Currently working my way through this game. I'm finding it much tougher from the off than BK was. Nevertheless an enjoyable game that I am having great fun with.
@MussakkuLaden I don't think it was ever to be a list of the 64 best games. We wanted to reflect a diversity of games & developers, as well as including as many exclusives as possible.
@MegaWatts It has just never done it for me. Maybe I have always unfairly compared it to Goldeneye & Perfect Dark as I have never been a FPS expert. I just couldn't ever get into it even w/friends.
I preferred this Goemon game back in the day because 2D platformers were more my thing. However, as a retro gamer, the first N64 instalment is a much more exciting, addictive 1-player gaming experience.
@CaptainToad I agree - it probably couldn't be improved upon and it is a stupendous game. My 9 reflects what others have said: it lacks the charm of Goldeneye and I have more affection for it, that's all.
I got my parents to buy this solely based on N64 Magazine's review. I loved it. Yes it's ropey, even back then, but it was a great play. I found it incredibly rewarding.

Re: Nintendo 64x64: GoldenEye 007
@Sherman You're right. I stand corrected - think I forgot it because once I got access to Egyptian I felt like I had completed it.
