Re: Sony: Wii U Offering "Something That Vita and PS3 can do Quite Easily"

GTWarrior77

Nintendo customers can enjoy the full experience right out the box. Not all sony gamers will be able to benefit from their ps3 Vita combo and so some gamers will be left out. Nintendo gamers wil not have that problem.
In this day and age value for money is a strong driving force and if you throw Nintendo's excellent games into the mix, you've got a winner.

Re: New Super Mario Bros. 2 Will Cost £39.99 to Download

GTWarrior77

Let me see if I can get this right Nintendo. With the download version there is no:
1. physical manufacturing ((cartridge + box)
2. No physical distribution to retailers
3. No profit mark up from retailers.

Yet we have to pay more for the download version. Because of this people will perceive this to be a rip-off. This is bad business. I think Nintendo is charging so much because they can. Surely they can charge less without shooting retailers in the foot. Even if it is just a little bit. Nintendo needs a financial boost but ripping people off is not the way to go. People want to know they are getting value for their money.
No matter how many millions they spend to make the game, the download version needs to be cheaper than the retail version.

And the best part is that the customer can never sell his/her downloaded game should they need to.

From a business point of view, it is unacceptable.

Re: Bigger Nintendo 3DS Console Revealed

GTWarrior77

What I like about the new console is that it seems to be not as shiny as the current model. I wonder what the screen resolution will be like?

I don't understand why Nintendo haven't added a 2nd circle pad now. Naturally Nintendo has to make their money with this first before they release a dual analog model which is probably already designed. As someone stated earlier, I find the timing of the release of this 3DS interesting. Why do this a few months before the Wii U is released? For this reason I stand to believe that we will see a dual analog version in late 2013.

Personally I couldn't be bothered to buy this. I like my portable devices, well, to be portable. My current 3DS is the perfect size for what I need it to be.

Re: New Super Mario Bros. 2 Art Brings Back Old Favourites

GTWarrior77

As a Mario fan I'm not too excited about this. Not too excited about this.
I want something more out of the box. It feels to much like beeb there done that.
Somenone mentioned earlier that Wario should be the main villian.
If peach gets captured once more, I'm going to lock her up myself.

I"ll probably pick this up eventually. I'll first get through my backlog

Re: E3 2012: Every 3DS Game Announced So Far

GTWarrior77

I'll probably get the following:
NSMB 2
Paper Mario
Epic Mickey

NightSky
Cave Story+

With some of the games (like lego batman 2 and lego city), I'll rather go the home console route. Rayman origins just looks so much better on a big hd screen compared to the 3DS demo.

Re: Feature: Super Mario on Wii U - Crowd Pleaser or Game Changer?

GTWarrior77

We need something totally new when it comes to Mario games. Lately Mario games have lost their originality with a lot of them being a rehash of old games.

Mario Galaxy was a fresh new twist on the series but if they bring out a 3rd Galaxy game I am very tempted to say that I will not be interested. Even
releasing a second Galaxy was pushing it imo. Also, I hope NSMB Mii is
is more original than just being able to play as your Mii in HD.

I understand that Nintendo is a business but lately it seems that when their accountants were let loose, they had more influence than the game designers. They have been playing it way too safe.

Some exploration would also be welcome. Even in 2D Mario games.

I am a big Mario fan but imo Nintendo needs to give us something we haven't seen before. I vote for a game changer.

Re: Review: Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 (Game Boy)

GTWarrior77

Like others have mentioned here already, Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 is much better than Super Mario Land 2. It's my first outing with this game and I can't put it down. The music, the gameplay, the graphics, are all excellent. One of my favorite downloads so far.

Re: Flare Red 3DS Reaches North America on 9th September

GTWarrior77

I haven't bought a 3ds yet and standing on the verge of doing so. The red one is very tempting but I am still leaning towards the Aqua Blue.

Good move from Nintendo to boost sales. They'll probably announce a red 3ds bundle with Mario 3d land or Mario Kart closer to Christmas.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Makes Bold Move with the 3DS

GTWarrior77

@TeeJay: I live in South Africa and here you will pay $400 for the 3ds console and also $70 per game.

I estimate our price to come down to about $300 after the price drop. You guys in the USA have it good over there.
I can see this Holiday being an expensive one for me as far as my gaming goes. Still need to purchase a 3DS though but I am waiting for the price cut before doing so.

Re: 3DS Mario Titles Land in November and December

GTWarrior77

Mario Kart 3DS makes more sense to me. Since there is usually only 1 Mario Kart per console generation I think it is totally acceptable. Attaching the title to the console name also makes it easier to differentiate between different versions of the game.

In regard to Super Mario 3d Land, it just doesn't sound right to me.

But Nintendo, if you release 2 great games here, I might just forget about the funny sounding titles.

Re: Talking Point: Wii U - Revolution or Evolution?

GTWarrior77

In my opinion, the Wii U is more of an evolution than a revoIution. It looks to me like Nintendo just took what is already working and improved on it. That's fine by me.

Will the Wii U enjoy the the same sales success the Wii did? I.am not so sure. With the Wii, Nintendo created their "own" market by turning non gamers (parents and grandparents with money) into gamers with their casual approach. I don't see casual gamers rushing out to buy the latest and greatest gaming console with hd graphics and a tablet because of the very fact that they are casual gamers.

The Wii U will definitely attract more "hardcore" gamers but I doubt that it will fill the void left by casual gamers not upgrading, in regard to sales. I hope I am wrong about this.

The Wii U is a day one purchase for me though.

Re: This is the Wii U Controller in All Its Glory

GTWarrior77

The new controller looks great. I like the idea of playing games on the device itself without using your tv.
Does anyone know if there is an input for headphones? Didn't see any on the videos. It will not make sense for it not to have one.

Re: Review: Disney Epic Mickey (Wii)

GTWarrior77

It a pity about the camera issues. These types of issues are usually deal breakers for me. This was second on my to buy list, right after DKCR, but it has moved from a must buy to a maybe. Maybe I'll change my mind once I've rented Mickey, but for some reason I doubt it. Might just pick up Goldeneye or Sonic instead of this. Great review by the way.
