My only singular issue with VR is that I can't afford it right now. When I can, that will probably be close to a time when Nintendo is ready for VR as well.
I don't get it. Are customers supposed to say, "It's ok if you fail, we'll be here for you when you sort this mess out."?
I don't think the consumer market works that way. I don't think their customers are sitting around waiting for them to get their act together. Many of them have already moved on and many of those who have stuck around continue to lose confidence in Nintendo.
All Nintendo has to do is find a way to get Minecraft on both 3DS and Wii U and all their troubles will fade away. I'm half-joking, but you know it would help.
Now if only there were settings that allowed parents and other adults to engage in deeper and more engaging social activities, like voice chat, instant messaging and sending/receiving friend requests. I love Nintendo, but I can't help but feel completely alienated at the same time.
I never expected it to come out then, but it's nice to have some more clarification. Still, it doesn't entirely sound like they ruled out Spring. They just don't have anything else to say about it right now, which is typical safe PR. Still, I don't expect it in Spring. Maybe Summer. Maybe Fall. Who knows.
I'm not disappointed. I'm actually really happy for them and all of us that they met the stretch goals which will give us more content to play with. Had they not met those goals, we'd probably have the game by now, but with less content. Waiting sucks, but I'm sure it'll be worth it.
This line right here pretty much cements Nintendo's legacy this generation. For everything we hope for them to do, maybe, just maybe something will be done about it in the future.
How could Nintendo be so incredibly naive all along to think that there wouldn't be a few bad apples who would share potentially offensive material through their services? It's like they didn't think it through at all before releasing these apps.
No more Swapnote for me, I guess. Between this and the complete disappearance of Flipnote, the Youtube app and every other empty promise made by Nintendo, it's no wonder they're falling by the wayside as the next generation of gaming approaches.
Adding to this unfortunate trend, is publishers releasing trailers without ANY 3DS game play footage whatsoever. I scoured the internet for a good length of time just trying to find video of this particular game, even days after release and STILL couldn't find anything. It's like they just don't want you to know how bad of a rip off these games really are. Various big publishers have absolutely proven without a doubt that they have no real interest or passion in making a quality product for the 3DS and that really bums me out.
The Wii U is toast. There are zero Nintendo published titles for the system that I want or am looking forward to, so I have no reason to ever purchase one. It's going to take more than a few games to get me interested anyways and with the 3DS struggling as it is to maintain 3rd party support, I can't see myself investing in anything new other than a new PC and an Oculus Rift, aka the REAL next gen.
We already know Minecraft would work well on a 3DS, because there's a homebrew version of it on the DS and it works like a charm. Seriously, Nintendo. Make this happen. Make SOMETHING happen.
I remember having a really hard time with the controls in this game and wanting to love it, but being unable to play it without struggling the whole time. Really cool game though and the soundtrack was ace. In fact, I really wish we could get a 3DS version, not like that will ever happen though.
I'm not really big on chess, but I really like this idea and might buy it anyways to show my support. I like the idea of not having to play a whole game in one sitting.
He works damn hard and when the day comes and he decides he's done making games, we'll all notice his absence.
Kid Icarus: Uprising is currently my most played 3DS game by far and I have a feeling that the new Smash Bros. is set to take a spot in the top 3 as well.
That being said, without Sakurai making Nintendo games, I don't think I'd appreciate owning a 3DS anywhere near as much as I do now. He's the difference.
I just want to hear Reggie or Iwata say that "Flipnote Studio 3D is now available for download in the Nintendo 3DS eShop" and I will be satisfied. The wait is killing me.
Eh. I'd maybe consider it at $10-20, but I'm not gonna hold my breath for another price drop. I'd be all over it if it had been a full 3D game. I'm just not that interested in lower budgeted 2.5D games in general. The 3DS is being bombarded with them and I'm tired of it. Where are the big budget 3D games?
Mario Golf was supposed to get me through the summer drought that I've been experiencing. A lot of other 3DS games just aren't for me, but that was the one I was looking forward to most all summer.
Well, Nintendo has yet to announce a title that I absolutely have to have. Until then, I don't have any desire to buy a Wii U. Their safe approach this time around isn't lighting the world on fire. If Super Mario 3D Land is as good as it gets for the next year, then they've really got their work cut out for them if they want my money.
@Philip_J_Reed In all my years as a gamer, I don't recall hearing open world missions being described as "levels" before, so I guess that throws me off. I've always associated that particular phrasing with strictly linear gameplay. But at your behest, I will not lose hope just yet! (edit: spelling)
@Zach777 You stole the words right out of my mouth. As soon as I saw the words "15 levels" I knew it wasn't going to be open world and I lost all interest. Give me another Lego City on 3DS, because those other Lego games don't cut it. Not to mention the title and premise screams "generic!"
I've got about 30+ hours invested in this game already, mostly playing with the level editor, creating some pretty challenging tracks like the kind that have you raging in Trials HD. I guess you could say I'm fairly hooked on this game at the moment.
What's worse is that the demo actually freezes in certain parts of the tracks and in the same places every time. The whole thing is a disaster. Such a shame, because I really wanted this game. I think it looks gorgeous and the 3D effect is fantastic, but the framerate and freezing is completely unacceptable. If they're able to patch it, then I will consider getting it, but no way I'm getting this game in its current state.
I really wish there were like, at least 10 more western developers like Jools out there who are just as dedicated to making 3DS games. I really appreciate his enthusiasm for the platform, but it's a constant reminder of how little attention the 3DS gets from developers. You'd think the eShop would be a goldmine for them, especially if they're self-published, which as it sounds seems to be easy enough to do these days.
I appreciate the review. I was waiting on this game for some time and am sad to see it didn't turn out so well. I was worried about it because the release date kept getting moved, so this confirms my fears. Ah well. The concept is still fantastic and I wish it could have been pulled off well. I really want more FPS type games in general on the 3DS. We need more big budget games.

This game needs 3 things. Faster mechs. Larger arenas. Lighter ball.

Re: Poll: Nintendo and the Wii U Fight For Your Attention in This Busiest of Gaming Months
They'll do fine, just not as well as they've projected. I think they slightly overestimate people's interest in buying a Wii U just for Mario.

Nope, not available in NA yet.
Re: Nintendo Download: 28th November (North America)
