My Life in Gaming absolutely slated these. Their video is worth a watch for anyone remotely curious - it gives an in depth explanation and demonstration on why they're a load of balls.
Have any of you ever cringed so hard that your balls went, like, right up inside you? If so, do they eventually come out by themselves or is this going to be a medical emergency?
S'funny how we keeping hearing about TOTK winning all these incidental awards in articles desperate to assure people it's really, really good.
If you dig it, then I'm happy for you, it's an objectively good game - but that doesn't change that there's a sizeable portion within the Zelda community, and the gaming community as a whole, that felt it was a bit of a mis-step for the series.
Jesus, the amount of Corpo-sucking comments hammering on one guy and celebrating a lifelong punishment - on behalf of a company that barely pretends to care about you all.
@PinderSchloss Same - I sold my copy after finishing it, which is something I never thought I'd do with a Zelda game. I even still have Triforce Heroes, FFS.
@ManaOwls "I thought Breath of the Wild was the better experience."
Wholeheartedly agree - not only was it a fresh experience, but it felt final, like it was the sum of every adventure we had played thus far, whether it was intended or not. I genuinely came away from BOTW feeling like I could comfortably and happily close the book on Zelda... Playing TOTK made me wish I had, as it retroactively soured BOTW for me, which I think is what I'm most bitter about.
OG looks phenomenal when upscaled with a smooth filter - the flat shading really helps to emphasis the cartoon aesthetic they were going for, while the bloom lighting looks great, but makes Wind Waker look like a 3D game, rather than a cartoon.

Re: Geoff Keighley Reminds Everyone To Get Their Votes In For The Game Awards
TOTK doesn't deserve GOTY.
6~ years for BOTW with crafting mechanics, sky-land and depths DLC, and a stock anime plot?
If you enjoyed it, then I'm happy for you - however, the series deserved better from a mainline entry, and so do we for that matter.
Re: Zelda Movie Director Wants Film To Feel Like "Live-Action Miyazaki"
And I'd have loved for Maze Runner to feel like movie that wasn't clichéd or predictable, but here we are.
Re: Sonic Superstars' Sales Were 'Slightly Weaker' Than Sega Had Anticipated
To be fair, the game itself was slightly weaker than I had anticipated, so it makes sense.
Re: Soapbox: TOTK's Ganondorf Is Great, But Zelda Needs To Do More With Its Villain
I thought he was a load of balls - extremely underwhelming and more like a generic anime antagonist, rather than, y'know, Ganondorf.
I'm sure folks may disagree, but... I don't know. I just felt the series deserved better.
