Re: Poll: Pokémon Sword And Shield Launched A Year Ago, Has Your Opinion On Them Changed?

Hylian_Greaves

Llifelong pokemon fan and I thought shield was an okay Pokemon title, but I too was gutted at Dexit haha, the wild area/DLCs 'move the camera' effect was sold as a gimmick when games have been allowing players that freedom for decades... I think the next game cycle needs to be almost 100 percent this camera style or they're going to piss a lot more people off. I tend to imagine a pokemon breath of the wild style game where you can freely decide how to approach your quest, climb mountains for my geodudes, go underground for my fossil pokemon etc that's not just to take a few photos of them though haha

I agree that they do need to do better, gamers are smarter now than back in the game boy era and just because this formula sold billions in the late 90s doesn't mean it will continue to do forever. it does have a loyal fan base that will buy anything with a pokemon logo on it, but once I got to the end of crown tundra, i'd seen more than enough of the "big pokemon go boom" mechanic.

there's so much potential for this series, but i guess GF look at astronomical sales and are like...why fix what isn't broken.

Re: The First Review For Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Is Now In

@aSmilingMan Hey thank you for replying buddy! I do understand what the other commenters mean about this genre haha, and even on very hard mode you'll get the odd doofus group of lizalfos just waiting about to be battered, but when you do get around to them they take a lot of punishment before getting KO'd, they're also attacking you relentlessly at this stage too so can be really tricky. If I learned anything from the first HW is that ordering your other characters to defend different areas is crucial on very hard. Though i'd imagine on easy you can just tap X until the credits roll haha!

Cheers again for the reply, have a good day!

I put a good three hours into the demo, namely because I played it on very hard mode from the off. I made this choice so that when the inevitable ending rolls around my struggles will be that much more painful :')

What I wasn't expecting was just how hard it actually is, I was a fan of the first hyrule warriors so had some experience with some of the moves that have been brought over into this game, still got my ass kicked over and over again. Honestly I loved it and can't wait to play as the gal Mipha.

Swear there's more story in this demo than there is in all of breath of the wild too? At least many more questions to be answered lol

Re: Psyonix Studio Lead Discusses the Porting Process of Rocket League

Hylian_Greaves

As a seasoned PS4 rocket league "Master" ( that's the game saying that, not me ) I am so very excited for the Switch version, no problems whatsoever paying for it a second time to have it on the move. A deep shame that Sony are being so pathetic when it comes to cross platform & now a rival Japanese company is involved with such a great game, I see no budging on this issue either which really bums me out. Still stoked for the unique Nintendo car customs regardless

Re: Yooka-Laylee Could Be Much Improved By The Time The Switch Version Arrives

Hylian_Greaves

Hey guys just joined Nintendo Life after noticing users actually making great points either way and backing up their opinions with intelligent responses, rare to find online these days, Good work all round!

I backed Yooka-Laylee the moment I heard about it as I was a huge fan of literally all of Rareware's earlier titles even since the SNES and wanted to secure my copy right away. DKC, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo Kazooie/Tooie. These games were simply momentous to me growing up and I was more than happy to support Playtonic as an adult any way I could.

Humbly, I gave my friend £20 toward Yooka-Laylee just because I wanted him to play it while I waited for my Switch version to arrive, this way everybody wins and Playtonic can bash out a Donkey Kong open world or even a Perfect Dark remake with Nintendo haha! I'd pay for that twice too!
