Yes, he does have a very good point, but what happens when the experience differs too greatly from what people expect the character to be associated with? For example, Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts was allegedly a good game. However, people wanted a collectathon instead of a car game and now it is largely rejected.
What would be cool is if, during the final battle versus Ganon's army, it looks like you will lose, and then (KABOOM!) a entire wall off of Ganon's fortress falls revealing Zelda and the entire Hyrulian army led by her. Cue a final boss fight with Link and Zelda vs Ganon with the two armies fighting around you.
That would be Zelda being a stronger character AND it would make the final scene that more spectacular.
Here's the main problem with this. Zelda currently has three games in development, Wind Waker HD, A Link Between Worlds, and the unnamed Zelda HD for Wii U. Without being cautious, Zelda games could fall into the same problem as New Super Mario Bros and have 5 games released really close to each other causing fatigue of the franchise. That being said, I'd probably still buy it.
I for certain am not buying this on day one. The only reason is because I haven't played any of them since the first one and I want to do them in order.
I think it looks smart at first to clam ad revenue. I mean, It's their stuff. However, it is really bad for PR. You got a group of fans so dedicated that they show their favorite games from Nintendo and then you go say "Hey you know that thing that costs us nothing and we are being advertised by? Yeah. We want to have our cake and eat it too." And yeah, most Lest Plays are dumb. However some people (like Chuggaaconroy) put tons of work into the videos and make a rather good end result. Also, to my understanding. Reviews are being hit too (which is a biiiiig no no).
At the end of the day, Nintendo can do this, but they really really shouldn't.
After a few minutes, I pondered over this and came to this conclusion. Yes, it would be nice to have no region lock, but it's like having a radio in your car. Yes, it is nice to have. Some may require a radio before even considering to buy the car. However, at the end of the day, the radio barely matters. The car will run just fine with or without the radio. Maybe your driving experience will be lessened by your inability to loop "Donuts, Go Nuts!" over and over, but the car will get you to your destination. I'm getting the game because I don't feel like I need to play with everybody in the world, nor do I have international friends. Maybe you do, but I don't. As a matter of fact, I'm getting the 3DS version which doesn't even have Wi-Fi. So, I'm pretty much not getting cup holders with my hypothetical car either. At the end of the day. Many choices in your life will matter. This is not one of them. Do what you will and have fun with or without this game.
@DarkKirby First and foremost, I recommend this game. To address your concerns, most of the AI is very smart. It is smart to the point where you can pick up some things a species does to use to your advantage (such as Rathians defending their nest so taking eggs lure them to you). While the animals do make threatening gestures, they tend to do so when they are far from you (unless it's a roar then they'll tend to pick a time which benefits them the most, as roars stun you for a short time). Most monsters don't telegraph their attacks, although some how you pick up attack patterns and eventually learn to avoid many attacks through pure skill. If you play a ranged class, many of the faster monsters go out of their way to attack you even if they are currently being attacked. Combat is very indeph. Each melee weapon has a sharpness, power, and affinity levels, not to mention elements, skills, slots, numerous upgrades, and each weapon plays differently. The blowgun has all of these (except for the sharpness) and it has different ammo types and mixable parts.
All and all, this game has a whole lot of depth and is a lot of fun. I recommend it.
Animal Crossing: Coming out? Surely they have a better name for the US and EU versions. I mean, City folk was called, "Let's Go to the City," in Japan.
@xenomaster I assume it is because remembering something like "CloudFan97" is a lot easier to remember than remembering a twelve digit code of random numbers not to mention the name would be easier to type.
Oh no... All the mad catz stuff I have bought has broken is some way on me, save for my GameCube memory card. Fortunately, nothing seems like it is electronic, so maybe it'll be better.
Hurray! A harvest moon whose protagonists don't look like five-year-olds! I'm looking forward to this game. However, I hope they change the grass texture. Chroma key green would get nauseating after a while. On another note, I REALLY want that llama thing at the end.
I rather like it, although it looks a bit bulky. However, the thing is, If Monster Hunter is going to have support for this, wouldn't that mean that Capcom is at least partially responsible for making it? And why would Nintendo remake a system because of a third party company? That would be HORRIBLE for business.
1. They would lose customers and their loyalty 2. The stock holders may think that Nintendo is dying due to the price drop and the model remake 3. The remodel would do the exact thing it does now (with the accessories built in) and they would need to charge more for it. 4. What rival company is releasing a new portable system soon? That's right, Sony. Nintendo wouldn't want to have all of the above and have to compete the new model against a PSVita (which would be out and bought by the time the 3DS2 would come out)
Unless I am overlooking something, I feel everyone is jumping to conclusions. Every system has some third party peripherals, but it doesn't yet mean a remake.

I wish I could get this deal, but I'm in America, and Nintendo has region-locking.

I kinda hope they localize the collection.

Re: 3DS RPG Fantasy Life Already Sold Out In Japan
Just another reminder that I need to get around to learning this language.... Why isn't there a game for that?
Re: Game Freak: The Pokémon World Will Be Evolving In 2013
I would love to see the battles go from turn-based to real-time (i.e. pokepark wii).

Re: 3DS Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Won't Be Venturing Online
I'm glad that the WiiU will. Although, I am a bit disappointed that the 3ds won't. I guess I'll need to save up for both.

I'm not a big anime person, but I feel like I need to watch this.

I had 680 last night. I've also seemed to have lost all of my codes that I was saving.
Guess who scoured the house last night and found just enough?
I worked for that thing. I can't wait for it
Re: Michael Pachter: Activision Demanded Wii U Pro Controller for CoD
I dunno. If the cardboard Mario was the right price, I'd probably get it.

I'm actually debating learning Japanese in order to get japan exclusive games like this.

Re: Capcom Considering Monster Hunter 3 G Western Release
I may not pick this up. If it doesn't have wifi, I have no want for it as the online multiplayer was the best part of the series.
Re: Monster Hunter 3G Definitely Doesn't Have Online Play
Great... Well, that's one less reason for me to buy a 3DS. I kinda wish that Monster Hunter was more popular here.

YES! I hope it does come out. The 3DS needs some good games.
