Nintendo won the last console war (speaking of selling the most consoles not getting third party games) and they completely dominate handheld console. Wii U has not even seen one of their main game released yet. I don't see them conceding anytime soon. And this guy is talking out of his rear.
@1ron_man No, Its not the whole point. Its one option, of many and not innovative at all. The whole point of the second screen is to add functionality. I prefer to use the touch screen for quick access to my bag like when I need a dung bomb for the Rathalos chewing my stomach.
Yeah, this is really old news. Over this already. It would have been a nice feature, but then again if you really need to play portable, just get the 3DS version.
Problem is that the best developers of third party title want to go multiplatform, so they will bypass special use of the tablet so they can reach the masses. That leaves only Nintendo and small projects that are directly targeting the WiiU audience which is tiny right now. No "BIG" Title will make real use of the Gamepad's features.
Yeah, I remember playing PS0 and ending on a team were the people only spoke Japanese... what fun that was, I could understand squat. seriously this truly is not a big deal at all. If anything it might help build i tight niche MH gaming community.
The fact that this is going multiplatform is a good thing. Companies need to make money after all. Hell, I wish more games did this so there be more parity in the console world. The reason they don't get my money is because this for me was a release game to get as a stopgap, till games I really want came out. Now its going to release with those games. So I found another stopgap game and this is no longer a must have for me. I might still get it, but from the walmart sales bin instead.
I wanted Rayman to hold me over till Monster hunter. Once monster hunter comes out a slew of Wii U games will begin to release. There is not reason for me to get this anymore.
@SCAR392 I think the anger is more on the fact that people (including myself) were readying up loot to purchase this in 2-3 weeks and just got mouth smack with a bogus release date. Yes their spite, but its more to do with the feeling that they put us on hold for their greed.
If the game was to be released in three weeks, the drives had to be burning disks by now to accommodate demand. The game is most likely complete and they are just not shipping in order to get a higher install base from 360/ps3 without the "PORT" sticker being tagged on .
@Buzzthebatgirl Because disk's scratch and get damaged especialy if you have children that might touch those disk, but digital media can last forever.
Also consider wear and tear on the rom-drive
I remember when my son scratched my disk 2 of Tales Of Symphonia and having to pony up another 30 bucks to rebuy.
Steam changed my mind about Download Purchases. There was a time I would say hell no to download, but the convenience of saying, I want Scribblenauts. Click click, download, done is awesome. Now I wish Ninty adopted another Model so my purchases were more permanent than they are now, like Steam, but heck, still convinient
Its all these websites like IGN, and Gamespot that come and shout, WOW it only has this and that and get all the people up in arms about this debate fuel by fanboys. "In the end it, it really doesn't matter" What matters is what game came out for the system.
@Lan That is not a fair comparison. Nintendo has always been king of the portables and the #DS was destines to win that fight. Yes its graphics are not like Vita, but on that small screen it is considered HD, and on top of that you have the #D feature and massive "3rd Party support" - that last key being what Wii did not have. what Wii U is starting to to lose and what, yes Vita does not have.
And Lan, I hope you are having this conversation in the peace knowing that I love Nintendo, and will support them in whatever they decide since the do make the best games.
@Lan Yes, and it is also the reason Nintendo is currently reporting loses and the Wii U is not selling like they wanted it too, Also the reason they were hush about the systems specs. It was a bad decision. The moment most consumers found out it was on par with the XBOX, they ran and bought an XBOX instead for half the price.
Best games that have come from them in the past few years to Nintendo have all been DS games, Theathrythm and Dragon Quest 9 were amazing, but dag everything else has been lame. I tried playing Last Remnant and was like...wow disappointment, I had super high hopes for Bearers of the Crystal, but it was horrible.
That is because they release for everything but the 2nd largest Gaming market Nintendo, the largest being PC.
A Final Fantasy or a GOOD Crystal Chronicles would have scored them billions, but they decided to release Graphical monsters instead that do not sell (or even appear in market like Versus)
It basically means that Nintendo once again skimped on its hardware and that we will not be getting 3rd party software targeted towards next gen and will miss out on a lot of current software that is CPU heavy.
And that we Nintendo fans are used to having a second rate product.
Everytime I play Blackops 2 I see that it is powerful enough. The graphics are beatiful. The only thing that is lacking is games. But those will start rolling in soon enough
The new price on Wii U games is high, At $60 dollars a game, there is no way I will buy a game because I might like it, I have to be convinced I will. This keeps my money in my bank. Drop the price of game to 39.99 and I will buy more games. Keep the price high and I will be extra selective. And truth being said, Nintendo has not released squat worth buying.
All they been putting on the Market is Mario games and are wondering why they are not selling systems. They have a huge disconnect with there fans, who want more than just Mario
I had abandoned Nintendo for Playstation when I first played this game at my brother in laws house. This game made me buy a Gamecube and love Zelda once again. Cant wait till I get this for the U
