Re: Best Zelda Games Of All Time

ShaneReactions

As a super old gamer, no one ever seems to mention or remember that the OG Zelda on NES was the first NES game to have a built-in save file feature. Previously, you had to write down these obnoxiously long codes to go back to your save point. And if you got one character wrong, you were screwed and had to start over again.

Re: When Does 3DS And Wii U Online Shut Down? Nintendo eShop & Online Play Closure Guide

The scalper markup on Wii U and 3DS physical games have skyrocketed after they shut the eShop down. Twilight Princess HD is going for $100-$160 for a used copy. Of course, the re-release of Wolf link didn't help the aftermarket prices.
I lost my entire video game collection in a fire and have been slowly replacing most of the things I lost. But I cannot justify spending hundreds on a used game.

Re: Talking Point: Along With Joy-Con Drift, What Does Nintendo Have To 'Fix' With 'Switch 2'?

Honestly, I would love a responsive system. One that doesn't lag when navigating built-in apps. I'm not saying it needs all the bells and whistles, but it shouldn't be frustrating just navigating a menu. This was a HUGE issue with the Wii U. The amount of time it took to load apps/games was inexcusable.
The PS5 got it right by basically eliminating load times. There has to be a middle ground somewhere....

@ItsOKToBeOK
I agree with your last paragraph. After people get killed or found out as an imp, they rage quit or close the app to go look at instagram or tiktok, etc.
The other huge annoyance (at least for me) is joining a room and instantly getting banned. Why do people make public rooms and kick everyone joining? If you just wanted your friends to play, make it private, ya know?
Personally, I say there should be a temporary timeout ban if people are perpetually kicking everyone from their room.

@XBontendo
There's a lot of 'charities' like this. Everyone knows the holiday bell ringers for The Salvation Army....but TSA does some terrible things as well, such as not offering any help if you're not christian. Or refusing to go to territories that aren't christian. So...they'll help, as long as you believe in Jesus and live in a Jesus area.
The best thing anyone can do before donating anything is to research. And since they're non-profit, they pay no taxes, just like Goodwill.
Make sure the place(s) you're donating to are actually what they claim to be. So many 'charities' are scams, corrupt and borderline racketeering.

Goodwill is NOT a good place. Their execs pull in hundreds of thousands in salary while more than 1/3 of their stores have employment loopholes to pay their staff under minimum wage.
They also get a TON of money from the government and private donors.
Goodwill sells free goods at a profit, but less than one eighth of that profit actually goes to the job-related programs they market as their primary pillar of charity work.
There are FAAAAAR better places to donate where executives pockets don't get fatter while their employees are struggling to feed themselves.

Re: A Sealed Copy Of Super Mario 64 Just Sold For A Record-Breaking $1.56 Million

@Ogbert
This is what I've been trying to figure out...why is this game worth $1.5 mil? Was it the first copy off the production line? Was it blessed by the Pope? At this price, the person bought it as an investment for resale, such as art, real estate, wine, etc. So...what makes this copy so valuable (other than being sealed and in good shape) that makes it far valuable than any other rare video game?

Re: A Sealed Copy Of Super Mario 64 Just Sold For A Record-Breaking $1.56 Million

@ARPK
But that specific card has a story, and is exceptionally rare. I just am confused on why someone paid almost twice as much as any other legitimately rare video game just because it has a high grading and nothing else behind it.
That's why I'm wondering what's up here...like, this is some type of hype to build up another copy copy of the game? Some kind of insider scam? I just don't see how someone, regardless of their income, would buy something just based on a high grade with no other marketable value behind it. There has to be enough high grade games out there that aren't $1.5 million, ya know? There's got to be more to this story...

Re: Nintendo Switch OLED Model Vs. Standard Switch / Switch Lite: Full Tech Specs Comparison

ShaneReactions

@RupeeClock The only downfall with only using an adapter is the USB LAN adapters only go to 100mbps, because the dock only uses USB 2, not 3.
I also have issues where the adapter doesn't connect after removing the switch from the dock, so it's a bit of a hassle.
My Switch from 2017 is still perfectly fine and I would love to have the built in ethernet option, but not for $350.

I have a Toad that I can't get in Shangri-Spa after you shut off the fountain in the hotel pool. Instead of talking to the Snifit and getting the folded paper airplane Toad, I walked into another room. When I came back, the Snifit was gone, and the folded Toad is still there, but I can't do anything to unfold him with the hammer. I saw a couple people post this on Nintendo's forums as well
