@nab1 The game didn't originally have the shot meter, and played better for it, for the reason you mentioned. However, people didn't understand the mechanics of the game and so that meter has done a great job of illuminating it. Now that we know, you just go into options and turn the shot meter off. No point dragging down the game over an optional feature.
@90sRetroGaming The muted colours is you, not the game. Or rather, it's the Switch settings for deep colours which you need to change from Automatic to On or something sounding like that. It's dumb that it's not on by default, I know.
This was discovered around launch when people thought Disgaea had muted colours compared to the other versions.
@Nico07 Well, that's the issue with random chance; Your hits and misses aren't "consistent" to begin with. Not now, not then.
Usually I'd chalk this down to how bad people in general are at dealing with the concept of random, and possibly that you might for instance be trying 3-pointers with characters sporting worse stats there, since the update.
But if I'm not mistaken you beat the game right?
Would you be interested in reverting the game to compare the current version (without visible bar) with the original release to see if you can properly tell a difference in shot accuracy after the fact? - For science.
@Nico07 I'm curious how it broke the game seeing as they didn't change it. It was always a stat-affected percentage chance range where you did a better roll the better you timed your release.
The only thing different now is you get visual feedback on it - which you can turn off for the old experience.

Re: Review: VVVVVV (Switch eShop)
@Hikingguy That and it's the first letters in the names of all the crew. Viridian (you), Verdigris, Vermilion, Victoria, Violet and Vitellary.
If the game's composer is to be believed, the game's title is just pronounced "V". (Vee)
