Re: Sony's PlayStation Vita Exclusive Freedom Wars Is Getting Remastered For Switch

Freedom Wars is a game that could have really done with the 'Plus' treatment that most Monster Hunter type games get. The setting and gameplay was great, but it felt a bit too lacking in content and enemy variety. I always hoped to see more of it, but gave up on that years ago. It certainly is a surprise to hear it's coming back.
Lots of people mentioning Soul Sacrifice Delta too, I notice. That I could never really get into. So many folk seemed to love it, but despite enjoying most games in the genre and giving it a more than fair try several times it just never struck a chord for me.

It wasn't a bad game, that I remember. Sitting out in the garden to play in the sun was fine too... except for the glare on the screen making it hard to actually see what you were doing, and I can only imagine how awkward it would have been to try and play it on an SP.
I still have both the cartridge and my SP, now I think of it, so I may actually give it a try out of morbid curiousity.

Re: Random: The 'Pokémon-With-Guns' Game On Steam Is Yet More Homework Copying

I didn't have much interest in the game, yet I grabbed it as something to pass a bit of time until Enshrouded on Wednesday. But it's surprisingly good. Despite catching creatures (which honestly I'm finding a lot cuter looking than most pokemon, even if many of them are clearly similar to this or that one), I'm seeing a lot more 'influence' from Ark and Breath of the Wild than Pokemon. "Pokemon with guns" really doesn't do it justice.
Regardless of what you could say the developers have ripped off from this and that, the game itself is enjoyable. There are things that could be improved, but it's still early access, so plenty of time for that. The important part is that it's fun.

Re: Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 Is Coming To Switch This October

I replayed these on my Vita a couple months back, so I'm in no rush to play them again anytime soon, but it's great that they'll be available for more people who never got the chance to experience the series.
I'd like to see a re-release of MGS4 instead, if anything. Seems like the only way to play that nowadays is PS3, after it got taken off of PS+.

I finished the story at around 85 hours, with apparently 53% map completion. I imagine that is mostly scouring the more out of the way places for chests, caves and 15 or so hearts worth of shrines.
I don't feel as inclined to do so as I did for Breath of the Wild though. Tears of the Kingdom certainly hasn't hooked me as much, and while I enjoyed it, it was starting to feel like a chore by the time I finished the main quests.
