Re: Soapbox: It's A Tragedy That Rare Replay Isn't On A Nintendo Console

Icefreak45

@ottospooky I completely agree with you, there was no point in saying a gamer doesn't deserve a collection of premium games simply because of their console of choice.

I personally recently purchased an Xbox One just so I can play this collection (mostly Viva Pinata, I am obsessed with it) and can't wait to play it tomorrow.

Re: Site News: How was 2013 for Nintendo Life?

Icefreak45

Thank you for making this site, keeping me up to date with the Company that will always have my heart. You guys are great and truly deserve all the attention you've gotten this year. Heres to an even better year in 2014 :3

Wow, um, I'm pleasantly surprised ! I really enjoyed the first one, didnt pick up the second one, but if this one is good I'll pick it up. Honestly I thought Nintendo would leave this series behind once it transitioned to the 3ds. (I'm really happy about this XD.)

Re: Soapbox: Why Grand Theft Auto V Isn't For Me

Icefreak45

I personally am not picking up the game, I couldn't legally buy it if I wanted to anyways XD, but that doesn't mean I think the game is bad or that the people who made it shouldn't get credit for what they have created. They have created a HUGE open world experience for people to play in. Yes the story line, strip clubs, and violence are extreme and will leave a bad taste in some people's mouth. I get it. However, the point is not for you to relish and enjoy these experiences. The game is, if you do a little research, a critic on the American experience and obviously it does a good job at it. Do I want it? No, but don't put down the people who worked tirelessly to develop it and give it to the masses who do want to play it.
All that aside LoZ: Wind Waker does indeed look amazing :3

@unrandomsam Recettear came to mind immediately after hearing the description. If it's anything like that I'll be fine as I absolutely love that game (even if I can never pay the rent Q_Q).

Re: Soapbox: When It Comes To Software Support, The Grass Isn't Always Greener

Icefreak45

Really didn't like this soapbox. I feel like this was just bashing Microsoft and Sony for what they do to boost up Nintendo. Yes a lot of games nowadays are full of blood and gore, shooters with pretty graphics but that's not all. Ni No Kuni on the PS3 looked like an amazing JRPG, but did I play it? No because it was a Sony exclusive. Nintendo doesn't offer this experience so you can't say they're the only ones who can create something magical.

Going to third-party tittles I had a blast with a bunch of third party games that did NOT come to Wii. Mass Effect, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Borderlands, dishonored, Bioshock, etc. Yes all of these are gory but not for the sake of being gory, Bioshock tells an amazing story and is one of the greatest games of this generation. Third party tittles are highly important and are required for consoles.

You can't really say nothing innovative is coming from next-gen consoles seeing as they're not even out yet and are being slowly unveiled. Sony has confirmed already 30 exclusives coming to PS4 in it's first year and 12 of them being new IPs. So add in third party support and there's no foreseeable drought as severe as the Wii U has suffered.

Last point: "Infamous: Second Son looks pretty, but was the world really crying out for a sequel?" Was anyone asking for a DK sequel? Or that Mario 3D World? No doubt these will be fun experiences but nothing new.
I'm a huge Nintendo supporter and will be picking up a Wii U next year and opting for a PS4 this Christmas, please don't knock others just to make Nintendo seem in a better place than it is and lets all just enjoy playing games ^^.

Re: Pachter: Nintendo Has Lost Its "Mojo"

Icefreak45

He's not saying anything wrong here, almost all he says is pretty much true. Nintendo is definitely not at the heights it just a couple years ago and this generation a box that only plays Nintendo games isn't going to cut it. With the PS4 being only $50 higher that hurts the Wii U even more. Do I think Nintendo has lost it's mojo? Not exactly, Nintendo still makes some of the most fun games to play. What Nintendo needs to do is simple, better marketing, price cut and more games (which are on the way). At this point in time, no, I don't really see the reason to own a Wii U, next year though I see myself purchasing one for sure!
