@sublimesunset Together all EU Layton boxart look real nice together. But i think the US has better individual boxarts. Still that uniformity Europe has is nice... i think i may have chosen the wrong one
I beat Alisa last week. A survival horror in the style of ps1 Resident Evil. I liked it alot, partially because they included modern controls. I couldn't get the handle on the tank controls. Also i love the designs, the dollhouse/mansion has so many interesting rooms. This also made it easy to figure out where i was without using the map. I would love a doll/figure of this game.
Afterwards i started Psychonauts. I love the creative enviroments. Exploring in this game is alot of fun. Lots of the dialogue is pretty funny as well. I will probably beat it this weekend.
And next week its Fire Emblem time baby!!!!
Edit: i beat it last night. What i thought would 2/3 more stages turned out to be 1. In short great game, very funny and good controls. Best stages were Milla's party and the Milkman, both are great in terms of humor, character and platforming. Least favorite were the stageplay (one of the funniest but its gimmick wasn't as good compared to other stages) and the circus (a fine stage except my double jump kept glitching and not working at one part causing lots of frustration. Only part of the game i had that happen).
I genuinely don't get all the negativity. Like Nintendo got money from the US goverment and as a sign of goodwill they're holding sale to celebrate. It sounds like a win-win to me.
I'm interested in both Layton games. I've only played Katrielle and i liked that one, although i've heard that one isn't as liked by the fans compared to the professor
It was good. Kirby was the highlight for me with Persona and earlier shown stuff like Danganronpa and Stellar Blade. Metroid Ravenous looks cool but i haven't even played Dread yet so first i will try that.
I was genuinly suprised Fate Extra Record wasn't in the Sizzle Reel since they announced it was coming to Switch 2. GKC in EU and JP but US has physical on the cart for some asinine and annoying reason. The reason being different publishers in the regions. Yes i wrote this paragraph just to vent about that. For some reason Nintendolife hasn't reported on Fate Extra (yet).
Looks good. I thought the teaser from a couple month ago lookes off but seeing the game in motion it looked great! I like that it just looks like a new game and not just a texture update.
Looked way better than the teaser released last direct. I loved the way castle town looked. Honestly made me more hyped than i thought i would be going into the presentation.
Not so suprising to see Elden Ring leave. Most people that were interested probably bought it on Playstation or Xbox. I already beat it on PS4 and see no reason to buy it again.
Europe/Japan has beautiful artwork, i would love it as a poster or something. I feel this about tons of Castlevania boxarts. Like (EU) SotN or Aria of Sorrow.
Something about the American one looks less unique. It looks like the boxart for Dead Cells.
Kirby Air Riders is good. Races are fun, the story was alright but i did think it's weird that there isn't a grand prix mode for single player. There is one for online multiplayer but stil. The kirby fanservice was nice but i would've liked more, like a stage based on Haltman or a stage set on Halcandra.
Speaking of Fanservice Rabi Ribi! Metroidvania mixed with bullethell. The game is really good. When you unlock all of the movement about half way it feels so good to play. The games bullethell can be overwhelming but it never feels unfair. There is a recommended boss order but most bosses can be done in any order. Although some late game bosses are very difficult without the some abilities. To combat this the game scales boss damage/hp etc to around how much the player has found in the world. The story is also solid largely feels like slice of life anime with an excuse to fight eachtother for the bosses. The general world also reminded me of the cute vibe that Kirby has, lots of enemies are cute critters or blobs. The fanservice is close to an Anime beach episode so expect characters in bikinis or other revealing outfits, it's not as naughty as Senran Kagura. (My favs were Seana, Cicine, Cocoa, Pandora and Ashuri). I think by the amount i typed you can tell that i recommend this game.
For this week i've nothing planned but i'm thinking Alisa, a survival horror game. You know since last week i was deepdiving in cuteness
Monolith is one of the best Nintendo developers so they would be trusted with OoT. If i had to guess maybe monolith is helping with development but i don't think it's just them
I mostly play games i actually like and rarely 100% them. Although i did beat the Spyro Trilogy and i disliked the majority of those games (not 100% just got to the credits). So maybe i should think a bit more on if i'm wasting time....
If a direct is coming i'm willing to bet the Fate Extra Remake will be in it considering it was recently announced to come to Switch2. Something NintendoLife hasn't reported
It feels harsh to say but isn't the point of horror to be scary and unnerving? Like i get wanting to experience the story but making a horror game that intentionally tones itself down seems weird to me
@Uncle_Franklin Did most pokemon that got megas need them? Garchomp, Tyranitar, Metagross, Salamence and Baxcalibur are all pseudo legendaries. Mewtwo and Rayqauza are actual legendaries. Magearna, Diancie and Zeraora are mythicals.
The only ones that needed a mega imo should've gotten actual evolutions instead like Mawhile, Sableye, Audino, Falinks, Banette and Lopunny. They could've used the megas designs and it would be great except Falinks that would look a bit weird as an actual evo.
@Samalik Yeah, i agree. I was moreso thinking about if they were to do it with a small budget that also works as a nostalgia grab.
(P.S. i also agree with you when you stated that you would like more sequels that take place after ZXA for story reason. I love the Zero series but i wouldn't want a Zero 5 after the ending of 4. I would rather continue the story. But i think X is more marketable. I haven't beaten the X series so i don't know if 8 ends in a similar way to Zero 4)
America's is cropped version of the Japanese one. And Europe certainly has a unique cover .... moving on. Japan has the best one partly because it's just the American one but upgraded
I beat pokemon White 2 and Celeste. Both are really good games.
Celeste has a really emotional story that lands well for me. Plus the platforming was pretty fun and difficult. Big recommend from me.
White 2 is also really good but Black is the better gen 5 games, especially with it's ending, Black is just more epic and intense. The gen 5 dex is the best (with gen 7 as a close runner up). Even during White 2 i only used gen 5 pokemon even though other pokemon are available during the story.
After Celeste i started Rabi-Ribi, a metroidvania/bullethell with lots of ecchi. Plus a somewhat silly story.
I also randomly found Kirby Airiders at a 30 euro discount. So i started that as well.
But most importantly.... I FINALLY HAVE ALL THE ARTWORK IN ACNH!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! NO LONGER WILL I SUFFER UNDER RED'S TYRANNY!!!!
God bless Geoff Keighly. He tries to make multiple big gaming events every year and the response is always "okay that fine" but he doesn't give up! Even if E3 a bigger (arguably better) event failed but maybe Geoff has some secret formula
Looking at his designs both the people and pokemon are good. Sinistea, Phuntump, Golurk etc. Homestly among the best of the generations they're apart of! Also he desgned the Pachirisu girl from battle revolution so he's goated just for that. The only one i don't care for are the Paldean Tauros. But even Kantonian Tauros is lame so there wasn't much he could've done besides just making new pokemon.
Last week i decided on playing a 2d platformer it was between Rabi Ribi and Celeste...... and instead i played Pokemon Black..... so this weekend i will play Pokemon White 2 the sequel.
Also Black's story is way better then i remember, most of the time people just talk about N and Team Plasma but Bianca and Cheren's arcs are also really good. Plus most gymleaders have a moments where you meet them outside of the gym which really helps to make them memorable.
I did buy Celeste and Rabi Ribi because they were both on sale
One thing i hope is also in this update is when the game shows a trailer of 2 Chapter for some reason the voice over jumped from Japanese to English for me. I'm assuming that was glitch or something.
I beat Metaphor: rephantazio! Solid game. I really like that it was easy to do all of the social links without feeling any time pressure like in persona. I liked all the character but my favs were Gallica, Strohl, Bassilio and Catherina. The gameplay itself is solid too, it's the persona formula for both how the days and battles work. One difference is no romance though which is kinda odd considering atleast 3 of the girls social links felt like they wanted to end it that way.
Anyway this weekend.... uuuhhh i wanna play a 2D platformer, kinda stuck between Rabi Ribi or Celeste
Sunshine is a good game but out of all the 3D marios it's my least favorite. But being the worst 3D mario is still better than most other 3D platformers
The only metroid games i've played are NES and Super. Still i personally chose Dread. I really like the stark contrast with Samus brighter colours and the background black/red
If i had to guess it's in-house. it's Ocarina, this game is one of their highest rated games ever. I just don't think they would leave it to someone else.
Looks like a solid list. Personally i'm most looking forward to Stellar Blade.

Re: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Professor Layton And The Spectre's Call
EU's title sounds cooler but US has the full art and not a weird window cropping
Edit: Europe has all the boxarts match. I was wrong the window isn't weird. It's nice.

Re: 'Yo-kai Watch 2: Haunted Domain' Is Real, And It's Coming To Switch 2
Damn can't wait to never see this release in the west! We still haven't gotten the remake of 1 or 4.....
Also 6/10 for the 3ds game damn that's my favourite of the 3ds trilogy
Re: Gallery: Here's A Closer Look At Zelda: Ocarina Of Time On Switch 2
Zelda's nose looks kinda yeah. Other than that the game looks great. I really love Sheik's and Ruto's design.

Kirby Air Riders is good. Races are fun, the story was alright but i did think it's weird that there isn't a grand prix mode for single player. There is one for online multiplayer but stil. Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Directs September 2026 Predictions - What Do You Hope To See?
I will predict something about Fate extra remake because it was recently annouced for switch. I kinda hope for a Warioware for switch 2
For zelda, i would love a collection of older games. But that won't happen so i guess just some fun collectible like the Game&Watch from the 35th
Re: Japanese Charts: Elden Ring Puts Up A Good Fight, But It's Felled By The Reigning Champ
Both are very timing based. So maybe Elden Ring is just prep for the real hard game

I just beat this on PS4. It's really good! Would recommend if you're a fan of Persona or just JRPGs in general.
Looking at Push Square review. I do agree with most that was said.

If Capcom wants to do it they could just make a cheap game reusing the old 2d sprites to test the waters

I just looked at a list of popular games released this and i played nothing. I guess i've been playing lots of older games

I will probably beat metaphor this week. After this i'm thinking a 2d game probably Rabi-Ribi, played on steam years ago but it's also on Switch
Re: Nintendo Highlights Multiple Major Third-Party Releases For Switch 2 In 2026 And Beyond
Looks like a solid list. Personally i'm most looking forward to Stellar Blade.
Also it suprises me that they didn't highlight Trails in the Sky chapter 2, the first game reviewed well and it's coming next month on the same day as Fire Emblem.
Re: Nintendo Reconfirms Release Windows For Upcoming Switch 2 Games
