RUSH

It's Nintendo Download day, North America, and your collection of download treats for the week has been revealed. This week brings a mix of the old and new on both Wii U and 3DS, while DSiWare also makes an appearance. There's certainly decent variety on offer, so check out the details below.

Wii U eShop

RUSH (Two Tribes, $1.99) — The final part of the Two Tribes Classics trilogy, the first iteration of this title arrived on WiiWare in 2009 as Rubik's Puzzle Galaxy: RUSH, though this Wii U version will be based on the subsequent PC / Mac title. We'll have a review for you soon to let you know whether this rounds off the excellent classics series in style.

Wii U Virtual Console

Double Dragon (Arc System Works, $4.99) — A fondly regarded 8-bit beat-em-up, this is likely to get quite a few purchases based on memories alone. It's now on Wii U, but you can check out our Wii Virtual Console Double Dragon review.

3DS eShop

3D Ecco the Dolphin (Sega, $5.99) — This series of 3D Sega titles continues with one of the most iconic Genesis / Mega Drive titles; at the time this exploration adventure in which you play the named dolphin was a fairly unique experience. It certainly has the potential to be an appealing 3DS download, so we'll dive in for our review; this entry is priced less than the other 3D Sega titles in Europe, so we're waiting for confirmation on the North American rate.

3D Galaxy Force II (Sega, $5.99) — Originally an arcade shooter that transitioned to home consoles, this is an on-rails space shooter with a viewpoint behind your spaceship; it was based on similar technology to Space Harrier. We'll start shooting stuff, and then shooting more stuff, to bring you our review.

Jump Trials Supreme (G-Style, $3.99) — This series forces you to complete stages in just 10 seconds and was relatively popular in its previous DSiWare iterations. It makes its début on the 3DS with new moves and features such as online leaderboards, SpotPass and StreetPass functionality. We'll summon our inner platforming ninja and bring you a review soon.

Life With Horses 3D (Treva Entertainment, $29.99) — Well well, it's another animal sim on the 3DS eShop. As the title makes clear this one is all about breeding and looking after horses, which includes StreetPass functionality and motion controls for riding horses. We'll give a yay or neigh on this soon.

My Style Studio: Hair Salon (Cypronia, $4.99) — This download's title is fairly self explanatory, serving up virtual hair styling with various tools and accessories. We'll dig out some scissors and see whether this makes the cut.

3DS Virtual Console

Double Dragon (Arc System Works, $4.99) — The same as on the Wii U Virtual Console but, erm, on 3DS.

3DS eShop Demo

Nano Assault EX (Shin'en Multimedia, Free)

AeternoBlade (Corecell Technology, Free)

3DS eShop Permanent Discount

Nano Assault EX (Shin'en Multimedia, $9.99, was $14.99)

DSiWare

Orion's Odyssey (Enjoy Gaming, 500 Nintendo Points) — Originally funded on Kickstarter, this is "a comedy-puzzle game" and spiritual successor to Hands On! Tangrams. We'll see how it shapes up in our review.
