@TheWanderingBard I can't talk about Switch Oled docked but on Switch Lite I can guarantee you that there are zero performance issues. There is only one gripe on the Switch Lite that does not affect gameplay in any sense, NPCs do not have shadows. (Perhaps that is why performance on Lite is better?).
@SBandy1 Ok genius, a score is a score a 9 is better score than a 7, do you need an abacus or a calculator to sum? I played both games enough and I am not saying that SoS is not a good game but giving SoS a 9 and this game a 7 that is not making sense. Did you play Fate Samurai or you are just imaging how it is and giving an empty opinion?
With all respect to Sea of Stars devs but giving SoS a 9 out of 10 and this game a 7 out of 10 is like saying, I rather drive a Toyota Yaris instead of a Ferrari.
And, this game is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING even on the Switch, nice and smooth graphics, excellent battlesystem and OVER THE TOP cutscenes. If this game is a 7 out of 10, th an no game deserves an 8 or more.
Also the menus are way better, the GC had a rough layout. Only blind wanna be people can't notice the improvements and constantly whining about performance and missing English dubs. Let go and enjoy the game.
People are constantly whining about performance issues, I am 16 hours in, no issues so far. The fact that there are no English VOs is not catastrophic. A 7 is way too low, this game deserves at least an 8.5. The HD graphics are by far superior than the Gamecube version. All in all a GREAT game.
This IS the best Trails games so far in all aspects. You probably do not know the Trails series enough. How much hours did you invest in Reverie? 2 hours?
Performance issues? What performance Issues? I am playing on Switch Light and the performance is perfect. This game is a solid 9 out of 10. None of your - (negatives) are valid.
@Kestrel go back to Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy 6, these games are too much for you to play or understand. You need to focus a RPGs for kids between 6 - 10 years. Good luck.
Also, NL needs to be more cautious when doing a review, telling us players, that a game is crappy with a 5 out of 10 and we go and play it to discover that the review was very poor and the game IS A GOOD/GREAT game, NL will lose credibility. People, us players, will not take any reviews from NL serious.
Update: after close to 25 hrs in, 8.5 out of 10. Game is REALLY great. Tutorial is long because there is so many things in this game to know while doing battles.
After playing this game 20+ hours, I can honestly say that this is a great game. The story drags you in also. As soon as you get XXXXXXXXX (won't spoil his/her name) the game gets really interesting. You'll get hooked and truly care for some characters, while hating others. Overall 8.5 - 9 out of 10.
Ok glad to hear that, I may have misjudged you comment based on negative reviews I read. Yes I am really loving SOA AL so far. The more you play the better the story gets and the character interactions are great. And Yes Engage is really a great game, another one with so many negatives from Three Houses fans. I am glad you enjoyed it. I played up to chapter 6 but now I am sucked into SOA AL. Hope you too have fun with SOA AL when you get a chance to play it. Sorry for misjudging your comments, again my reaction was solely based on so many critics on SOA AL and Engage.
@Nanami_Ataraxi what a pitty, it is a great game as long as you understand the mechanics probably you don't, being the reason why you forgot about it. I am currently playing it while having a full libary of good games, including the recent Fire Emblem Engage. I am enjoying this game and I am a Turnbased RPG lover at heart, while this isn't.
When I see your comment, "nothing new or novel" it makes me laugh, sorry. Tell me which Tactical RPG you played that you can have 3 completely different jobs at the same time or that you can have 3 different limit breaks at the same time (S-Skills, H-Skills and G-Skills)? Buddy YOU DID NOT PLAY THIS GAME, you probably watch a video and did a quick review.
Your review by far but by far does not give justice to this game. This is one of the best Tactical RPGs ever created. By far better than FFT, Tactics Orge and so on. The music is ourstanding, it is 99% voiced with good voice overs in English, many many job classes including unique jobs, great skills tree, did I say that you can have 3 different classes at the same time? And that there are 3 limit breaks in the game called secret, holy and god skills? The story is great not the same stories we heard 1000 times before, it is based on Japanese Myth/Culture. If you want a good challenge play it on Hard, it will make you plan well how to overcome the challenges, the boss fights on hard are indeed hard and the game takes between 60 - 100 hours to complete including DLCs. I do not think that you even played this game enough because your review is very poor, you turn away people with a review so poor and that is a pity. I recently discovered this game and I am super glad. I give it a solid 9.5. I have been playing RPGs and Tactical RPGs for over 30 years, so my review has a good assessment on whether a game is good or not.
When I see Harvestella I can only think about "one word" LAZINESS. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT A MODERN GAME FROM A WORLD TOP VIDEOGAME COMPANY NOT HAVING VOICE OVERS? Sorry but SE is getting lazier with each new release. I have supported SE by buying a AA game like DIO FIELD for the price of a AAA game, but this time I'll pass. I am not going to buy any new SE game unless SE gives proper respect for its customers, delivering a mediocre game is disrespectful SE. Sorry, but I need to tell you the truth, my first SE games were Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy for the NES (1986/1987). So I am a great supporter for SE for over 30 years, but this is not acceptable anymore.
Seriously? Chrono Trigger? A g a i n? Come on, stop living in the past. There are a lot of other games much but much better that deserve a 2DHD Remake not listed here, like Treasure of The Rudras SNES, Super Robot Taisen Exceed NDS, Luminious Arc 3 NDS, Xenosaga 1 & 2 NDS and so on. Not the same Oldies again and again. FF 6 has been re-re-re-re-remade on all posible consoles even on Android. Come on? Don't you people get bored to play the same game 10 million times????
@PlusUltra if you like button smashing than you need to look elsewhere, although this game has button smashing in battles for the chains etc. It is a very good game and some people like I really love turnbased RPGs. Alas Sqenix messed up the FF series, these are not traditional TBs anymore, good ol'times.
Easy because you should have tried Hard and you'll see that you will die like crazy, I am pretty sure that on hard everbody dies the first time they face Jellal, and that is still early in the game. Performace on Switch Light is PERFECT, zero issues. It makes me wonder on which Switch you played. Story, it's very interesting even for a nonfan to the anime and really I have played 200+ RPGs and this is one of the best games touching the start/intro of the game, many RPGs start with the protagonist on a bed awaking or in a house etc. The gameplay is superb, your review does not do justice to the game. It should be around 8.5.
Come on, I see this coming to mobile too, why not being less lazy and translate the NDS versions and make these as the SAGA Collection instead of sending us around 35 years back in the past. I doubt these will be best sellers ever. What a waste of time and money.

Will this game ever be released??
Re: Upcoming Switch Fighter DNF Duel Announces Season Pass Roadmap
@theModestMouse still you own the game, gatcha crap depends on the devs, once not profitable anymore, bye bye server and you lost all your money.

Here is where Square Enix gets squared with its Final Fantasy series, the Legend of Heroes series IS THE serie, best of all series!
