@chiefeagle02 SMB DX was great for the GBC because of the GB Printer and because you couldn't stick an NES cart or the FDS disk card on it. Without the printer and considering you can get the original NES and FDS games already, the only thing left are the challenges. IMO, if you really want it you should get the real thing instead or buy the already existing FC and FDS VC games (especially because they couldn't include the Worlds A through D of Lost Levels for some reason).
@Porky Maybe they didn't take the day off but sure were in a hurry, they messed up bad with the Level-5 games for the 3DS. Those are just mouth-watering offers. Forget about Lego and what was the other?... Oh yeah, TMNT (Activision+Nickelodeon=Christmas dinner puking). I hope they have a designated writer for next week, but like they insisted here, you gotta be sure to jump in the eShop.
I'd like to congratulate the staff at NL for their very trained eye and their good memory. Despite being in the US (I believe), they remembered the Ad was European. Not like a Spanish (as in Europe's Spain) website that fell for the rumor completely: http://www.gamespek.com/2014/12/14/wii-u-podria-tener-un-rediseno-en-breve/
Putting all the controller options (including Wii) in the balance with the GC adapter and consider the pros and cons, does actually a little convenience of button layout and nostalgia tilt the balance in favor of the adapter? Only a GC VC could really tilt it (and then again maybe not, the other controllers would do well too).
@brooks83 They've already screwed it up by making it a one-game-only peripheral. They need to work on that and fast before the hype/fad/whatever wears off.
@Light
The adapter should be sold separately at a good price considering the very, very limited use it will have, but I bet it will be only be available as am expensive, limited edition pack-in. If it would be as cheap as $15-20, it will indeed be a saving-money option.
There's is one big problem with the original GC controllers, the rubber on the stick gets off very easily, as time goes by, it will be harder to find a working controller in good condition. The only option will be buying a new Smash-GC edition that will be expensive.
@Light Some games require you to unplug the add-on controllers, a controller like the one on the petition would be as if it is hard-wired. It will break compatibility completely. Maybe that's why they didn't listen to that petition but opted for a worse choice instead.
@Light
The WiiU expects a Wii Remote or GamePad to work correctly and ensure 100% compatibility. A firmware update for such controller should let you get a pad-controlled pointer to navigate as with the other controllers. Not to mention that it will bring a similar problem as with the GC adapter as only games developed with this new type of controller in mind would work.
@Kirk
I think you are having little overreaction over colors. If you have a broken GC controller, I bet you could change some parts.
@Light
It will require a firmware update that wouldn't make mandatory a pointer device... For Nintendo that would be crazy talk (but is not crazy talk to make a one-game-only adapter). The PDP controller is the next best thing, IMO.
This gimmick will only be a collectible item in the future as it has little use. for the same GC Controller feeling, the PDP GC Style Classic Controller Pro is a better option and even has better designs (not to mention it has the -, + and Home buttons). On the bright side, if you need a replacement controller for your good ol' GC, this is the chance to get a brand new one (with a larger cable). I for one won't rush to the store to get this at launch date.
Inferior hardware but superior minds to back it up. The Vita is like Neanderthals, all strength but no brains, PS All-Stars is the proof of it, they had the chance and they blew it. I doubt Nintendo will have to shut down Sora and outsource the patching to someone else to finish the released game and make it playable.
If PSV is so powerful, why it can only handle novels? Even the GBA could have handled those.
I think it's more of a coincidence than a nod and a very vague one. Samus has to crouch before morphing. If she couldn't morph, she would have to crawl to move after crouching. It sounds to me like a logical way to describe the varia suit morphing ball ability. Besides, you have to be a real noob to call Samus, Metroid. When I read that stupid meme, all I could imagine was a "Metroid" trying to crawl with its claws. Bravo? For the game, but not for this nod, IF it is a nod.
It's actually a hack of the original NES version, not an unreleased game. Check the info here: http://tcrf.net/Donkey_Kong_(NES) The only real port was included in DK64. I can't believe how neglectful has Nintendo been for their arcade games.
This video is a fragment of the track I mentioned, after Luigi demonstrates the proper handling of the disk cards, they show another procedure at the disk writter. That's when they carry the NES cart, I thought it was the whole track, not this fragment. I wish they could have put the commercial where that still with the girl and the writter was taken from. Now, that will be vintage.
This video is not that vintage nor rare, it's a track from the Famicom 20th Anniversary Soundtrack DVD released in 2003. The wierd thing about this video is that Mario and Luigi carry an NES cart.

It wasn't like a reply, it was more like my opinion on the same subject. Sorry chiefeagle02. This forum should have a "quote" button too.

Nostalgia sells, is the same case as with that awful TMNT movie.

The stand-alone will be released at launch?

As you can see with the release of the stupid GC adapter, the minds behind the peripheral are not among the brightest.
