The last time we ran this feature, hype and excitement about the London 2012 Olympics was reaching fever pitch. Now that the Games are finishing for another four years, we've got over how much fun it is to watch athletes do everything we can't and got back to some serious gaming.
It's another giddy mix of titles being fired up on various consoles and handhelds this time, even if a few misguided souls are getting a fix from a system that doesn't have Nintendo branding. Nevertheless, let's get this show on the road.
Tom Whitehead
Successfully Learning English: Year 3 — When it comes to edutainment and Freddy the Vampire, I just can't get enough.
Metroid Fusion — I got a copy of this as a 3DS Ambassador, tried to beat it, got frustrated by one particularly tricky section and flounced off in a bad mood. A number of months have passed so I feel too out of touch with my original save, so if I have any spare time I'll restart and, hopefully, keep the save going until I see the end credits.
Mike Mason
Civilization V (PC) — I've not played a Civilization game in years, but I've got hooked on this in the last few days. I expect I'll be spending some time conquering the world this weekend.
Pokémon Conquest (DS) — And there'll be some slightly less serious conquering with the aid of Eevee and company.
Sound Shapes (Vita) — My most anticipated Vita game is finally out! I can't wait to get making music on this.
Jon Wahlgren
It's going to be a mostly clean-up weekend as I try to pack for a cross-country move with the fiance.
Super Mario 3D Land — Gotta get those five stars on my save file!
Saints Row: The Third — I finished this a while ago and felt compelled to return to Steelport and take it over completely. I'm well on my way towards getting my first Platinum trophy too, which is mad exciting.
Star Fox 64 3D — Because, why not.
Corbie Dillard
New Super Mario Bros. 2 — This one is easily one of my most anticipated games of the year and I'm lucky enough to have an advance copy, so it's pretty much a no-brainer that I'll be squeezing as much time into this game as I can muster this weekend. Maybe it will hold me over until Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon hits!
Sound Shapes (Vita) - This is one I've been looking forward to since I first read about it last year. Got a short crack at it back at E3, but it only left me wanting more. I'm planning on spending Sunday evening with this baby.
Desiree Turner
After taking part in a Mario round-table (coming this weekend) I'm in the mood for a Mario marathon of some sort. I think I'll pound my way through Super Mario Bros. 3 or Super Mario World (haven't yet decided, maybe both) and then go back to one of my half-finished Super Mario RPG files.
Katy Ellis
Heavy Rain — This weekend will be all about saving young Shaun from the infamous Origami Killer. If you like games with amazing facial detail and plenty of devilishly tricky QTEs then this will be right up your street.
Pullbox (Pushmo) — Okay, I admit I'm quite late to the Pullbox party, but only 22 puzzles in I'm irrevocably gripped (read: stuck).
Philip J Reed
I'll be rekindling my Advance Romance, as I'm currently replaying Metroid Fusion, and will finally try to put a dent in Wario Land 4 as well, which I never got around to playing properly. Fusion is easily one of my favourite Metroid games, so it's always great to revisit, and if Wario Land 4 is half as fun as Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 — which I adored — I'll have a great weekend ahead of me.
Christopher Ingram
I’m headed out of town to play in a disc golf tournament this weekend, but it won’t stop me from getting my game on one bit. I’ll be taking Rhythm Thief & the Emperor's Treasure and Sound Shapes (Vita) along with me. While winning the tournament isn’t a guarantee, catchy tunes blaring through headphones into this gamer’s ears definitely is.
Ron DelVillano
Because I'm still in the process of moving (which seems to be the popular trend around NL these days), all of my consoles are packed safely and securely away.
This means that I'll probably end up just playing Left 4 Dead on my computer. Or I'll read a book.
Joe Walker
Pokémon White — Still at it!
Mighty Switch Force! — I finally downloaded this and it's a total blast! It's super tough though, and often leaves me feeling dumb when the puzzles have me stumped!
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune — Despite being a PlayStation 3 owner for quite some time I've never given this a go. I'm enjoying it for sure; the combat is pretty terrible but the game is just so gorgeous I don't care!
Gaz Plant
Race Driver: GRID (PC) - After this week's announcement that my favourite racing game of all time is getting a much deserved sequel, I felt it was time to revisit this classic racing game. I'm pleased to report that it's still as good as ever.
FIFA 12 (PC) - After almost a year with the game, I'm starting to get the hang of the new tactical defending. That doesn't mean I'm a fan though...
Morgan Sleeper
I'm back home with my consoles for the first time in over a year, so I'm looking forward to some big-screen gaming this weekend: Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Rayman Origins for a start, and Kirby's Return to Dreamland co-op! I can't stay away from my trusty 3DS for too long though - I'm making it my mission to 'A' the last 4 scenes in Rhythm Thief & the Emperor's Treasure and unlock the final chapter!
That's our weekend gaming plans wrapped up in a nice bow, but what games will you be playing?

SSFIV3D, Beat The Beat and possibly Psychonauts
This weekend I'm playing University Assignment.
And sneaking in some Kid Icarus: Uprising.
Disgaea 3 and Sound Shapes. Maybe Super Mario Land 2.
Guys; Let's ask TBD to record her marathon whilst (because why not? I ran out of words) doing Ask TBD.
Hmm...won't have much time but there are a few I am throwing around up in the air...can't decide as of yet what to play when i get the chance... maybe ;
-Gears of War 3 (I wish people online weren't so hardcore though)
-Zelda : Skyward Sword (need to finish my second playthrough)
-New Super Mario Bros Wii (I think it's the want to play the 3DS one that isn't out yet)
-Mario Sports Mix (not sure where this came from but for some reason I may play around on it again)
-Wario Land
-Kid Icarus Myths and Monsters
-Pikmin 2 NPC (really need to finish this...stupid, stupid caves of death...)
So that's my options that I can think of anyway...now if I could only download the SNES Sim City for my Wii VC....
I'm going with:
(PSP)
(NDS)
(3DS)
Persona 4 Arena and maybe Street Fighter X Tekken.
@Joshers744 Sounds like you've got your hands full there already without SimCity.

Skyward Sword, Sword of Hope II, Art of balance Touch, and gettig the last few gold crowns in Super Scribblenauts.
Finally started to play Oot3D after forgetting about it for a year.
I don't really know what else to play over the weekend.

Kingdom Hearts 3D - Dream Drop Distance: Starting a Proud Mode-game
Theatrhythm - Final Fantasy: Addicting enough to play at least an hour every day
Pokémon HeartGold: Really want to finish it again and start with the Battle Frontier
I need to grind in Kingdom Hearts 3D for the final boss on both characters (or at least what I believe is the final boss, no spoilers please), which is quite a bore. But I like the game, and I hope to manage to finish at least one character this weekend. Might try finishing up Pullbox as well. I'm at the very last levels.
@JonWahlgren Ha. Well don't worry. I'm probably not going to have much time to actually play much of anything this weekend anyway. Just can't decide what to go with in that little bit of time I do have..
(Xbox 360) - Final Fantasy XI
(3DS) - Kingdom Hearts 3D
Heroes Of Ruin
(Wii) - Castlevania Judgement
Blaster Master (never finished the game, but want to)

Kingdom Hearts
Jak and Daxter
And whatever mystery game Im getting for my birthday o-o
Some SpeedX 3D, Toki Tori and maybe some Super Street Fighter IV 3D amongst other titles...
Rhythm Thief: I got this a couple days before vacation, and while on vacation my adapter didn't work with Europeon outlets (yes I used converters, it still didn't work) A plan to beat the game by Monday
Streetpass Puzzle: This isn't exactly a game. But what I'm saying is that I plan to Streetpass more this weekend in order to beat the Kirby puzzle, and the newly released, Mario puzzle.
Still working on Kid Icarus, Nostalgia for DS, started Onechanbara Bikini Zombie Slayers for Wii and going through a season of madden 12 on PS3.
Should keep me plenty busy.
For me Kingdom Hearts 3D i need to finish that last world its so difficult
Also Sword of hope II and Kid Icarus of Myths and Monsters because i got those with a points card recently but have been spending to much time on Dream Drop Distance to play them
I also might play Pushmo and Dillons Rolling Western because i haven't finished either and people persuaded me to play them on this website
Hope i have enough time to do all of this.
I am super jealous of you guys who have Sound Shapes; game looks phenomenal. Please enjoy it for me, though!
This weekend, I'll be playing Kingdom Hearts 3D and Super Mario Sunshine!
Im gonna be playing star fox 64 3d (lol me and Jon gonna be playing it, started playing it again last night), family tennis 3d, and a few other games that I don't know yet that im gonna play.
DK Country(SNES)- i haven't played it in a long time, and it's time for me to fill up DK's banana hoard!
and i'm finally getting a TV this weekend hopefully! imma use it to go with my SNES system so that i won't have to use my crappy Portable SNES.
Trying to beat Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time (NDS) & after that a choice between TrackMania Nations Forever (PC), Rogue Galaxy (PS2) or trying to read through my backlog of Game Informer magazines
(PlayStation 3)
Lord of the Rings: War in the North (will be my first platinum trophy!), Borderlands, Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, Uncharted 2.
(Wii)
Xenoblade Chronicles (this game lasts FOREVER), Super Paper Mario, maybe some Zelda: Skyward Swords.
(3DS/DS)
PokeMon SoulSilver, New Super Mario Bros (don't have money this month for the new one )
Either Kingdom Hearts 3D or some DS game...most likely Spirit Tracks, since I started a new game again for some reason, lol.
im gonna beat the final boss in Tales of the Abyss 3ds. And play Zelda Four Sword aniversary edition with my friend.
@undead_terror STAR FOX WOOO! I've been out of it for a few months and am eager to get back in.
This weekend? Okami, Sword of Hope 2 and Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones.
@JonWahlgren same here, got to the secret andross last night and it was a really hard time, I could beat him in no time in the original but hes alot harder in the remake. Also wish they update the game so we all could play death match online.
It's interesting seeing the number of people on here who are playing through Xenoblade. I need to get back to my copy as well--didn't make it very far.
As for this weekend, I'll probably be playing:
We're having friends over, though, so I may not actually have much time. We may end up playing some multiplayer stuff, though. Here's what we usually play when they're over:
Wario Land: The Shake Dimension and Pullblox.
SML3: Wario Land and Pokemon Conquest.
Mortal Kombat 9- Vita
Might watch the MLG fighting tournament his weekend.
Waiting for 3DS XL to come out so I can get back to playing Mario Kart 7 and Kid Icarus.
kid icarus uprising and mario 3d land/nsmb - i'm jonesin for nsmb2!! and some metal gear 4 'cos it has trophys now
My little sister rummaged around the other day and dug out her long lost GBA, and then handed it to me. So Super Mario Advance 1 and 4, to keep my appetite whetted for the incoming NSMB2!
Retro-
Contra- Only started it yesterday, and I can see why everyone likes it. Gonna beat it if I can!
Final Fantasy II (Famicom version)- With the power of a destroyed gyromite game, I can play this on my NES. Gonna beat the snow cave in all of it's epic glory!
3DS
Theatrhythn Final Fantasy
Mole mania
I'm going to try to beat the final boss on Kingdom Hearts 3D with Riku (already beat the game on Sora's side) . Also I'm going to be playing some Fortune Street on Wii.
KI:U and KH:3D
New Super Mario Bros 2 and Theatrhythm on the 3DS side, with probably El Shaddai, House of the dead overkill and Red Dead Redemption for the PS3... God I love having ADD ^^'
Monster Hunter 3, DDR Hottest Party 3, and Vindictus.
The legend of zelda: oracles of ages for the GBA.

already at Megaman #6
Going to our summerhouse over the weekend, so it will just be portable games for me. Probably some Pokemon Conquest, Castlevania OoE, Final Fantasy Tactics A2, Advance Wars and/or Chrono Trigger. Not sure what to bring.
Call of Duty Black Ops — I got to play with my buds like always. Nothing like cracking jokes and going on 45 winstreaks every night. Did I mention trolling the awful community?
Pilotwings Resort — Really enjoying this relaxing game. On the Silver cup.
Wario Land Shake It! — Everything is 100% complete except the last boss and his three missions. Believe me, it is pretty f***ing hard!
I'll be playing Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and if I beat that I'll work on MOTHER 1+2 for GBA.
Im playing New Super Mario Bros. So i get in the 2D platforming mood and get ready for New Super Mario Bros 2.
Skyrim and probably some Harvest Moon SNES just for fun
So, mr. brutus is not done with metroid fusion? What part are you stuck on?
Oh I'm done with it. This is my fourth complete playthrough. I love it! Thomas has gotten stuck though, apparently.
Push through, Thomas. It's worth it!
But Chicken, what time have Samus go to Zebes?
NSMB DS marathon. I always hated that one. I think it has poor enemy placement in World 2, so I typically end up rage quitting after getting killed so much by those tall things?
Also, @SMEXIXELDAMAN that is pure genius.
DS:
PMD Explorers of Time
3DS:
Super Mario 3D Land almost have all the special worlds beat.
hmm, well I pushed through Kingdom Hearts already, not sure if I want to do it again quite yet, since it will consume 36 hours more or less of gameplay time.
I think there might be Mario Kart 7 in the future and some Chess, hope my opponent remembers. Maybe I'll finish me push towards beating Master Quest.
Hopefully not Dragon Warrior, if I can finish it up tonight.
On the cards:
Still trying to choose between whether to play Final Fantasy (PSP), Phantasy Star (SMS), Ys (TGCD), or Breath of Fire (GBA) along with those.
Well I'm hoprfully going to finish Persona 4 this weekend (just beat Heaven), then after that I might finish Pokemon Red before I go away for a week, or start and maybe finish Final Fantasy on the PSP. Regardless, Last Story in 4 days!
Wait, Disc Golf is an actual sport? I thought it was something one of my Gym teachers came up with in Junior year of High School. Guess you do learn something new every day.
Well when ever a 2D Mario comes out I brush up on Super Mario Bros. Lost Levels (Not All-Stars). I haven't played it in 3 years so I am excited for the challenge again. ( I hate world 8!)
I'm thinking:
PS3: Sound Shapes, Uncharted 3 Multiplayer, Fall of Cybertron Demo, maybe Awesomenauts and Enslaved
3DS: Theatrhythm, Sword of Hope II, Pushmo
Uncharted 2 and Kingdom Hearts 3D.
Final Fantasy XII seems to be the only game I play anymore.
I'll be playing my old DS games I've never finished.
Elite Beat Agents & Picross 3D. Can't believe I forgot about them.
Maybe slash through some games in my Steam backlog. That will probably be Left 4 Dead 2 and Crysis.
Okamiden and Final Fantasy XIII.
Just picked up wave race for gameboy plus i just got a sega genesis. Never had a genesis when i was younger because i was blinded by hate of anything that was not nintendo. lol I will also be playing final fantasy 7 and maybe some ducktales for my nes top loader.
Thinking its going to be World of Warcraft for me with a little bit of Warioland and Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin on the side.
Paper Mario 64, Pokemon Heart Gold, and Skyward Sword.
Pokemon sapphire ;3 got my hands on the gameboid emulator > NOW ALL OF NINTENDO RETRO GAMING SHALL BE MINE MUHAHAHA
I FINALLY BEAT LEGEND OF ZELDA SKYWARD SWORD!!! I lost to Demise back in... January maybe? and haven't played the game since yesterday. I could never get the game to detect my skyward strikes.
I need to unlock the rest of the AR stuff. Also need to finnally finish face raiders.
Going to finish gravity rush, just got kid ic uprising for £7 so going to start that.
Oh and I'm also playing the fan translation of mother 3 :3
I am playing through the mirrored master quest in LoZ:OoT3D. I have played through master quest many times before, but not mirrored. I didnt think mirrored would make such a difference, but it does (especially biggorons sword). Just finished the water temple: so much fun, especially the puzzles that lead to the golden sculltula(s) (what is the plural of sculltula? Is it like Raccoon, where both Raccoons and Raccoon are correct?). The water temple is usually my favorite dungeon in Zelda games; as I love thinking laterally, and the water temple is usually the most lateral.
Dragon Quest VI. Keeping my JRPG chops sharp after getting done on play through #1 on Xenoblade. More or less waiting... waiting... waiting for The Last Story to FINALLY find its way into my little white Wii in a few days.
playing pokemon black through again, some KH 3D and Rhythm thief.
A package if 12 Sega Saturn games came in, but only4 of them are any good. So I'll be playing Virtua Racing, Virtua Fighter 2, Daytona USA, and Virtua Cop along with Sonic R, a game I already have.
I should also be working on Shantae: Risky's Revenge on my 3DS
I'm so jealous of everyone who hasn't yet finished Xenoblade!
For me it's:
Mega Man 2
Zelda Link to the Past
Mutant Mudds
Sin & Punishment: Star Successor and Pokemon Black.
And Probably some Rhythm Heaven Fever and de Blob 2. Two more games in my collection that I have yet to complete...
Still can't beat a bit of Goldeneye online.
