This game may not look like much but its actually pretty good, kinda like Rolling Thunder. This is also available in Sonic's Genesis Collection on the PS3/360 if anyone's interested.
@Crunc: Its not really supposed to be a game though. If you went ito it expecting it to be a triditional game then obviously your going to be disappointed.
I was really interested in this since Don Bluth is one of my favorite animatores. But I don't think I'll even bother with the DSi versions... plus I don't even have a DSi.
This is quite possibly my favorite game on the NES, or atleast its in my top 5. Its been a while since this came out on VC, but I still hope we see more Kunio Kun games on here.
... or at the vary least they could give us Double Dragon II.
I wasn't sure what to think of this game when I first played it. The controls were kinda stiff and I had no clue where I was suppose to go. But it seems like the game gets alot better if you commit to it. So I'll deffinitely consider downloading this once it hits the NA VC.
Since I wasn't a vary big fan of Sonic Rush, I'd much rather play the Wii version. But this does look pretty solid I suppose. I might pick it up when its cheaper.
Its a little sad that so many people are getting this excited over a feature that really should have been here since the start, or atleast since last year.
What's also sad is I don't think I'll even be able to get my Wii connected again any time befor Christmas...
Do all the episodes have to cost the same? How knows, the first one may cost $15 but the second could cost only $10. Either way, I might just get this on PSN instead since it could possibly be cheaper.
And to the people who are saying this game better be as good as Sonic 2 or 3. It wont. You should just save youself the dissapointment and accept that. It doesn't really matter what Sega does, Sonic 4 will not be as good as the Genesis titles. Thats not to say it will suck. I think Sonic 4 will turn out pretty good, just not Genesis good.
@JimLad: I hope your aware that Super Mario bros. really only popularized that style of game design. There were plenty of "progressive adventure" type games that existed long before Super Mario Bros. It wasn't all just about scores, even back then.
Now I'm not trying to bash SMB. I'm just saying that its alittle ignorant to say that SMB "created" modern gaming.
This WILL be a budget title, so it obviously won't cost more then $30. This doesn't really bother me at all. I'll just pick up the game when it goes down to the price that it probably would have been on WiiWare.
@Token Girl: This is not the same game thats on PSN/XBLA. This game has some completely different gameplay modes and features.
I actually really liked this game. The vehicle missions were fun and the on-foot missions didn't really bother me too much. I had alot of fun with the multiplayer to.
This is deffinetly not the worst game in the series, Star Fox Command was way worse IMO.
I actually enjoyed the Atari 7800 version more than this. Don't really know why though, the 7800 version still only had the 3 levels. But I think the levels had a bit more detail, and the graphics were a bit crisper.
I have such fond memories playing this game with my friend on his Genesis. I've never played the first one, and I didn't even know there was a 3rd one until now.
This game is a true Genesis classic that never really got the recognition it deserved.
Kinda sucks that we don't know when this will come to NA. The Wiimote may be a poor substitute to those nerve-damaging, force-feedback machine guns, but I would still be more than willing to give up $15 or $20 to play these games again.
I've always wanted to play a Costum Robo game. At first, they seemed like nothing more than ripoffs of Sega's Virtual On. But, I'd imagine Custom Robo would be easier to play since you wouldn't need a special controller to play them properly.
I also played this game on one of those SNK collections on the PS2. I love a good beat 'em up and this one was... okay. Its no Final Fight, but I'd take this over the SNES port of Final Fight any day.
If your not much for this style of game then this is deffinetly not going to win you over.
I don't see what everybody's getting so worked up about. There are plenty of characters that only appear in the Archie comics.
I also don't agree with anyone who says that the only good supporting characters are Tails, knuckles and Robotnik. Pretty much all the characters that were introduced in the '90s were good (excluding Big the cat). Its just a shame that most of them were forgotton.
Gameplay looks pretty solid. That music is pretty bad but I have faith that the rest of the soundtrack will turn out fine (as long as the rest of the tracks don't have any vocals).
I'm still more interested in Sonic 4 at this point though.
I remember buying this game about a year and a half ago. I only bought it because it was really cheap, I didn't think it was going to be vary good. But it actually became one of my favorite GB games.

Re: Zelda: Skyward Sword Getting "Finishing Touches"
I honestly wasn't even expecting this game to come out this year...
Re: Review: Black Tiger (Virtual Console / Virtual Console Arcade)
I really like the look of this game. I've never played it, but it looks like alot more fun than Ghost'n Goblins.
Re: Rodea the Sky Soldier Flying to Wii and 3DS
It looks like a mixture of NiGHTS and Sin & Punishment with a bit of Shadow of the Colossus thrown in.
I like it.
Re: Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi
Awesome game. Not quite as good as The Revenge of Shinobi or Shinobi III, but still worth it.
Game had a pretty kick ass soundtrack too.
Re: ESWAT: City Under Siege
This game may not look like much but its actually pretty good, kinda like Rolling Thunder.
This is also available in Sonic's Genesis Collection on the PS3/360 if anyone's interested.
Re: R-Type
Looks really impressive. I never really played R-Type all that much, but this deffinetly looks like a quality port.
And, MY GOD, the box art is actually decent (for an SMS game).
Re: Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine
This game was... decent. I played a fair amount of it on the Sonic Mega Collection.
Actually, I think what I enjoyed most about this game was the music, and the refrences to the "Adventures of Sonic" cartoon.
Re: Review: Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp (DSiWare)
@Crunc: Its not really supposed to be a game though. If you went ito it expecting it to be a triditional game then obviously your going to be disappointed.

Re: Review: Darius Twin (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)
I love Tiato's arcade games, and I love a good shoot 'em up where I can actually get more than a few stages in without quiting in frustration.
But I think I'll pass on this one, for now at least.
Re: Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master
Ninja games really don't get much more classic than this.
Ninja Gaiden has nothing on Shinobi!
Re: River City Ransom
This is quite possibly my favorite game on the NES, or atleast its in my top 5. Its been a while since this came out on VC, but I still hope we see more Kunio Kun games on here.
... or at the vary least they could give us Double Dragon II.
Re: Super Hang-On
I used to play this a lot on my friend's Genesis, Great game.
Re: Review: Faxanadu (Virtual Console / NES)
I wasn't sure what to think of this game when I first played it. The controls were kinda stiff and I had no clue where I was suppose to go. But it seems like the game gets alot better if you commit to it. So I'll deffinitely consider downloading this once it hits the NA VC.
Re: Review: Sonic Colours (Wii)
Looks damn good. I'll deffinetly give it a rent soon. And will probably end up buying it latter on when its a bit cheaper.
Re: Review: Sonic Colours (DS)
Since I wasn't a vary big fan of Sonic Rush, I'd much rather play the Wii version.
But this does look pretty solid I suppose. I might pick it up when its cheaper.
Re: Six Capcom Arcade Classics Launching on VC this Winter
Meh, the only game I could see myself getting is Black Tiger. And I would probably get the PS2 collections before downloading any of these.
Still though, its nice to see SOMEBODY supporting the VC with some arcade games.
Re: Rumour: House of the Dead: Overkill Sequel on the Way
Nice, I really enjoyed Overkill from what I played of it. It was almost as good as HotD 2.
I should probably pick up Overkill since its pretty cheap now, and a Perfect Shot as well since the Zapper F***ing sucks.
Re: Review: Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals (DS)
I don't really know why but I was more interested in this game then any other DS game thats coming out this fall.
I guess this is just another game to add to my large list of DS games that I still need to buy (eventually).
Re: Exclusive: Nintendo Bringing Back WiiWare Demos
Its a little sad that so many people are getting this excited over a feature that really should have been here since the start, or atleast since last year.

Re: Review: Kirby's Epic Yarn (Wii)
... I wasn't even aware this game was coming out today.
Re: Cave Story Update Now Available
Damn, now I really have no reason not to download this. I mean, I probably was going to download it anyways but this just seals the deal.
Re: Review: Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 (WiiWare)
An 8/10 is about what I expected. I never expected this game to be on par with the Genesis titles anyway.
I'm also vary glad to hear that this isn't just Sonic Rush on the big screen, that was probably my biggest concern with this game.
I'll likely be getting this on PSN in a week or so.
Re: Nintendo Download: 11th October 2010 (North America)
Nice. I thought about Sonic 4 yesterday (when it came out) but I didn't bother to go to this site to check it out.
I still probably won't get Sonic 4 for atleast another week or so, and I'll probably end up getting the PSN version.
Re: Nintendo Power Claims Sonic 4: Episode 1 Will Cost 1500 Points
Do all the episodes have to cost the same? How knows, the first one may cost $15 but the second could cost only $10. Either way, I might just get this on PSN instead since it could possibly be cheaper.

Re: Nintendo Download: 27th September (North America)
Lawn Darts? Now thats exciting.
Re: First Impressions: Lost in Shadow
I really like the look of this game. I probably won't buy it at release but i'll deffinetly keep an eye on it.
Re: Super Mario Bros. was Gaming's Big Bang, says Kojima
@NintyFan: What exacly did Donkey Kong start?
@JimLad: I hope your aware that Super Mario bros. really only popularized that style of game design. There were plenty of "progressive adventure" type games that existed long before Super Mario Bros. It wasn't all just about scores, even back then.

Re: Review: Batman: The Brave and the Bold (Wii)
I'll deffinetly be renting this game. I'll probably buy it when its a bit cheaper to.
Re: Review: Gunblade NY and LA Machineguns Arcade Hits Pack (Wii)
The game's been out for 2 weeks already? I guess I haven't been paying much attention then.
It doesn't matter though since I probably won't buy this game this month anyways.
Re: Review: Gunblade NY and LA Machineguns Arcade Hits Pack (Wii)
Kinda sucks that we don't know when this will come to NA. The Wiimote may be a poor substitute to those nerve-damaging, force-feedback machine guns, but I would still be more than willing to give up $15 or $20 to play these games again.
Re: Double Up in Sonic Colours Co-Op Multiplayer
Hmm, I knew this game would have some sort of mutiplayer to it. And it looks okay I guess, but this is still only a rental to me.
Re: Nintendo Download: 6th September (North America)
Samurai Showdown makes this a fairly decent update. Everything else looks terrible though...
Re: Review: Custom Robo Arena (DS)
I've always wanted to play a Costum Robo game. At first, they seemed like nothing more than ripoffs of Sega's Virtual On. But, I'd imagine Custom Robo would be easier to play since you wouldn't need a special controller to play them properly.
Re: Nintendo Download: 30th August 2010 (North America)
Hmm, I knew this update would be abysmal. I guess it was too much to ask for two decent updates in a row.
Re: Nintendo Download: August 23rd (North America)
Looks like a pretty good update, haven't seen one of those in a while.
Re: Burning Fight
I also played this game on one of those SNK collections on the PS2. I love a good beat 'em up and this one was... okay. Its no Final Fight, but I'd take this over the SNES port of Final Fight any day.
If your not much for this style of game then this is deffinetly not going to win you over.
Re: Brace for Impact as Fatal Fury 3 Smacks Up Europe this Week
Hopefully we get this here in NA sooner than later because... well, its better than nothing.
Re: Castlevania
A legenary game. But also one of the weaker ones in the series simply because of how frustrating it can get IMO.
The music is awesome though.
Re: Archie Writer Reveals Sonic Colours Comic, Hints at New Characters
I don't see what everybody's getting so worked up about. There are plenty of characters that only appear in the Archie comics.

Re: Review: Star Fox Command (DS)
Honestly, I'd take either of the two gamecube titles over this game any day.
Re: Batman: The Brave and the Bold Vignette Unmasks the DS Version
Didn't even know there was a DS version, but the Wii version looks fantastic.
Re: First Sonic Colours Gameplay Trailer Drills, Dashes and Grinds
Gameplay looks pretty solid. That music is pretty bad but I have faith that the rest of the soundtrack will turn out fine (as long as the rest of the tracks don't have any vocals).
I'm still more interested in Sonic 4 at this point though.
Re: First Impressions: DOT MAN
A remake of Dodge 'em? Really? That game was pretty simplistic, even for an Atari game.
Re: Sonic Colours Gets Release Dates
I'll probably give it a rent sometime before Christmas then.
Re: Review: Batman: The Video Game (Game Boy)
I remember buying this game about a year and a half ago. I only bought it because it was really cheap, I didn't think it was going to be vary good. But it actually became one of my favorite GB games.
Re: And Yet It Moves Tears Up North America on August 23rd
Well its about time we get a solid date. This is one of the few WiiWare game that I'm looking forward to.
