I don't understand what is so difficult about this whole thing. Do any of you remember the Mario Tennis for GBA? Fantastic game. If you any of you have a gamecube and the attachment to play GBA games to throw it on your tv. Please do yourself a favor and pick up a copy.
It had strong RPG elements and a pretty fun yet simple story that always kept you playing a few extra minutes to level up a little more and eventually create a powerhouse of a tennis player. Mario Golf did this as well for GBA and you could send your story mode character to the Gamecube verison and tear up the golf course.
So give me that kind of game with beautiful graphics, an expanded roster, online play, and perhaps leaderboards for those amazing training minigames that you had to play to level up your character. Like why are they over thinking this? That GBA title is so old and easily still my favorite over all the console versions.
If you grab a pro controller, the switch version is fantastic. Yes the graphics are not quite there nor is the FPS but it is playable and I'm sure it will look better in time. If they manage to add 60 fps later (just like they did on other consoles btw) and you have a pro controller, then I think this will be just fine.
My only personal complaint is that as a PS4 and Switch owner, I had to set up a new account and pay for another battle pass since Sony locked their Epic accounts. I'm 23 with a full time job so a few extra bucks is not a big deal to me but I know younger kids will hate this. Honestly it's just the fact that Nintendo and Microsoft were able to play nice but Sony can't? It was a very pretentious move by them. They could have at least warned players they were going to do it.
ANYWAY, I'm glad to see the game on Switch. I grew up on Nintendo and Sony consoles and the Wii U made me worry big time about Nintendo's future. Now I just need a few more things and I'll be perfectly satisfied.
1. Mario Party without the car (I think the new one got rid of it)
2. Paper Mario but bring back the formula from the first 2 games
3. Gen 8 for Pokémon (2019! Woo!)
4. Waluigi in Smash
5. Mario golf, soccer, baseball, etc.
The switch is still pretty young so I'm sure there is more to come in terms of AAA titles that I know people are getting impatient for. Just remember the Wii U didn't go as planned so just be patient and enjoy what we have
@justin233 well that's a little silly. I love splatoon as well and I play with gyro aiming. And yes it's wonderful. But you can't limit yourself and say you'll only ever play that way. Take an hour or two, grab a buddy, and run some 50 v 50 or duos. It's loads of fun. You'll open yourself up to so many other shooters if you get used to using your thumbs the old way.
Like I said I love Splatoon as well and gyro aiming is by far my favorite, but I would have missed out on hours of fun if I gave up on Fortnite. I love playing with friends and it's fun to be versatile. Plus I find Fortnite is one of those games that's fun even if you're terrible lol. Give it another go man for real
@impurekind I have to SLIGHTLY disagree with you. Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness was simply a redone version of Pokémon Colosseum which sold very well. I'm NOT suggesting the formats of those games should be brought to the main series. There's a reason they remained spin-offs. But they were a wonderful version of pokemon that still kept all the elements of the main series with the exception of gym badges. Plus the story telling was much better in both.
I would personally love to see this new pokemon game with the gym badges, updated graphics, new move sets, and a better story. Then as usual, we need a proper sequel in the "battle sim series". Pokémon Staudium 1&2, Colosseum, Gale of Darkness, Battle Revolution, aaaaand idk Pokémon Arenas of Time or something epic sounding lol.

@kevin74 20 minutes? I never like a game 20 minutes in.

@MegaMari0 tell me you're joking...
