on the Switch.

Its a true smart port considering the hardware limitations. PS4 obviously looks and plays much, much better but the key of Switch is its portability.

30 fps was inevitable but you get used to it quite fast.

The compromises like player hairs, face details etc are smart. They have nearly zero effect on the gameplay, I don’t even remember paying slightest of attention on how player faces look.

All modes, including Manager are 100% there. Gameplay is fully in our hands as well. These are all that matters (not to mention, it looks good too)

Just like Doom and Witcher Its a good port. I consider this a solid apology from EA.

Doom Ethernal and Witcher were both near impossible ports but turned out to be some of the best running games on Switch, with serious graphical compromises of course.

With right talent this may be a very solid port on Switch. I finished Witcher on ps4 and ended up buying it discounted on Switch for portability and expansions, wouldn’t mind doing the same for this one as well.

Re: Review: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition - An Incredible Action-RPG Stands Strong On Switch

Played and finished the main story on ps4 pro but saved the expansion for Switch. A handheld world of Witcher was just too good to turn down.

The game looks muddy when docked but I found visuals very satisfying on handheld. Also, while the game doesn't support cloud saves w/ ps4, you can choose to directly start with the expansions. The game simply boosts your level to the minumum required of the expansions.

Very satisfied with my second Witcher 3 purchase overall. 10/10 game on Ps4, 10/10 game on Switch.

Re: Review: Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age - This Is How You Handle A Remaster

Sidewinder172

Played it back in the ps2 days and it has been one of my favorite games all time. Revisited on Switch and I am happy to see that the artistic design is as good as ever, higher-res graphics looks damn fine and with rock solid soundtrack the overall presentation is classy. Ivalice is probably the best world in FF series. So detailed, so awesome. Not to mention, Switch version is the absolute best one among all ports.

But what makes FFXII a truly unique game is its battle system. It is so well designed, so fluid that it feels more modern than 90% of the RPGs released in the most recent 5 years. You can change the name, remove the remastered tag and give it to someone who had never played it as a brand new game from 2021. Nothing feels dated except the save crystals (which are just modernized by auto-save function).

This game aged like a fine wine.

Re: Review: FIFA 21 - EA Insults Switch Owners Yet Again With This Half-Baked Effort

Sidewinder172

Waited for eshop discount and bought this for the first time on Switch and I have to admit that this is a good football game.

I understand it is annoying that Switch was left out of the updates but the career mode is still quite deep, graphics and gameplay are still good and lots of licensed teams/leagues are in it.

If there was a rating for unfairness/laziness this’d get a good 10/10 from it but overall, I don’t think this is a 2/10 game.
