@Reala Are you saying you bear a sacred revelation from the mighty Pachter!?
@turtlelink If you read my previous comments, you'll see that I not telling or expecting anyone to like the Wii U. I'm simply disagreeing with Molyneux's statement that Nintendo isn't coming out with anything amazing. I am not saying I am right, just stating my opinion.
@Drobotic Well played.
@MegaWatts That is a piece of information that I didn't know. I could see how that message popping up would be annoying. Perhaps that is something that can be disabled in the game options, similar to the interface for Skyward Sword.
I can't say anything about Molyneux or his record because I have never played one of the games listed. I respect his opinion, but I don't agree that there, "is nothing amazing coming out of Nintendo." In the innovation factor, the Wii U is taking the Wii and building on it. Some Wii U games will integrate Wii style motion controls and still take advantage of the innovative GamePad. We're not losing innovation. Not to mention the Wii U is breaking new ground in the area of a social gaming network and TVii.
Miiverse sounds like it has great potential. If it is used as a game journal, you could show your great grandkids the monumental day when you conquered HD Zelda or something. They will then stare at you and demand a turn with your ol' retro console.
@shinpichu You most certainly are not. I have played Super Paper Mario I liked it a lot. It had a unique feel to it and the gameplay was fun. Though I would have to say that TTYD is my favorite of the series.
@WesCash I have the same predicament. I'm not sure how many of my friends are getting a Wii U or not. Even if they don't get one, I'll still enjoy the paint off of this thing!
I voted for Mario. He is charismatic and requires few words to make his point. Not to mention he's a plumber so he knows how the working man feels. Plus, Luigi would make a good VP.
@Peppy_Hare I am in awe of your willpower. D: I might try out one of the Wii U kiosks if I find one nearby. I already have my Deluxe Bundle pre-ordered so it's not a big deal for me.
I think backwards compatibility is an excellent thing. While I will still be keeping my Wii, it's a good inclusion for those who won't keep theirs or never had one. The Wii had plenty of good games, so backwards compatibilty will be great for those who missed out.
This was an interesting read. It provided information on an interesting retro system that I hardly knew existed. When hearing about that time in the console wars, typically all I hear about are Nintendo and SEGA. @The_Other_M "It just doesn't compare."
The slogan is good. I thought it could have benefited from some explanation of its features and a list of launch titles at the end. They could also cover all the bases and explain that the Wii U is a separate console than the Wii for any uninformed person who doesn't know.
Can't say that there's anything that appeals to me here. I'm okay with that though because I've got other stuff to do, and the Wii U is out in a little over 2 weeks! (Squeee!)
@TruenoGT Metroid Prime 2 would have been great for this list! Not to mention the wrecked ship or pirate research facility on Ellysea in MP3 Corruption. Those mutants behind the glass in the elevator are freaky.
The post-Core portion of Cave Story is rather chilling. @The_Other_M I agree that the Old Chateau is a creepy place. Especially that painting with glowing red eyes that blink. I also found that part of the Glitz Pit chapter in PMTYD had an ominous and creepy feel to it. @undead_terror Those would have made nice additions.
That sounds like a reasonable strategy. I'm going to have my hands full with my launch titles and the system itself, so waiting for the some of the later titles won't be bad.
I haven't been on Nintendo Life long, but it has not given me a reason to believe it is being "bought." The same goes for the now ending magazine, Nintendo Power.
Here's what I got from this. Nintendo has made a "gaming device" called the 3DS. Agreed? Because it is a "gaming device," some people will assume that it is primarily for gamers only. In this case, a gamer is someone who has the hobby of playing video games. I believe that these commercials are trying to inform those who would not typically buy a "gaming device" to play video games that they can find something fun to do with it. That is what I got from it. It may not be what Nintendo's going for, but that is what it seems like to me.
As the old saying goes, "All good things must come to an end." I have truly enjoyed my Wii, and it will always have a special place as my first home console. Thankfully, it's legacy will still live on through the Wii U.
That was a powerful and well-made short film. It's sad to see a movie like that, and worse when you know it occurs in real life. Twilight Princess was an excellent choice for an escape.

I am willing to see the tablets and smartphones as allies. I've got nothing against them, I just don't have one.

Can't tell much, but it looks fine. Now that I think about it, shopping will be better than ever with Mario and Luigi!
Re: Wii U Browser to Use Multiple GamePad Control Options

Thanks for the video sample. That was great!
Re: Review: Spot It! Mean Machines (DSiWare)
Good review. I've seen this type of challenge in the books. My younger siblings really enjoy them, and they can be quite competitive when searching.
Re: Zelda: Twilight Symphony Soundtrack Available For Pre-Order
That would be excellent to have if I could afford it. The music in Twilight Princess is amazing! Not to mention that boxart is gorgeous.

Not a chance! None of that appeals to me, and I already have a Wii U pre-ordered. I'm sorry Microsoft, but Nintendo is how I role.

Would it count if I ate my raw pumpkin in an old mansion's cellar instead? The dungeon in the castle nearby is being rented out. LAVENDER TOWN!!!!!!

Re: Pachter Pours Scorn Over Wii U Sales Projections
Pachter is entitled to his opinion (right or wrong), but I don't see why a professional analyst is using the term "fan boys."
Re: Nintendo Confirms Wii U Will Be Sold At A Loss
That has got to be a hit in the wallet to sell it for at a loss. But $350 isn't that bad of a price, which is why I'm still getting it.
Re: Feature: Nintendo Life's Top 20 Wii Games
The list looks pretty good. I am surprised that Twilght Princess beat Skyward Sword though.
