I remember always thinking that the NA cover was weird but, hey, it has stayed in my brain after all these years and at least does an ok job of getting the post apocalyptic feeling across. The EU cover just looks very low effort and cheap to me.
Lance's face looks very odd in the Japanese boxart and, overall, there is something about the chaos behind the characters and their facial expressions not lining up at all that bothers me.
NA is classic and fitting for a rerelease of a classic game. Europe's shade of gold color just feels off to me and it's too busy. Japan's is also too busy and, despite the different representations of Link being in the game itself (LTTP vs FS), I really don't like the clash of Link styles being on the same box. Also, I prefer the Z being over the shield/sword as opposed to the Triforce.
Despite living in the US, I had to hand it to the Super Famicom. Love how much of the cartridge that the art takes up, the curved design, and the ridges. The N64 cart is really nice too and easily carries the most nostalgia for me.
Really enjoyed this game as a kid and, while I like both box art designs, the Japanese design is just too busy for me. Eliminate that giant, unnecessary Kirby holding a parasol in the middle and I would've been sold.

Re: Charles Martinet Reveals His Favourite Super Mario Games At Nintendo Live 2024
Solid choices, of course. Super Mario 64, Super Mario Odyssey, and Super Mario Bros 3 would top my personal list.
