For anyone wondering about multiplayer, you invite people to your home base and then can either select the town area or the huge open area. You can’t do any side quests at all. Not even life challenges which would make sense. Instead the open area is filled with small challenges like killing all monsters and stuff like that. Each complete challenge contributes towards a bar and once it’s full I assume a boss appears. You only have 60mins to do this and only this. All the other single player content like towers and villages to open aren’t available.
Even the town area which is just for buying supplies and stuff limits you to 30mins for some reason. It’s pretty barebones.
The other thing you can do is a randomised dungeon where you work your way down a set of floors with objectives to complete before you can continue. This isn’t just fighting but also things like catching fish or mining.

You can play the game locally but the second player doesn’t have their own character and are instead a side character that can just help.

It’s all very disappointing but the single player experience is amazing!
