@Jumping_Dead Almost all of the characters and courses featured in the trailer are from the PS3 game Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds (Everybody's Golf: World Tour in Europe), so this is most likely an enhanced port of that game. So you're correct in saying that this game (basically a PS3 game) looks worse than the last game (a PS4 game).
I'm glad that they're keeping the series alive and giving new fans a chance to check it out, but it sucks that they're basically just recycling an older game instead of giving us something new.
He technically wasn't wrong about the TV ads. He said that he hasn't seen one, not that they weren't showing them. Nintendo just might not be targeting them towards a wide enough audience so that they air during shows he watches. I know that here in the US I mostly only see Nintendo commercials during shows targeted more towards kids, while PlayStation and Xbox commercials air during a much wider variety of programming.
I haven't even beat the first game (it really is pretty freaking hard at times), so I'll be holding off on this one for a bit. I definitely like the cheaper price point and the addition of the hint coins though.
Darn, it seems like most of the dates have already passed (including the one at the location closest to me, though it would have been a bit too far to go just to try a game). Hopefully Nintendo releases a demo on the eShop eventually, because I'm still not sold on this game (I like tennis games, but Mario Tennis on the GBA was a bit too unrealistic for my tastes).
Yeah, they would be spending even more money on the game with no guarantee that it will do any better overseas than it did in Japan (which is typically the stronger market for these games anyway).. If it was another company then they might be willing to take the gamble, but Tecmo Koei generally tends to be more cautious when it comes to these things, especially when it involves the Warriors franchise.
Damn, this was one of my most anticipated 3DS games, so I'm very disappointed to hear this. But after seeing how abysmal the game's sales were in Japan, I figured there wouldn't be much of a chance of it coming out over here.
And yeah, that sucks about the 3DS region locks, since I probably would have imported it if my 3DS had the ability to play it.
So other than 3D and the StreetPass stuff, there's not really any new content here? Because I already have the PSP version, but I haven't got around to playing it yet. So even though I play my 3DS way more than my PSP, I can't really justify double dipping if the content isn't there.
My most anticipated game is probably Revelations, followed by Dynasty Warriors VS (provided it actually gets released here). I've always been a big DW fan, so even though I enjoyed Samurai Warriors: Chronicles, I would definitely prefer to have more of that style of play within the DW universe. The Japanese version comes out in March, so hopefully a NA version will be out by the end of the year.
I really wish they had went with original tables for this game instead of porting the ones I already have from the PS3 version. I wouldn't mind a portable version of the game but I can't really justify paying more money for the same tables. I love the Zen guys, and I'll throw money at them for more original content (I've bought nearly all the tables for Zen Pinball and Marvel Pinball), but I gotta draw the line at paying for the same tables twice.
That's not a knock against this game, though. I'm sure it's just as great as all the other versions of ZP are, it's just not for me.
While all three games are somewhat different, I'd say Pyramids is more similar to Mighty Switch Force than it is to Pushmo. Like CureM said, it's about figuring out the puzzle and then exexcuting the solution perfectly, which is essentially the same thing you do in MSF to beat the par times. Pushmo is a great game and it definitely has more content than Pyramids and MSF combined, but from a pure gameplay perspective I felt it was the weakest of the three (not to say it was bad, just that it doesn't offer as much of a challenge).
@ejamer You've found more additional levels than I have. I've only found 18 of them so far, 4 exclusive to Nintendo Life and the rest on their facebook page. Did you find anymore outside of those two places?
@PinkSpider Yes, all of the extra levels are designed by the developers. It pretty much is DLC, but I imagine they had to go the QR image code route since there was no DLC system implemented on the 3DS at the time the game was released.
@Lohengriehn I asked the developers how come there wasn't more space for extra levels, and they said it was a technical issue. I don't remember the exact reasoning, but it was something like it would have made the loading times in the game much slower.
Sweet, I can combine these with the last batch of levels I didn't get to from their facebook page to have another full slate of levels to go through. I hate that I have to delete the other extra stages in order to do so, but I definitely want to play more of this excellent game.
I would definitely download a 3DSWare version of this game, but I'm kinda doubtful it would get approved. This is something I'll keep an eye on, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up for it.
I'm definitely going to pick this up. I need another game in this vein after finishing 505 Tangrams a few months back, and this definitely seems like it'll hit the spot. I was going to get the PS Minis version of this game, but right before I did this version was announced (it was perfect timing) and I held off because a game like this just seems to work better with touchscreen controls.
I think I'm most interested in the multiple solutions aspect. It adds another layer of challenge to the game and gives it a bit of replay value. It sounds like I could like this game more than 505 Tangrams. Time to download and find out!
@Chicken_Brutus Even though Namco originally developed Xevious, Nintendo is the publisher of the 3D Classics version. So as of now, all of the Club Nintendo downloads are games published by Nintendo.
I was all set to download VVVVVV, but now I'm kind of wary of the glitch. I'm fully confident that it will be fixed, but I hope it is via a patch and not by way of having to redownload the whole game (and possibly losing all progress). I think I'll take my chances and download it now anyway, but I'm still going to be paranoid until this fix happens.
I'm on the fence about VVVVVV, so I'll wait for the review. I just finished Mighty Switch Force, and I'm close to beating Pushmo, so another great 3DSWare game to play would be nice.
Wow, I bought the retail version for the same price that this downloadable version goes for. I haven't got around to playing it yet though, so I can't say whether or not I actually like it enough to consider getting this version.
This looks like a pretty interesting game. Since it got a European release I'll hold out hope that it might show up on the North American eShop (more than I would if was a Japan-only release, anyway).

Re: Weirdness: Chibi-Robo! Photo Finder Has a Virtual Butt Removed in North America
There's a slight error, as the first Chibi Robo DS game was released outside of Japan.
